Kamping_Kaiserhi all.08:36
Kamping_Kaiseri just noticed i've recieved a 'boiler plate paste' responce to Bug 223175 and Bug 218616 . while the paste may be valid for 175, for 616 it seems fairly gratuitious.is there a 'correct' coures of action?08:38
ubottuLaunchpad bug 223175 in linux "2.6.24-16: Xen patches contain unnessecary Kconfig.orig (causes compile failures)" [Medium,Triaged] https://launchpad.net/bugs/22317508:38
ubottuLaunchpad bug 218616 in linux "file drivers/net/appletalk/cops_ffdrv.h is not free" [Medium,Triaged] https://launchpad.net/bugs/21861608:38
Kamping_Kaiseri dont see a point in installing the intrepid kernel (for a start i have no intrepid systems) just to check a file copyright (which i probably need the source for anyway)08:38
Kamping_Kaiseri got the same boilerplate for Bug 76347 (and i'm guessing other that i havent got to yet). guess someone just went through all hte kernel bugs and bumped thier karma ^W^W^Wpasted the same thing08:45
ubottuLaunchpad bug 76347 in linux-source-2.6.17 "[regression] Robotics Sportster hard-modem not working on LiveCD 6.10" [Medium,Invalid] https://launchpad.net/bugs/7634708:45

HobbseeKamping_Kaiser: if it's policy or general behaviour, you'd do better to mail the mailing list.13:09
Kamping_KaiserHobbsee, 'the' mailing list? -bugs list?13:10
Hobbseeyes13:10
Kamping_KaiserHobbsee, dont know if its policy, but it happened to the 3 or 4 kernel bugs i was subscribed to.13:12
HobbseeKamping_Kaiser: often behaviours that people repeat a lot, then others see and repeat, become de facto policy.13:14
HobbseeKamping_Kaiser: it appears that "use your brain when it comes to bugs" isn't a written policy, as such.13:14
Kamping_KaiserHobbsee, i've already growled at the person in bug 218616 so i'll probably leave it as is.13:19
ubottuLaunchpad bug 218616 in linux "file drivers/net/appletalk/cops_ffdrv.h is not free" [Medium,Triaged] https://launchpad.net/bugs/21861613:19
HobbseeKamping_Kaiser: it's probably worth bringing it up as a general issue - various people have mentioned it.13:19
Kamping_KaiserHobbsee, ok. i'll draft an email then. not sure i'm wiling to send it tonight though.13:21
Hobbseei doubt people will read it until tomorrow anyway, even if yo udid.13:22
Kamping_Kaisernaughty people. they shold be waiting for my email13:26
