bdmurrayAmpelbein: did that seahorse clue find anything interesting?00:21
Ampelbeinno, only the one already marked.00:22
Ampelbeini'm now on some firefox-3.0 cluefiles00:22
Ampelbeinwill upload them as soon as i found some good ones00:22
bdmurraycool, you might check the firefox package too - it seems to be getting some ff3 bug reports00:23
Ampelbeinmy idea was to find some clues in the [master]-reports and let bughelper try to find the dupes00:23
bdmurrayapport does a pretty good job of marking crash duplicates00:24
bdmurrayyou probably want to use -A also to get the attachments if you are looking at crash reports00:24
Ampelbeinyeah, figured that out.00:24
bdmurraygreat00:24
Ampelbeinabout firefox. i'll try with a clue searching for firefox-3.0 and see what it brings up00:26
bdmurraybug 27000000:28
ubottuLaunchpad bug 270000 in firefox "Can't use OpenDNS and retain Awesome Bar functionality" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/27000000:28
bdmurrayAwesome Bar!00:28
Ampelbeinhmm. shouldn't "bughelper -T firefox "firefox-3.0" "possibly a firefox-3 bug" --cookie=~/out.txt" ignore locally stored clues?00:29
bdmurrayit should...00:30
Ampelbeinbecause i get a "Checked at [] - no clues found." error00:30
bdmurrayAmpelbein: testing00:31
bdmurrayI think you need the '-p firefox' bit too00:33
bdmurrayIts running here but I haven't found anything00:34
Ampelbeinis there a way to cache searches? so that bughelper does not have to reget the whole buglist.00:38
bdmurrayno, you could use the --dc field though00:40
bdmurrayoh, whoops00:40
Rocket2DMnbdmurray, i got an email telling me my bugcontrol membership was going to expire, can you refresh me?00:40
bdmurraythat's a bugnumbers option not bughelper00:41
bdmurrayRocket2DMn: Have you added your location?00:42
Rocket2DMnbdmurray, yes00:42
Rocket2DMni opted not to display it tho00:42
bdmurrayRocket2DMn: ah, that's too bad00:42
Rocket2DMn??? i can show it if youd like...00:43
Rocket2DMndoes it matter?00:43
bdmurrayNo, I just wanted the team map all filled out. ;)00:44
Rocket2DMnlol i might show it sometime00:44
bdmurrayRocket2DMn: okay you are all set00:46
Rocket2DMnthanks bdmurray .  i still see 2009-09-24 under the expires column, is that going to refresh sometime?00:48
bdmurrayit did ;)00:48
CarlFKcan I get help with what package this is against #27195800:49

Ampelbeincontains firefox-3.000:50
bdmurrayAmpelbein: I'm getting some hits in the data center00:51
bdmurrayits a bit faster there ;)00:51
Ampelbeinah. already wondered how you where doing the searches that fast.00:52
Ampelbeinhence my question about caching.00:52
bdmurrayintrepid and hardy might be good checks too00:52
Ampelbeinalready written clue-files for those.00:53
Ampelbeinhave to upload them.00:53
bdmurrayCarlFK: I wonder if more is show w/o quiet and usplash00:55
bdmurrayCarlFK: the task loop0 bit seems key to me00:55

Ampelbeinbdmurray: just uploaded some clues for firefox, could you check if i've done it right?00:58
bdmurrayCarlFK: are you the reporter?00:58
CarlFKbdmurray: yes00:58
bdmurrayIs there anything interesting in dmesg when you boot into single user mode?00:59
CarlFKill give it a shot00:59
bdmurrayAmpelbein: where?01:00
Ampelbeinwith bzr commit01:00
Ampelbeinin firefox.info01:01
bdmurrayyou'll need to use bzr push too01:01
bdmurrayAmpelbein: I'm out for a wee bit but will check it shortly01:02
Ampelbeink01:03
bdmurrayAmpelbein: looks good, you can also verify it with 'bugxml -v'01:16
Ampelbeinah, ok.01:16
Ampelbeinrunning it now, will check back later. have to go to bed now, it's 2:20 AM here.01:17
CarlFKbdmurray: http://dev.personnelware.com/carl/a/dmesg1.txt  i don't see anyting useful01:19
bdmurrayCarlFK: yeah, not really - what about some other log files?01:21
