[02:23] evenin' folks [02:23] I remember seeing somewhere that you could setup the keymappings in mythbuntu... can someone tell me where that was? [02:30] Aquahallic: you can do it in mythweb if you have that installed [02:31] well this is for a frontend [02:31] or is it a global setting? [02:31] I have a remote frontend I'm using.. and mythweb is setup on the master backend [02:31] does that set it for all frontend clients? [02:34] Aquahallic: yep, when you do settings then mythtv, and click on the keybindings tab [02:34] you can choose the host from the dropdown [02:34] ahh [02:34] ty [02:34] mythcontrols may do it as well, I don't recall [02:50] !final [02:50] Sorry I don't know about final [02:50] !je;[ [02:50] Sorry I don't know about je;[ [02:50] !help [02:50] Use ! followed by a topic to get help on the topic (if it exists) example: !logs. [04:10] #voip [05:45] Hi, anyone on and actually answering questions? [05:45] or atleast trying to :) [05:46] well guess not [07:22] http://systemoverload.net/pregancy.wmv ROFLMAO === tgm4883_laptop_ is now known as tgm4883_laptop === croppa_ is now known as croppa [15:19] !status [15:19] I am alive. === wjs_ltop_ is now known as wjs_ltop [18:41] afternoon folks [18:42] Anyone using mythphone? [18:43] !ask | Aquahallic [18:43] Aquahallic: Please don't ask if anyone is around or if it is alright to ask a question. Many people check back periodically and may answer your question when they see it. IRC is not normally an instant fix so check back often for an answer. [18:45] When I open mythphone and it registers to fwd.pulver.com when I dial 613 (the test call #) I hear a clicking... it's almost every second on the dot.. just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this same thing? [19:27] Hello everyone! [19:27] Can someone guide me how to check the integrity of my Myth's BE/FE database? [19:28] foxbuntu: Hey! :) [19:28] MilhousePunkRock, hello [19:28] MilhousePunkRock, is there a reason you need to do that? [19:29] foxbuntu:Yes. :( Yesterday there was gaps ("unknown") in the guide data for one multiplex, on which I wanted to record 5 shows [19:29] I ran filldatabase manually, and at some point the EPG was filled again, so some stuff got recorded twice (manual and scheduled) [19:30] MilhousePunkRock, well thats likely another issue, however if you want to check it out, google for "mysql database repair" [19:30] you should get the mysql article that will help you [19:30] Long story short, the machine froze (!) a few times, now I can neither fast forward nor jump [19:31] foxbuntu: Can we check the integrity anyway first, like we did before the major upgrade. (Which was a few weeks ago, in case you remember) [19:31] I dont remember anything past last weekend [19:31] lol [19:31] fair enough [19:32] The mysql Reference Manual? [19:33] yea [19:33] just follow through the repair process and then try it again [19:34] Can the FE and/or BE be running during that? [19:34] yeah...you will want to restart the BE after you complete it [19:35] as in sudo /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend restart [19:35] not a reboot [19:35] !help [19:35] Use ! followed by a topic to get help on the topic (if it exists) example: !logs. Other available commands: !status, !about, !bug [bug_number]. For a complete list of my knowledge visit: http://www.baablogic.net/Zinn.cgi [19:36] foxbuntu: Seems like I have 3 options: REPAIR TABLE, mysqlcheck and myisamcheck [19:37] start with myisamcheck [19:37] then do a repair [19:37] that should take care of any potential issues with the DB [19:38] I've just installed mythbunutu three times (mythbuntu-8.04.1-desktop). The installation all goes without hitch but upon reboot it fails to boot with grub error 15 this is without me changing any hardware around, just reboot straight from install, Is this a known issue? [19:39] foxbuntu: I have not the slightest clue of mysql, how do I state user and pw? [19:39] mysql -u -p [19:44] And now for the most stupid question of the evening: Where is the database? [19:46] foxbuntu: ^ [19:46] MilhousePunkRock, google for the mysql default location, im not sure off the top of my head, /usr/share/mysql maybe [19:54] foxbuntu: Did not find it yet, but I read that I could do a database repair via mythweb. Do you recommend that? [19:55] MilhousePunkRock, its essentially the same thing, should be fine [19:56] recordedseek -- Table is marked as crashed [19:58] foxbuntu: No everything is ok... Oddly enough... [19:59] MilhousePunkRock, the repair usually just shows you the previous error if it fixes