=== anubis__ is now known as darthanubis [05:44] hi, ive just got the mplayer port working on my wii, and am trying to figure out how to direct it towards the shared files on my mythbackend [05:45] i can see the share on my xp computer under \\server-name\recordings [05:47] the example configure shows things like mms://vipnrj.yacast.net/nrj_webtv03 and smb://user:password@192.168.69.131/write/a.avi [05:48] i tried smb://server-name/recordings/ and smb://server-name/recordings/filename.mpg and smb://name:password@192.168.0.2/recordings/ [05:49] not getting it to work though, anyone know the propper network address for the share? thank you for your help [06:00] HDHR for $138 if anyone gets newegg's email [06:01] I do [06:01] that doe snot sound cheap [06:02] its $30 off of their normally low price [06:02] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815327005&nm_mc=EMC-IGNEFL081208&cm_mmc=EMC-IGNEFL081208-_-VideoDevices-_-L5B-_-15327005 [06:04] rhpot, do you know the share address? [06:05] http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815116015 [06:05] I only do internal cards [06:06] dwfstarband: do you have any other boxes around to try it on? [06:06] darthanubis: thats all well and good, but thats not a dual HD card that works very easily [06:07] hmm [06:07] looking for one now [06:07] hvr 1800 will work OOB on intrepid, but doesn't currently [06:08] intrepid can't get here fast enough [06:09] will intrepid have mythtv .22? [06:09] rhpot1991, lets revise that...the HVR1800 sort of works oob in intrepid, the support is there but only beta atm [06:09] 0.22 doesn't have a release date yet. [06:09] thought so [06:10] not really, i have the backend, my xp, wifes xp, and the wii, my xp is dual boot, but i havent used ubuntu in a bit with it [06:11] oh, i have linux on my ds as well, if its something i can do from the command line [06:12] dwfstarband: just go to your xp box and do \\IP_OF_MYTHTV_BOX [06:12] do that where? [06:12] find your share, then you should be able to smb://same_ip/share [06:12] on the wii [06:13] in the address bar of my computer [06:13] or anywhere similiar [06:14] Cons: Setup is dirt simple with EyeTV on OS X but Linux requires some more monkeying. Requires a wired Ethernet connection to your network but will work with wireless devices that are connected to that network with a wireless hub. A web interface would be nice instead of the raw command line interface to set stuff up and maybe show some screen grabs so you know what to expect when you scan for channels! [06:15] http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductReview.aspx?Item=N82E16815327005 [06:15] ok that works fine on xp, so it should work for the wii as well, ill try again, i can do multiple configurations so im doing a couple at a time and trying them out, it will be really cool if i can watch myth recordings on my wii [06:16] should i use something before it like smb:// ? and what is the difference between the direction the // or \\ are pointing? [06:17] \\ is windows, smb:// is *nix way [06:17] honestly not sure what you want there, I assume your following some sort of instructions telling you what? [06:17] so i should just have the pointing the same as the sample configuration then? [06:17] dwfstarband: got a link for where you found this at? [06:18] sure just a sec [06:19] http://ronwarez.com/mplayerwii/ [06:20] thanks, I'll check it out at some point [06:20] ok, you got a wii? [06:20] yep [06:20] got the homebrew channel? [06:20] perhaps :) [06:21] ok, cool, if i cant figure it out ill check back later, maybe by then you will have played with it a little === gbutters is now known as gbutters_afk === rhpot1992 is now known as rhpot1991 [14:34] What's the difference between mythbuntu and ubuntu plus mythtv? === superm1 is now known as superm1|away === superm1|away is now known as superm1 [18:03] can mythbuntu play dvd iso? [18:05] thedarkone, yes...you need to add the iso file type as I recell but it should be able to do it [18:06] yes it can do it [18:06] I forget if I had to do anything special but it couldn't have been too hard [18:07] cool [18:07] I think you need the dvd module for one [18:08] you will need mythvideo that is ll [18:08] all [18:08] you don't need libdvdcss2 [18:08] ah [18:08] that sounds right [18:54] can mythmusic write a audio cd?