CarlFKi don't see any problems until I try to run X, and then it locks up01:22
bdmurrayCarlFK: and you can't do anything then?01:25
CarlFKright01:26
murdokAfter doing modprobe -r ssb; modprobe -r wl; modprobe wl; in dmesg appears this: http://pastebin.com/m6ba66888 . Shall I report it?01:28
bdmurrayCarlFK: did you look at the server's logs too in case it is a network issue01:31
hggdhmurdok, yes01:32
murdokhggdh, okay thanks. Is this a crash of the module or what is the name to report it?01:32
CarlFKbdmurray: last thing is expected: Sep 18 19:12:24 localhost rpc.mountd: authenticated mount request from 192.168.1.108:986 for /var/lib/tftpboot/ubuntu/intrepid/desktop (/var/lib/tftpboot/ubuntu/intrepid/desktop)01:33
hggdhmurdok, the failed assertion is in the kernel, part of the stack is the module... good question01:33
Ampelbeinbdmurray: last thing before really going: http://www.warperbbs.de/firefox3-bugs.html is the generated buglist, just with the launchpad-urls. just in case you need it.01:33
hggdhmurdok, against the package that hold the wl module, I guess, would be ideal01:34
murdoksounds complex hehe, so finishing, what package should it be reported against01:34
murdokokay01:34
murdok:)01:34
hggdhso now we find which one it is01:34
hggdhmurdok, I really do not know. b43 is in linux-generic01:38
hggdhsince wl deals with broadcom 43xx...01:39
murdokhggdh, linux-restricted-modules is the best I think01:39

stephantomhey there. I've just upgraded a testing machine to intrepid, and the new kernel won't boot. normally there would be something useful in the logs that would tell me what's wrong. but I can't find anything. it just... stops. have a look, please: http://nopaste.biz/5187412:53
=== furnari is now known as fixed
niadhI have not a bug, but more a feature suggestion, for accessability. Also interested in helping with ubuntu, if i can, so here seemed like the best place to start14:22
bddebianBoo14:57
nhandlerAhhh!!!14:58
bddebian:)15:02
niadhhey15:07
niadhThere anyone around?15:09
qenseI am :)15:09
niadhOh good, I'm looking to perhaps get involed with helping out ubuntu15:10
niadhRead about, eventually came here.15:10
CarlFKniadh: personally (but I am not well informed) I would like to see bug reports confirmed quicker15:12
niadhGreat, I'm looking at one I feel I may be able to help on ;)15:12
niadhI'm looking at this: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/174714 I KNOW this bug occurs cos it's happened to me, and I also have a hunch about the package name, but can't find it, so assume it has a metaname I don't know the name of, also I imagine I could replicate it.15:15
ubottuUbuntu bug 174714 in ubuntu "When installing a new GTK theme a duplicate of that theme appears" [Undecided,New]15:15
james_wniadh: what's your hunch about the name?15:17
niadhgnome-appearance-properties15:18
CarlFKniadh:  I am not sure what the protocols are here, but at a friends .com the way this would be handled is: mark it confirmed ("I KNOW this bug occurs cos it's happened to me") and set the package to your guess15:20
CarlFKthe package may be right, good.  if wrong it will probably be seen by someone who knows what right is and will change it15:21
james_wniadh:  "dpkg -S /usr/bin/gnome-appearance-properties" will tell you the name of the package15:21
james_wCarlFK: the problem is that there is no package of that name15:21
CarlFKyeah, thats a problem :)15:22
niadhit's part of gnome-control-centre15:22
niadhI've added details to that bug then, plus a screenshot of me re-creating the issue.15:29
james_wcool, thanks niadh15:30
niadhI'm looking through other bugs, like I said, am wanting to get involved if I can.15:30
seb128niadh: would be nice to specify the version of ubuntu you are using15:36
niadhI can change that :)15:36