the table [20:01] foxbuntu: Now I also know why I would not find the database, I was not ssh'ed into the Myth machine in the konsole window where i checked [20:01] lol [20:01] whoops [20:01] foxbuntu: I just noticed that when tab completion had nothing for /etc/init.d/my... [20:02] on your backend? [20:02] What I thought was the ssh session of the backend ;) [20:02] oh [20:03] yeah...I have done that a few times [20:03] of course I have also has multiple ssh sessions on my servers going and then did something in the wrong window [20:03] that was annoying/bad [20:04] foxbuntu: WOOHOO!!! I can seek and jump again! Thanks a lot for the help! [20:04] np [20:05] I guess the initial crash came from too high workload on the harddrive, causing the corrupted database... [20:05] Well, the evening is saved, I am out! 'til next time! [20:09] can anyone help me, I've got an ATi card with lots of issues with mythtv [20:32] !ask | keith_ [20:32] keith_: Please don't ask if anyone is around or if it is alright to ask a question. Many people check back periodically and may answer your question when they see it. IRC is not normally an instant fix so check back often for an answer. [20:33] Mythtv wont go into the gallery, or tv, or settings or anything except the main menu, it used to, on integrated graphics, but now does not using a new ati dedicated graphics. [20:50] keith_, yesterday gbee on #mythtv-users told a user how to get his ATI card working..If you want to look through the archive,i am sure you can find the info ..http://mythtv.beirdo.ca/ircLog/channel/1/history [20:57] Hi, I got a few doubts about mythbuntu, may I ask ? [20:58] BrunoMarq, yes [20:59] can mythbuntu act as a server like .. I have 2 tv's at house, I want to see a channel 1 on tv 1 and channel 2 on tv 2, is it possible to do that with a single mythbuntu server ? [21:00] BrunoMarq, as long as you have 2 tuners in your server (we call it a backend ) [21:01] you could do......... [21:01] foxbuntu, how many tuners do you have in your backend? [21:01] 9 [21:01] lol [21:01] BrunoMarq, you could watch 9 live shows at a time [21:01] that's cool indeed [21:01] although some of those might be digital tuners, which would make it more [21:02] Im adding 2 more soon too im thinking [21:02] thats on top of anything that you have pre-recorded [21:02] * foxbuntu has ~300 hours of TV recorded right now [21:02] I wonder how do I do that though( I don't have mythbuntu yet, considering it ), in windows media center there are extenders.. anything like that for mythbuntu ? [21:03] Frontend's [21:03] well there are a number of ways to do it [21:03] you need something that will run a frontend [21:03] there are a number of devices that will do it as well [21:03] and that is capable of displaying the video you recorded (HD is more) [21:04] if your planning on HD video be sure to get something with a Dual Core processor [21:04] I mean, I don't really want a pc for each tv, just something near it that can access to the backend. [21:04] a few to name are computer, hacked apple tv, hacked xbox [21:04] or an lpia system [21:04] BrunoMarq, you just need the right kind of device: www.foxmediasystems.com [21:05] * foxbuntu waits for tgm4883_laptop to notice that [21:05] foxbuntu, they don't sell hardware though? [21:05] very very soon [21:05] plus, the owner is a little crazy [21:05] he has 9 tuners in his backend [21:05] not a little [21:05] allot [21:05] and wants more [21:06] well I might buy a 4TB NAS to NFS share for additional storage too [21:06] I see [21:06] BrunoMarq, I am working on a hardened ready to use MythBuntu device, its been a long process [21:08] and there will be a backend/standalone unit and a frontend only model that will be ascetically pleasing to have near a TV [21:09] ah ok, that's nice. [21:10] another question is.. imagine I want a torrent client, like vuze, mythbuntu itself doesn't really "support" that right ? I need to have ubuntu "behind" mythbbuntu to have it ? [21:11] well you would just need a torrent client [21:11] probably torrent flux [21:11] or if it's an rss feed [21:11] mythnettv should work [21:11] but I think there is an outstanding bug in bittornado [21:12] BrunoMarq, MythBuntu is Ubuntu + MythTV [21:15] ok guys, thanks for the help, keep up the great job. See you. [23:34] I've just installed mythbunutu three times (mythbuntu-8.04.1-desktop). The installation all goes without hitch but upon reboot it fails to boot with grub error 15 this is without me changing any hardware around, just reboot straight from install, Is this a known issue?
