[00:33] intel hda [00:33] what kind of setup do u have, optical out? computer speakers? goind to an amp? etc [00:33] on an AMD 780g [00:34] just regular analog out [00:34] shouldn't matter though it worked fine in ubuntu [00:34] and nothing is muted in alsamixer? [00:34] its something specific to mythbuntu [00:34] no [00:35] well mythbuntu don't run gnome so [00:35] you think its the window manager? [00:53] There's various stuff lying around for themoviedb to replace it. I think there's a script on a ticket at svn.mythtv.org you could try. [00:58] ok i'll try that, thx [02:37] Hi There, Does Wubi work with Mythbuntu [02:39] !zinn Wubi [02:39] Sorry I don't know about zinn Wubi [02:39] !Wubi [02:39] Sorry I don't know about Wubi [02:41] and also, can MythTV connect to TV Stations without a Tuner Card? [04:03] Hello out there. I'm having a problem with watching live tv from my front end. Anyone up for helping? [04:11] !blankscreen | coffeebinge [04:11] coffeebinge: If you try to watch tv and are greeted with a blank screen and a return to the menu then please check the permissions on your recording directory. It should be owned by mythtv:mythtv, have permissions of 775, and not be inside your home directory [04:13] !logs [04:13] MythTV logs are stored in /var/log/mythtv/ [04:14] Logs should have something to say too. [04:21] zinn: sorry for the delay. I'm not getting that. I select wathc live tv then it looks like i never selected anything. [04:23] hads: I've checked the logs for both the back end and the front end: Channel(/dev/video0)::TuneTo(1): Error, failed to find channel. Thats the only error message im seeing the the backend that seems to say something about an error. The front end just says it cant watch live tv. [04:23] Zinn is a bot BTW :) [04:23] lol thanks [04:23] Sounds like you're channel frequencies are wrong, that I can't help you with sorry as I don't use analog. [04:24] hads: im using a pvr 500. both tuners are set as mpeg. [04:24] hads: i can also scan for channels in the backend [04:33] Is there anyone that could help me troubleshoot no live tv on my frontend? [04:39] I'm having trouble with 'mythshutdown --setwakeup $time' I have that set in mythtv-setup, so that it will save the waketime to pass to mythwelcome. When the command runs mythbackend logs this error: QTime::fromString: Parameter out of range. I have confirmed that just using the script to set the wakeup time in mythtv-setup sets the bios to wake at the correct time, and that it works. For some reason mythshutdown --setwakeup will [04:39] not accept the time. [07:35] anyone having problems with the imdb script? I don't get any user rating and I get low res covers, but I've seen bug report on the covers but nothing on imdb score? [13:49] toorima what version of mythbuntu are you running? === Guest3497 is now known as whodat [18:07] anyone know how i would go back to the ffmpeg that the latest mythbuntu uses? i recompiled with the latest version and a few things broke. [18:09] whodat, use the source installer to uninstall then install the version in the repo [18:27] I'm having trouble with the 'sudo -H mythshutdown --setwakeup $time' command in mythtv-setup. It won't accept the epoch time even though I've set the time format to time_t in both mythtv-setup and mythwelcome. This is the error in the mythbackend.log http://www.paste2.org/p/110253 [18:27] any ideas on what the problem is? [18:39] if paste2.org still isn't working when someone reads this, here is another paste of the error http://pastebin.com/m5c73f649 [18:48] Hello, got a strange error. Have a Ubuntu 8.10 installation and have added mythtv and lirc. Configured the remote as i have done before but this time i cant get it to work in mythtv. I can use the 4 arrow-keys but that is pretty much all. irw, ircat outputs all buttons fine and i can se that mythfrontend reads the .licrc-file on start. Googled for hours now but can't find any answers. Any ideas ? [18:49] foxbuntu: source installer? [19:16] whodat, yeah, the source you used to compile and install can be used to uninstall === croppa_ is now known as croppa [19:31] i get an error when i try to run ubiquity to install mythbuntu...."ImportError: cannot import name curdir" [19:31] might i have bad install cd? [19:56] z4chh, which disk? [19:58] Standard PC x86 Images (i386) [20:19] foxbuntu: is that a gui app? I was using apt-get [20:19] whodat, you said you compiled and installed ffmpeg [20:19] which means you didnt use apt-get [20:19] but if you used apt-get you didnt compile [20:20] thus my confusion [20:20] :) [20:47] mythtv wont let me change the volume [20:47] and it is really beginning to irritate me [20:52] Seeker` using some sort of optical out? [20:54] nope [20:54] standard 3.5mm [20:54] i think it may have something to do with pulseaudi [21:00] and now the volume control does something [21:00] but only to the front speaker [21:00] ss