seb128niadh: also the issue is likely an upstream one, so somebody having it should send to bugzilla.gnome.org too15:37
seb128niadh: also having a theme example attached to the bug would be useful15:37
niadhWill do, is there a place to select ubuntu version, or do i just mention it in the comments15:37
seb128mention it in the description or comments15:37
_Zeus_Wouter Stomp is driving me off the walls.15:41

ubottuUbuntu bug 136854 in ubuntu "[needs-packaging] Aurora GTK Engine/Theme" [Wishlist,Triaged]15:46
james_w_Zeus_: I don't agree with some of your resolutions to those bugs15:48
_Zeus_james_w: which ones?15:48
_Zeus_i have a good reason for each one that i think i listed in the bug15:49
james_wwell, all of them actually15:49
_Zeus_really.15:49
_Zeus_i find that hard to believe15:49
james_wI'm not sure time should be spent on fixing them, and I'm not sure they should be kept open, but I disagree with the reasons that you have given15:50
_Zeus_ok, give me one15:50
_Zeus_i'll tell you my reason15:50
niadhShould this bug be left as is or closed? :https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/17661916:11
ubottuUbuntu bug 176619 in ubuntu "Hardy Alpha 1: Package python-pyatspi (not) autoremovable" [Undecided,New]16:11
_Zeus_i don't think that's a bug16:15
_Zeus_maybe it's a question16:15
_Zeus_oh wait, other people can duplicate it.  it's a bug16:16
niadhThe Hardy Alpha 1 one?16:16
niadhBut isn't it pointless now, can't it just be closed?16:16
_Zeus_how do you know it's alpha 1?16:16
niadhIt says so in the description....16:16
_Zeus_oh16:17
_Zeus_right in front of me.  yeah, i say close it16:17
CarlFKwait16:17
PiciDoes it still exist currently?16:17
CarlFKshouldn't ... yeah.16:17
niadhShall I close it then?16:17
_Zeus_it was in hardy alpha 1, not touched since 2007-12-1516:17
PiciOh, Hardy. I read it as intrepid.16:17
_Zeus_how do you close it?  just invalidate it?16:18
CarlFKum16:18
CarlFKI think closing it without knowing if it is fixed is bad16:18
niadhSo what shall we do with it?16:18
CarlFKat least do the 'not updated in X days/years - is this still a problem?" and let the reporter figure it out16:18
_Zeus_good idea.16:19
niadhDone16:19

ubottuUbuntu bug 176619 in ubuntu "Hardy Alpha 1: Package python-pyatspi (not) autoremovable" [Undecided,New]16:21
niadhthat one16:21
bdmurrayIt should be easy enough to test right?16:22
bdmurrayI mean there seems to be enough information in it to test the bug.16:23
niadhIt it part of ubuntu-desktop?16:23
bdmurrayYou can check via 'apt-cache show python-pyatspi'16:24
niadhyes it is16:25
niadhso it'll be easy enough to re-install16:25
bdmurrayand I'm not seeing it as auto-removable now16:25
_Zeus_well, i'm not seeing it as auto-removable16:25
bdmurraySo yes it seems fixed but I'd still check with them to find out if it is still an issue.16:26
_Zeus_niadh posted to the bug to check with them16:26
_Zeus_how long do you customarily wait?16:26
bdmurrayI'd also assign it to the correct package which is likely python-pyatspi16:26
bdmurraymvo: How are packages identified as auto-removable?16:27
_Zeus_bdmurray: if you run apt-get autoremove, it should list them16:27
bdmurray_Zeus_: right, but how does it decide which ones are candidates for removal?16:28
_Zeus_packages that have dependees that have been removed, IIRC16:28
niadhThere's anther hardy alpha bug here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/19491816:29
ubottuUbuntu bug 194918 in ubuntu "Can't login Ubuntu 8.04 i386 Alpha 5 Full Install Desktop CD" [Undecided,New]16:29
james_wbdmurray: I think it's by tracking if the package was only installed as a dependency of something else16:31
james_wwhich is no longer installed16:31
