toorimajphillip: using 8.10 upgraded from 8.0400:46
toorimathis was the question if anyone wonders: anyone having problems with the imdb script? I don't get any user rating and I get low res covers, but I've seen bug report on the covers but nothing on imdb score?00:47
toorimaok solved the problem with no user rating, changed a little on imdb.pl so its working now, just the low res posters left to fix, any news anyone?02:02
rhpot1991toorima: what version of mythbuntu are you running?02:02
toorima8.10 upgraded from 8.0402:08
toorimado you guys all get high res covers in mythvideo?02:13
GumbyI just installed mythbuntu 8.10 on my frontend/backend slave and when running mythtv-setup it asks me to stop the backend and I select OK, and then a window comes up, disapears, and then I get asked to restart the backend and then to run mythfilldatabase.  the rest of the configuring is completely skipped.  Has anyone seen this before?02:17
GumbyI've installed mythtv many times before and have never seen this behaviour02:18
rhpot1991toorima: I thought it was fixed, give me a few minutes and I'll check on it02:21
toorimarhpot1991: ok, thx for the help02:27
hadsGumby: Ubuntu has a wrapper script for mythtv-setup and it sounds like the real binary is not running for you. Try running mythtv-setup.real directly and see what the output is.02:29
Gumbyhads: I'll give that a shot thanks02:29
Gumby"QImage::smoothScale: Image is a null image"  this is the only error I get.02:35
Gumbysame issue when running mythtv-setup.real02:36
Gumbyhrm...  also Couldn't find theme metallurgy-osd02:36
Gumbyyet, the theme is installed02:37
GumbyI actually uninstalled the theme and now setup is using "default" quite odd02:39
Gumbyor rather "G.A.N.T"02:40
rhpot1991seems to work fine here toorima02:47
rhpot1991what version of imdb.pl do you have?02:48
rhpot1991and what version of mythvideo: dpkg -l mythvideo |grep ^ii02:49
rhpot1991gotta walk my dogs I'll be back in a bit02:50
toorimarhpot1991: 0.21.0+fixes18722-0ubuntu103:01
foxbuntutoorima, do this: apt-cache policy mythvideo03:04
rhpot1991that is the latest03:10
rhpot1991do locate imdb.pl make sure it only returns this:03:10
rhpot1991/usr/share/mythtv/mythvideo/scripts/imdb.pl03:10
toorimarhpot1991: its the only one in there03:27
toorimasays version 1.3 in imdb.pl tho03:28

toorimayeah03:39
foxbuntudo this: cat /etc/resolv.conf03:40
toorimanameserver 192.168.1.103:40
toorimathat is my router03:41
daandeI have a question about system requirements...could I get away with using this http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=35333&promoid=1034 if I had a dedicated card for transcoding?03:46
rhpot1991toorima: are you seeing the poster res problem on new movies?03:47
rhpot1991new as in ones that weren't in mythvideo before03:47
toorimayeah its only movies that i've added in the last few weeks that are low res03:50
rhpot1991toorima: force this IMDB number on one of them and see if the poster is high or low res: 043338303:58
toorimahmm that one is high res04:06
toorimasorry it took a while, some morron rang the door trying to sell something04:06
daandeI have a question about system requirements...could I get away with using this http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=35333&promoid=1034 if I had a dedicated card for transcoding?04:08
rhpot1991toorima: perhaps the videos you are doing are the problem then04:09
rhpot1991I think it uses a 2nd source if the script doesn't find them from the first04:09
foxbuntudaande, with a good lpia build you might be able to just skate by04:10
rhpot1991or an optimized kernel04:10
rhpot1991I can playback HD on my EEE as long as the network isn't gimping it04:10
rhpot1991and thats a single core atom04:10
toorimarhpot1991: yeah but 2 that are low res are eagle eye and in bruges, those should have high res right?04:11
foxbuntudaande, if your going to use that as a backend and frontend its going to be very tight04:11
rhpot1991looks like thats a pci slot, get me one of those with a pcie and I'm sold04:11
rhpot1991ya I wouldn't do backend on it04:11
hadsHaven't seen any of those with a PCIe yet unfortunately.04:11
foxbuntunope04:12
rhpot1991toorima: clear the data, delete the files associated with it and try again to make sure its not picking up an old one04:12
foxbuntuI have been watching for them too04:12
rhpot1991hads: I saw a single core atom but it wasn't mini itx either04:12
toorimarhpot1991: gonna do that now04:12
rhpot1991I'm pretty sure we are all watching for them with the same idea in mind :)04:13
foxbuntuI am waiting for the price to drop on the core i7 to grab one for testing04:13
hadsToo pricey with a new board and RAM04:14
foxbunturight now yes04:14
foxbuntuwould be 1k for the combo04:14
foxbuntuor near04:14
hadsWhich equates to nearly $2k here :)04:14
foxbuntulol04:15
foxbuntuyes, everything is more expensive on an island :)04:15
hadsUSD = 0.526304:15
foxbuntuUK?04:16
hadsNZ04:16
foxbuntuthats what I thought04:16
foxbuntuNZD > USD ?04:16
foxbuntui dint realize that04:16
hadsYeah, nearly double. US$1 == NZ$1.9something04:17
foxbuntuah04:18
foxbuntuwell remind me not to come to NZ then ;)04:18
hadsNo that works well for you, when you get here you'd have double the money :)04:19
foxbuntuoh im sorry, I was reading that backwards04:19
hadsAnd NZ is cooler ;)04:19
foxbuntuwell Idk about that...I mean you are there :P04:20
toorimahmm removed the covers, new were downloaded and still low res, anyone here has in bruges or eagle eye in high res?04:20
BandCi get blank screen right before login screen with myth 8.10. ati x1250 video card. samsug syncmaster lcd. anyone knows anything about that?04:20
hadshehe. It's actually pretty warm today at 28 degrees (83 for you weirdos) :)04:21

