=== kennymc is now known as kennymc0 [13:18] I don't get help from anybody, Issue 116 won't come into dutch,, sunday you will hear from me, if i have got enough help to go on with UWN, or i blowed the project off.. [14:06] 116 will come, (today),, [14:07] Tumie: What's the problem. I saw your frustration, and I can understand when things get frustrating. But I can't help if I don't know what's going on. [14:07] tyche: too little time, too much text, nobody helps,, but now, somebody is helping, and we can get the whole issue done now :) [14:08] OK, so it's help on your end (the translating) that you needed? [14:09] yes,, [14:10] no problems anymore :D [14:10] Ah. Good. I was afraid that there was something I should have been doing to help you, and wasn't. [14:10] I'm glad you've got help. :-) [14:11] tyche: i just needed an extra translator :) [14:11] maybe you can learn dutch? :P [14:12] Yea. I can see where that could be a problem. And I think I'd have as much luck learning Dutch as I did learning French in high school. I failed. I'm just not good with languages. Hee hee [14:12] I wish I were, though. [14:13] I know that I've helped others, sometimes, with defining English words that were outside their vocabulary. But it's still in English, unfortunately. [14:13] doesn't matter.. [14:13] then the other make the word in their language.. [14:15] meetings & events is easy to translate,, just let gedit replace al the basiscs.. then edit UTC times, to UTC+1 [14:15] Yes, but if the word isn't known to begin with (and many English words are a bit difficult) then one can't translate it. By getting simpler definitions, they understand the word and can translate it into their own language. [14:16] i always use #ubuntu-nl for words i don't know :) [14:17] Well, that's something. You've got resources behind you, and that's good. [14:18] In the press... Ubuntu in the press in Holland.. never happens.......... [14:19] but still watch all the sites in dutch that have a linux section [14:21] and "blogosphere",, is almost always the importent news of my own blog :( [14:21] i'm almost the only dutch ubuntu blog.. [14:21] didn't see another yet.. [14:22] only "Launchpad News" and "In other news" rest to translate :) [14:25] tyche: is it right that it is 6:25 at you're place ? [14:26] i'm almost going to dinner,, and you're just going out of bed XD [14:32] 3 things left.... [14:36] 2 things.. [15:24] publishing [15:24] published :D [15:25] Congratulations, Tumie [15:25] tyche: thanks [15:25] this was a horrible week :p [15:25] We all have times like that. [15:25] just problems in the beginning [15:27] Yep. Mine is a granddaughter that is home sick from school. So I had to make an emergency run to pick her up at my daughter's workplace. [15:29] so you're already grandfather? :) [15:29] Been a grandfather for about 10 years. [15:30] how old are you? [15:30] I'm 64, or nearly. [15:30] young grandfather :) [15:30] Precocious daughter. Hee hee [15:32] i've an young grandmother (grandfather left her..).. my grandmother get my mother,, when whe was only 16.. [15:32] That's even younger. At least my daughter waited until she was 21. [15:33] but my grandmother was an accident........ :P [15:33] Yep. I'm sure. That's what they all say. Hee hee [15:34] going to bed with someone = an accident :P [15:34] Like I said . . . [15:34] yep.. [15:34] does highvoltage got permission for his site? [15:35] I don't know. I'm not in that side of things. [15:36] i needed it.. so i readed the whole trademarks thing.. [15:36] i'm lucky my site is just a blog :) [15:37] Actually, the trademark issue is pretty simple. If it looks like Ubuntu, or sounds like Ubuntu, check with the officials. Depending on the circumstances, it could get approved. If not, then you haven't crossed any lines by using something you shouldn't, and have nothing to worry about [15:38] Copyright and patent are MUCH more difficult. [15:38] copyright = DON'T COPY IT. YOU BASTARD [15:38] Yea, that's about right. [15:38] patent = IT'S MY IDEA,, MYYYYY!!!!! [15:40] the trademark issue is pretty simple, ubuntu the name and logo isn't open source :p [15:40] Yea, but it's gone crazy in this country. It used to be that you couldn't patent something that you couldn't show a physical manifistation of. Now, though, people are patenting such things as clicking a mouse button twice. [15:40] Yep. [15:40] omg.. [15:41] They're getting close to patenting 2+2=4 [15:41] i'm going to patenting,, pressing 3* W [15:41] www. << my patent! [15:41] Except that the Supreme Court is starting to take notice and rein some of this crap back. [15:42] ok, my bureau is broken now..... [15:42] i'm going to stop.. before i destroy more XD === tyche_ is now known as tyche