_Zeus_niadh: I think we can close that... he never really even gave enough information to get it started16:32
niadhOk, cool, how do we close, mark as invalid?16:32
_Zeus_what do you guys think?16:33
_Zeus_niadh: yes, closing=invalid.  for this particular bug, you could probably hit it with an incomplete, but invalid is better IMO16:33
bdmurrayjames_w: that makes sense, thanks16:33
_Zeus_do you guys think this is a bug? https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox-3.0/+bug/27217116:34
ubottuUbuntu bug 272171 in firefox-3.0 "Evolution switches constantly to firefox" [Undecided,New]16:34
_Zeus_i think it might be wishlist, at best16:34
_Zeus_anyone?  i'm going to invalidate it then16:36
niadhmarked: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/194918 as invalid and stated why.16:36
ubottuUbuntu bug 194918 in ubuntu "Can't login Ubuntu 8.04 i386 Alpha 5 Full Install Desktop CD" [Undecided,Invalid]16:36
bdmurray_Zeus_: there is no reason to invalidate it16:36
_Zeus_it's not a bug!16:37
_Zeus_that's plenty of reason for me...16:37
_Zeus_it's a feature request16:37
niadhI would agree that it's a feature request, what to do about it however, I have no idea.16:37
bdmurrayIts fine to have feature requests in Launchpad16:37
_Zeus_then what do i set the status to?  just leave it at new?16:38
_Zeus_can anyone here change it to importance=wishlist,status=confirmed?16:38
bdmurrayCan you confirm the behavior?16:38
_Zeus_who uses evolution?16:39
_Zeus_i don't16:39
niadh_Zeus_: Some people use it, hell I used it for a while until I learned I simply hose my system too often to make it worth it.16:40
chrisccoulson_Zeus_: Ask the reporter for better defined steps to recreate the bug16:40
_Zeus_chrisccoulson: i think that's pretty good...16:41
chrisccoulsondon't just close it without asking for more information16:41
mvobdmurray: there isa file in /var/lib/apt/extended_states16:41
chrisccoulsonit could be a big in the window manager or anything16:41
mvobdmurray: that file contains information what packages got installed as dependencies16:41
_Zeus_chrisccoulson: i'm not going to close it16:41
mvobdmurray: libapt knows what packages the user requested explictely and which got installed as automatic dependencie16:42
mvobdmurray: why?16:42
bdmurraymvo: we were looking at a bug where a package marked for auto-removal kept getting reinstalled16:42
chrisccoulsonwho's tree mendud? i've got over 500 e-mails from this guy in my inbox!16:43

charlie-tcaper the xfce documentation that is hidden in non-standard /usr/share/xfce4/doc/16:44
bdmurraycharlie-tca: is that reporter using xubuntu?16:48
charlie-tcaI don't know, I havn't looked at the report16:49
charlie-tcabdmurray: Report says kubuntu 8.04. I wonder if this is now doing the same default?16:50
bdmurrayRight so maybe there is a configuration option in kde to change the behavior16:52
chrisccoulsondoes anyone know whether the kernel supports UDF v2.50 filesystems?17:17

ubottuLaunchpad bug 248521 in xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse "vmmouse seems to register incorrect x,y values for mouseclick" [High,Incomplete] https://launchpad.net/bugs/24852119:15
jdongbdmurray: I'm seeing that on VMWare Fusion and latest Intrepid; actually it registers the mouse fine but doesn't respond to any clicking at all19:16
bdmurrayjdong: can you get that log file for tjaalton?19:18
jdongyeah oncr i get out the laptop19:20
chrisccoulson1bdmurray: i'll boot my intrepid virtual machine and have a look at that bug in a second.19:28
chrisccoulson1i haven't noticed it recently because i've changed from the vmmouse driver to the mouse driver19:29
chrisccoulson1jdong: whats your screen resolution? it does register clicking if you've got a resolution high enough, because the x,y co-ordinates are so far out. on a 1600x1200 screen, i could point my mouse on 1 corner of the screen and just about register a click in the opposite corner19:31