foxbuntublahrus_, ah, do you mean X4500HD?04:26
foxbuntuG45 chipset?04:27
toorimafoxbuntu: tried craigslist? im a system admin, have seen some good network engineer jobs04:27

foxbuntublahrus_, I have an Asus with the same chipset/card04:28
foxbuntuoh04:28

blahrus_well you might be a life saver :)04:28
foxbuntuI have the G4504:28

blahrus_foxbuntu: any suggestions?04:28
foxbuntutoorima, maybe San Fran, San Jose that general area04:29
blahrus_i opened up the xorg, and it's full of nothing . . .04:29
foxbuntublahrus_, yeah, thats the way its handled now04:29
foxbuntumany of the defaults are inserted from elsewhere on boot04:29
blahrus_oh04:29
foxbuntuyou can still edit it and make changes that way04:30
blahrus_which do you suggest?04:30
foxbuntudepends on the issues04:30
blahrus_well let me get these updates done04:31
blahrus_reboot with the HDMI plugged in04:31
foxbuntublahrus_, last I tried the intel driver in 9.04 it had some big issues with the latest cards/chipsets04:31
toorimafoxbuntu: there should be plenty of jobs, try craigslist http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sad/04:31
blahrus_maybe I should just give up for the night :(04:31
foxbuntutoorima, cool, I will have a look, I already looked through Dice.com which has many many choices for those areas too04:32
toorimaok bbl, some ppl came over04:33
foxbuntublahrus_, the intel patch for the G4x chipset just came out, I mean like 7 days ago maybe04:33
blahrus_yea, I knew it would be pushing it getting the board04:33
foxbuntublahrus_, yup04:33
foxbuntublahrus_, but thats why I bought it too04:33
blahrus_foxbuntu: yea :)04:34
blahrus_2.2.4.1-1 is the intel drivers it just downloaded.04:34

