[05:34] hi [05:34] any1 can help me setting up my mythtv ? [10:16] Hello, I've got a newbie mythbuntu question if someone has some time to answer it. [10:16] !ask [10:16] Please don't ask if anyone is around or if it is alright to ask a question. Many people check back periodically and may answer your question when they see it. IRC is not normally an instant fix so check back often for an answer. [10:17] nods nods... just tryinng to be polite [10:17] Sure :) [10:17] briefly then [10:17] Everything's workinng almost perfect [10:17] If I play a recording on a mythfrontend, works great [10:18] however, if I play another recording ("Watch Recording") I get a "black" screen. [10:18] Audio is just fine [10:18] Running mythfrontend from the console gives no evidence of any difference. [10:18] If I restart mythfrontend everything works fine, once. [10:18] So some recordings work but not others? [10:18] No [10:18] Oh, it works once. [10:18] correct. [10:18] Weird. [10:19] Have you compared the logs? [10:19] I've been using MythTV for 2 years with Slackware, haven't' seen this before [10:19] i know this. [10:19] opengl video renderer? [10:19] I have compared the output on mythfrontend's console. Is there anywhere else I should look? [10:19] It's default. Change to QT? [10:19] ... trying that now... [10:20] that's the painter (for the menus), the video renderer is set separately [10:20] Yeah, console logs unless you have redirected them [10:20] looking for opengl [10:20] then logs... where would they be? [10:21] If you're starting it from a console that output is fine. [10:21] Otherwise [10:21] !logs [10:21] MythTV logs are stored in /var/log/mythtv/ [10:21] ok [10:21] Can't seem to find the opengl render setting, will look for logs now [10:22] directhex sounds like maybe he's seen it before [10:22] common enough problem with some 3d drivers if you use the opengl renderer [10:22] other causes, i can't help [10:23] Interesting. Likely an X problem [10:23] Yeah, I was thinking a driver issue. [10:23] Myth seems to make a lot of them visible [10:23] when I alt-tabbed out, X windows behaved strangely [10:23] First let me check for log differences [10:24] I don't see a difference. [10:25] Logs appear near identical for both playbacks [10:25] some subtle order issues [10:25] I'm running the Nvidia driver [10:25] with an onboard GeForce 6150 [10:25] That's usually okay [10:25] No issues with other programs like MythVideo or mplayer [10:26] Something weird happened with X. Lemme try that again [10:26] If I alt tab out, then alt tab back, it's not "in front" [10:27] That is to say that the alt tab window is still visible [10:27] Also notice that if I bring up program guide, that comes up [10:27] I'm guessing it's not capturing the window. [10:28] Getting a lot of dropping back audio_buffer_unused errors, presuming that's a root priority issue and unrelated [10:28] How do I access the MythTV render again? [10:30] Someone mentioned opengl... [10:33] Yadif deinterlace showing up in logs, I doubt it's that. [10:35] nothing in X logs... [10:37] Again, can someone direct me to the renderer opengl setting that directhex just mentioned? [10:37] I can't find it [10:39] I see it [10:39] Playback Profiles... [10:40] fixed [10:40] thanks for help === will__ is now known as realopty [12:41] ello [12:43] how can i use another box as a backend slave???? [12:50] :( [12:51] stream from one backend to the other :O? [12:51] etc [12:51] ur all dead :( [14:03] realopty I believe there is a checkbox for secondary backend in MCC, do that then when you setup this backend you put the IP of the masterbackend [14:13] jphillip, can i sync from the master to the slave over the net? [14:14] realopty they stream files on the fly [14:20] any1 up for fixing my problems? [14:21] jphillip, know how to transcode the files before the sync? [14:33] night [14:38] what sort of quality should i expect if my video card is hooked up to my tv via hdmi? [14:39] im running the latest nvidia drivers (via envy) but the quality still seems quite poor === wjs_ltop_ is now known as wjs_ltop [17:01] hi, using intrepid mythbuntu 8.10, upgraded yesterday, and having a problem now with live tv. get sound all the time, but video craps out like 4 or 5 seconds into playing [17:02] not using any nvidia drivers or anything like that, and using using slim for playback === tritium_ is now known as tritium [18:07] I'm curious: why would a downloaded .avi occasionally have audio that's a second or two behind the video when played back in myth--but seems fine when played with VLC? [18:10] and is there a way to re-sync the sound in myth? === dashcloud is now known as szakulec [20:26] how long it taks for myth_scanner to do scanning for 3 satellites?