jdongchrisccoulson1: 800x600, maybe that's why19:32
chrisccoulson1if i go to a lower resolution, i couldnt get it to click at all19:32
jdongchrisccoulson1: before it'd register about 50pel lower19:32
jdongbooting it up atm19:32
chrisccoulson1i can't get it to fail at the moment, which is odd19:36
chrisccoulson1i'm still running the same version of xserver-xorg-input-vmmouse as I was when I last commented on the bug report19:37
chrisccoulson1i don't think xorg is loading the vmmouse module, even though i've specified it in my xorg.conf19:37

chrisccoulson1just seen a comment from tjaalton on the bug report about xorg ignoring the drivers in xorg.conf because input-hotplug is used now19:39
chrisccoulson1so i don't know how to reproduce it now :/19:39
=== r0bby is now known as r0bbyarrr
tjaaltonchrisccoulson1: the bug might still exist, and you can disable i-h by adding 'Option "AutoAddDevices" "false"' to ServerFlags19:41
chrisccoulson1tjaalton: thanks - i'll try that later. i've got to go out for a bit now19:41
jdonghold on I got it to happen.19:55
jdongjust trying to unbreak the VM enough to copy out the log.19:55
jdongtjaalton: attached xorg.log; lemme know what else would help19:58
chrisccoulson1i can confirm that it still exists as well20:06
chrisccoulson1if i hover the mouse cursor over the main menu in the top left corner of the screen, i get the wastebasket tooltip in the bottom right20:07
jdongI am unable to register any mouseclick anywhere on the login screen.20:13
niadhI have a bug here I can't reproduce, not entirely sure what to do with it: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/15999320:51

chrisccoulson1jdong - i can't register a mouse click on the login screen either, but my login screen is only 800x600 i think20:52
_Zeus_can someone help me??????21:29
_Zeus_https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/26849221:29
ubottuUbuntu bug 268492 in synaptic "Automatically downloading updated packages should not block package managers" [Undecided,New]21:29
_Zeus_this guy keeps reopening this bug, and i discussed with some others and they agree with my decision21:29
_Zeus_how can i stop him?21:30
greg-g_Zeus_: that is the wrong attitude. You should bring it to a mutually agreeable position. Mark it confirmed (the issue he presents is true, no?) and wishlist.21:32
_Zeus_ok, deal.  who can set it to wishlist?21:33
greg-gI can21:33
_Zeus_ok, i confirmed it and told him what we're doing21:34
greg-galso, noticed that I changed it to apt21:35
_Zeus_you can look at this one too, i think this one is also wishlist. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/synaptic/+bug/26849221:35
ubottuUbuntu bug 268492 in apt "Automatically downloading updated packages should not block package managers" [Wishlist,Confirmed]21:35
greg-gone moment, I am in class right now ;)21:35
_Zeus_not sure about this one: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/synaptic/+bug/26849221:35
_Zeus_sure21:35
greg-g_Zeus_: could you please search Launchpad and Debian bugtrackers for duplicate reports, please?21:36
greg-gfor the bug we just marked wishlist (the apt issue)21:37
seb128greg-g: duplicates don't work cross bug trackers21:37
greg-gseb128: I meant linking it, sorry, couldn't explain fully as I'm in class21:37
greg-g;)21:37
_Zeus_sry, back21:39
macocan someone mark bug 272171 as wishlist, please?21:45
ubottuLaunchpad bug 272171 in firefox-3.0 "Evolution switches constantly to firefox" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/27217121:45
maco_Zeus_: hey i agree with the guy on bug 272150 ...that's what hal's for. why do we need something else to notice new devices?21:53
