[09:36] yes [09:36] but prof. makes me code java for this project [09:37] have you developer for ubuntu ? [09:38] nope [09:59] I'm actually going to use the UMPC for development on ubuntu [10:01] That ought work fine, although a development box usually requires a bit more disk space, etc. Be sure your hardware is up to it. [10:04] my dvd drive seems to be broken and i can't find any of my usb sticks [10:04] all disks causes some md5 errors === davmor2 is now known as davmor2_away [12:55] hello there [12:55] lool, around ? [13:42] crevette: Not really [13:42] crevette: what's up? [13:43] lool, doesn't matter, I think you're not the person I was looking for actually :) [13:43] I thought you worked in the v4l/v4l2 change but not apparently [13:44] Well I prepared misc libv4l uploads [13:44] because I saw a patch landing in gstreamer cvs and I thought you'd be interested [13:45] I don't know if it is the one that ubuntu ships [13:45] actually [13:45] * crevette get bored at work [13:45] crevette: we are using the v4l2 libv4l in gst, yes [13:45] in gstreamer0.10-plugins-good [13:46] http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=545033 ? [13:46] Gnome bug 545033 in gst-plugins-good "[v4l2src] Add support for camera specific formats" [Normal,Resolved: fixed] [13:49] crevette: We have it already https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gst-plugins-good0.10 [13:49] * debian/patches/10_fedora-use_libv4l.patch: [13:51] crevette: Yeah, same patch basically (didn't check bit for bit) [13:51] okay I didn't want to bother you sorry [13:52] crevette: That's ok [13:52] Bye === davmor2_away is now known as davmor2 === cprov is now known as cprov-lunch [15:38] ChickenCutlass: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/67356/ === hwilke is now known as hfwilke === ido_ is now known as alph-chino === alph-chino is now known as ido_ [17:06] ian_brasil, I asked you yesterday about the Acer A150-1570 (with XP). I just wanted to confirm before purchasing it that the Acer AOA150 models work OK with Linux. I noticed a bunch of different conflicting specs for the thing and I'm just wanting to make sure. http://tinyurl.com/5jhul7 [17:09] well i am running an aspire and it works ok..wifi is currently not working however (it was on and off during the release candidate updates so I imagine it will soon ..sooner if i ever get round to submitting the bug)..also i have not tested the mic or the audio yet [17:10] Ah ok i was just making sure it was the XP version and whatnot. I noticed some of the specs were for other hardware and I was pretty confused :P [17:11] mine came with linux but i changed it to ubuntu straight away [17:11] Is it the 1GB ram/Atom Proc/120GB thing? [17:11] mine is AO100 512ram/8gb ssd [17:12] ah. [17:12] no it has 512 and an atom processor...the newest models have not got here yet [17:12] I figure they have different hardware. It said in windows that the card was an atheros [17:12] (the wireless card) [17:13] yes mine is an atheros [17:14] any app to make video streaming from webcam? better if remote person dont need any specific software to recieve stream [17:15] use gstreamer? [17:15] i capture the webcam using V4linux [17:16] that act as server? what software client will use? [17:17] better if just browser [17:17] i use luvcview right now for just local capture [17:18] ian_brasil, I actually can't really find the Linux model (which is what I was looking for). But if the specs are better on the 150 I guess I should get it and see if I can get it working. [17:18] I would just hate to resort to Windows until it works haha :-D [17:18] the linux model has either sold out or is not in stock [17:18] Oh ok. [17:20] the price difference caused a demand surge at the start of the linux offerings [17:20] they even dont care to provide liveusb image of linpus lite... so pathetic [17:20] =/ [17:20] the linpus lite actually rocks..x11perf tests comparing this and ubuntu are intersting to say the least [17:20] So I would be OK trying the XP version? I don't care if it has SSD, really. It has a regular 120gb drive in it [17:20] on linpus website... and to include rescue DVD with netbook... that make me to just lol [17:21] well the ssd means your lap does not get hot [17:21] ian_brasil: dunno... glxgears show same, or ubuntu is little better [17:21] ah [17:21] important in a warm climate [17:22] I guess its not too much of an issue for me. Thats a rough choice 8GB ssd or 120gb non ssd [17:22] :P [17:22] i ran x11perf -all on both [17:22] and the original system install was a lot faster [17:22] ah.. well I figure ssd would be [17:22] im just worried about the lack of space [17:23] buy slot cards [17:23] ? [17:23] problem is not 8 gb, problem is it really slow, i made dd if=/dev/zero of=ssd and reported write speed was 2.5 mbytes/sec ... probably average for whole ssd [17:24] also i'm not sure if it is smart to download torrents to this ssd [17:25] bfiller: was system info removed from unr or can I not find it for some other reason? [20:19] hm. [20:19] welcome back orga. [20:20] I use a bluetooth keyboard, and every time it disconnects, it forgets my language settings