ubottuLaunchpad bug 272150 in hal "Don't run bluetooth applet when no bluetooth hardware is present" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/27215021:53
danageok i found a bug in rhythmbox: try adding an itunes music folder to the library. it takes hours to import it because when it finds jpg it gives import errors and it takes about 3 seconds for each error22:22
seb128danage: open the bug on bugzilla.gnome.org22:23
seb128there is no change to rhythmbox in the ubuntu version22:23
seb1283 seconds for each seems a lot22:23
danageis even says "gstreamer error, file a bug report"22:24
=== fFf is now known as [fFf]
macodanage: is that from an ipod or a directory?22:32
danagedirectory22:33
danageseb128: gnome bug 55294622:33
uncan someone here help me with the openoffice.org-writer2latex rift... my dpkg is broken now...22:33
danagehttp://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=55294622:34
macodanage: can't be reproduced here22:34
danageouch22:34
danagetry a samba share, that's what i am doing22:34
danagemaybe i should add that as relevant...22:34
unthe unopkg app flippin' out during postinst on the writer2latex deb... fixed anywhere yet?22:34
macodanage: crimsun's sitting across from me, has a massive music library with tons of photos mixed in, and when he imports the giant tree into rhythmbox, yes, it throws errors for the jpgs, but it continues on just fine and does not take 3 seconds each22:34
danagedoes he get "internal gstreamer bugs"22:35
seb128danage: would be a good idea to specify the version you are using22:35
macodanage: yes, but that's correct since they're obviously not able to be parsed as music files22:35
danagemy cpu and network occupancy are low. cpu maybe 50% and network 1mbyte/s22:36
seb128enough for today, see you later22:37
danagenight seb12822:37
danagemaco: well my cpu load is quite high22:37
danageit might be that22:38
danagei should withdraw that bug22:38
macodanage: it could be the samba thing as well with network latency.  see if you can reproduce it locally or when the cpu's not under stress22:39
danageok22:39
macodanage: in my mind, it shouldn't stop and wait for the error before reaching for the next file. it ought to throw the error while skipping to the next file22:40
macoand that may be what it's doing22:40
danagei dont understand. it doesn't know the error until it has the response?22:40
macoi mean it may stop importing while it's waiting for the error to be displayed22:41
danageah isee22:41
macowhile it probably should skip to the next file and let the error become visible as resources allow22:42
macobut as i haven't looked at rhythmbox's code, that's just speculation22:42
madsrhdoes anyone know if Alpha 6 should enable compiz by default or if this is a bug?22:43
macomadsrh: which is it doing? enabling or disabling?22:44
macoi dont think a decision to get rid of compiz by default was made, so i'd say if it can start compiz by default (can meaning you have all the necessary drivers) and it hasn't, probably a bug22:45
madsrhmaco: Okay, probably a bug then - thanks22:47
macoi'm pretty sure i've seen a bug on "burn:///" and so i want to mark something as a dupe of it, but i can't figure out how to search for "burn:///" instead i get results as if i'd just searched for "burn"23:24
bokeroneshello23:25
Ampelbeinmaco: bug 226854 ?23:26
ubottuLaunchpad bug 226854 in nautilus ""gnome-open burn:///" fails with "The default action does not support this protocol" (dup-of: 235228)" [Low,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/22685423:26
ubottuLaunchpad bug 235228 in gnome-panel "Could not open location 'burn:///'" [Low,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/23522823:26
bokeronesi have a problem reading a cd multisesion but hardy dont warm me any thing ( sorry i am spanish)23:27
macoAmpelbein: yes, thank you23:28
bokeroneshardy only read the firts sesion on cd and mount it like cd audio ( is because de cd have 17 tracks .wav and software)23:28
macoAmpelbein: how did you make it not ignore the special characters?23:28
Ampelbeinmaco: using bughelper to search for "burn" then grepping for ///23:29
macoAmpelbein: ah ok. i'll have to look into bughelper23:29
Ampelbeinor you can use some google-magic: lynx --dump "http://www.google.de/search?as_q=burn&hl=de&num=100&btnG=Google-Suche&as_epq=&as_oq=&as_eq=&lr=&cr=&as_ft=i&as_filetype=&as_qdr=all&as_occt=any&as_dt=i&as_sitesearch=launchpad.net&as_rights=&safe=images" | grep "burn:///"23:32
Ampelbeinmight be actually faster than bughelper23:32
bdmurrayheh, that's neat23:34
Ampelbeinbdmurray: good to see you. i've reassigned most of the firefox-3 related issues in firefox. so we won't need a special bugday for them, as you suggested on the mailinglist.23:35
bdmurrayAmpelbein: great! thanks for doing that23:40
bdmurraythat helps explain the numbers at http://status.qa.ubuntu.com/qapkgstatus/firefox-3.0 some23:41
Ampelbeinyeah, could be.23:46
Ampelbeinshould i notify someone before mass-reassigning bugs?23:47
bdmurraywhat do you mean by mass? by hand or via a script?23:49
Ampelbeini looked through the reports and added those which seemed like a firefox-3 issue to me to the recipient list of an email.23:50
Ampelbeinbut that were like 70-80 bugs, hence "mass"23:50
Ampelbeini used the email-interface for reassigning the bugs.23:51
bdmurrayI think letting the mozilla team know would be good23:51
_Zeus_if a bug has been fixed in a later version, should i change it to fix released?????23:51
Ampelbeinsee bug 260831 as example23:51
ubottuLaunchpad bug 260831 in firefox-3.0 "Intrepid Visiting a site with WMV video gives bad message and help" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/26083123:51
bdmurray_Zeus_: is it certain what the bug was?23:52
_Zeus_the guy said that firefox no longer says "ubuntu" in About, but in 3.0.2, it does say it now23:52
_Zeus_so it's back23:52
_Zeus_it hadn't been touched since july 8, then a bot came and changed the bug from in firefox to in firefox 323:53
_Zeus_bug 24633723:53
ubottuLaunchpad bug 246337 in firefox-3.0 "Ubuntu version not show on firefox's user-agent string for 8.04" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/24633723:53
Ampelbeinthat was me...23:53
_Zeus_not a problem anymore23:53
_Zeus_can i invalidate it?23:53
_Zeus_or should i change it to fix released?23:54
bdmurrayI'd get an answer about John's question23:54
_Zeus_so should i just leave it as saying it's been fixed and wait for a reply before invalidating?23:55
bdmurrayBut normally it could be set to Fix Released and you should mention the exact package version that you check with, not 3.0.223:55
_Zeus_I said 3.0.2+build3+nobinonly-0ubuntu223:55
_Zeus_isn't that good enough?23:56
macoguys, what do you do to bugs like bug 272311 ?23:56
ubottuLaunchpad bug 272311 in ejabberd "Kicks too much ass" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/27231123:56
_Zeus_invalidate it.23:56
bdmurraytry not to both close the same bug in the future ;)23:58
_Zeus_maco: after rereading it, i think the best course of action would be to set it to incomplete23:58
_Zeus_he does seem to have some issue, so i told him if he wants to give more info, we'll look into it23:59
macobdmurray: hey, launchpad lacks a locking mechanism to prevent such things23:59
_Zeus_i know...23:59
_Zeus_i wish you could lock bugs shut23:59
macobdmurray: crimsun and i are both watching newest bugs, so we have done that a few times too23:59
macomaybe i should pick a package...23:59