foxbuntu;)04:35
foxbuntumaybe once every few weeks04:35
daandecan mythtv play divx/xvid movies?04:35
hadsheh04:35
foxbuntudaande, yes04:36
hadsdaande: Sure, mythvideo is the plugin you want04:36
blahrus_foxbuntu: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E1681112903004:36
foxbunturut oh04:36
blahrus_is the case I ahve, will that lcd howto you have work for it ;)?04:36
daandeim looking into building my gf a media center for christmas heh04:36
foxbuntublahrus_, ah you found that already huh?04:36
foxbuntuI just published that recently04:36
blahrus_:)04:36
foxbuntuglad my wiki is showing up in google searches04:37
foxbuntublahrus_, I have the black and silver versions04:37
blahrus_so I should prolly not be using the devel version?04:37
foxbuntuonly complaint is that the IR sensor is either misplaced or just plain weak04:37
daandewhat type of hardware do you guys suggest the system would need to play dixv/xvid/mp3s/dvds/record tv04:37
hadsHow long is a piece of string? :)04:38
foxbuntudaande, if your going to do HDTV dual core 2.5Ghz or better and a decent vid card04:38
daandewhat about a tuner card with a built in encoder?04:38
foxbuntudaande, or you could wait and get a fresh off the line system from this great vendor ;) www.foxmediasystems.com04:39
foxbuntulol04:39
foxbuntuhads, that one was for you04:39
hadshah, every few weeks eh :)04:39
foxbuntulol04:39
daandehow much are u charging04:39
foxbuntudaande, HVR-1600 is a pretty good card04:39
rhpot1991antec silver is "easier" to setup, I'd say get whichever one is cheaper if you don't really care04:40
rhpot1991I happen to have a silver04:40
foxbuntudaande, not sure on final price yet, but prob between 850-100004:40
daandeto much for me im looking to build one for like $50004:40
pgruettHi all, I feel that this might be an extraordinarily stupid question but am I to ask my stupid mythbuntu question in here?04:40
daandeits for my gfs christmas gift04:40
foxbuntudaande, ah...mine are going to be more top end hardware kind of thing04:41
rhpot1991pgruett: ask away04:41
rhpot1991daande: you should be able to build a nice box for that price if you go amdx204:41
foxbuntuindeed04:41
rhpot1991heck might even be able to squeeze a phenom for that price anymore04:41
foxbuntu4850e is a good choice04:42
rhpot1991I haven't been watching the price of c2d's lately so I can't speak for them04:42
foxbunturhpot1991, tri core maybe04:42
foxbunturhpot1991, E8400 ~130$ I thinks04:42
rhpot1991they had a phenom for $90 over the last weekend, newegg that is04:42
daandeI want it to be small04:42
daandeand nice looking04:42
daandethats my delema04:43
foxbuntudaande, go with the antec case04:43
rhpot1991daande: fuzion is pretty nice04:43
pgruettI've got a kworld dvd maker PCI I'm trying to encourage to speak to my mythbuntu box but, so far, I'm getting a garbled image.  I haven't been able to find any specific support or drivers.04:43
rhpot1991if you want to go smaller than that then you would need to be getting into separate backend and frontends04:43
foxbuntuindeed04:43
daandethats why i was hoping an atom dual core04:43
daandewould do the trick04:44
daandewith a dedicated encoder card04:44
foxbuntupgruett, well im not sure, but if you havent done so try installing the w32codecs and libdvdcss204:44
hadsdaande: I'd say you'd be pushing it04:44
daandei thought so04:44
rhpot1991ya I dunno that it would cut it04:44
rhpot1991atom wasn't meant to be a beast04:44
pgruettI did do that, though earlier when I was trying to play DVDs.04:44
daandebut I thought a dedicated encoder card04:44
rhpot1991daande: your backend normally does other cpu intensive thigns like commflagging, transcoding, etc04:45
daandetook all the strain off the cpu04:45
foxbuntudaande, that doesnt oflload all the proc power needed for MySQL, Commflagging, Transcoding, ect ect04:45
rhpot1991not to mention HD playback is currently very very cpu intensive04:45
daandeI am new to this so I dont even know what commflagging and stuff is04:45
rhpot1991foxbuntu: quit copying my answer :)04:45
blahrus_foxbuntu: do you suggest I download the 8.10 version :)?04:45
foxbuntublahrus_, yes, my X4500HD works well in 8.1004:46
daandewhat if HDTV wasnt an issue?04:46
foxbuntudaande, even still04:46
hadsStill be slow04:46
rhpot1991daande: was there a clock speed mentioned anywhere for it?04:47
foxbuntumuch better off to get microATX + AMDx2 4850e or better04:47
hadsMedia centres do like power.04:47
foxbunturhpot1991, I think the clock on those is 1.604:47
rhpot1991also you want a large area for hard drives for your backend04:47
hadsYeah04:47
daandeno thats what pissed me off04:48
daandethat the ad has no CPU specs04:48
rhpot1991I hope its not misleading and claiming hyperthreading as dual core04:48
hadsMy diskless FE is a mATX Intel04:48
rhpot1991my MBE is a mATX04:48
foxbunturhpot1991, no there really is a dual core atom floating around04:48
rhpot1991foxbuntu: I knew they were coming out, this is the first I've seen them sold04:49
hadsOnly fan is the PSU which makes it barely audible04:49
daandeno04:49
daandeits dual core04:49
rhpot1991I'd venture that a dual core atom could cut SD, I have no proof to back it04:49
daandewith hyperthreading04:49
foxbunturhpot1991, I just remember it in the partner spam I get from Intel all the time04:49
daandeso 4 virtual cores04:49
rhpot1991especially if you can use something like XvMC04:49
ChaorainMy sound card is not working will this help? http://linux.dell.com/wiki/index.php/Ubuntu_8.04/Issues/No_Sound_After_Distribution_Or_Kernel_Upgrade04:49
daandei htink its 1.6Ghz04:49
hadsHT isn't a core04:49
rhpot1991ya HT is faking a core04:49
ChaorainI have a Dell XPS 41004:50
hadsNot very well either04:50
daandehense the word virtual04:50
daandehttp://download.intel.com/design/processor/datashts/320528.pdf04:50
hads*shrug*04:50
rhpot1991problem is you only have pci in that04:50
foxbuntuChaorain, I would go ask a question like that in #ubuntu04:50
rhpot1991so expanding the video will hold you up04:50
daandeHVR-160004:50
daande?04:50
Chaorainok should be the same problem?04:50
blahrus_foxbuntu: your suggestion is: http://www.amazon.com/Hauppauge-1178-WinTV-HVR-1600-Internal-Recorder/dp/B000MGGTY8/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1228365828&sr=1-804:51
blahrus_?04:51
foxbuntublahrus_, yes04:51
blahrus_foxbuntu: will have to check that out, currently have a cheap card in there04:51
blahrus_might wanna update it04:51
rhpot1991foxbuntu: you still seeing random garbage in HDHR recordings sometimes?04:51
foxbuntublahrus_, I have 3 of those currently04:51
foxbunturhpot1991, nope04:52
daandemicroATX with a AMDx204:52
blahrus_side node, I would suggest Intel Core 2 Duo E820004:52
foxbuntublahrus_, as would I04:52
blahrus_that's bang for you buck04:52
foxbuntublahrus_, just more expensive04:52
blahrus_6mb cache, 1333 buss04:52
blahrus_bus*04:52
rhpot1991I can't figure out why, but I see random garbage in mine, like satellite in a storm garbage04:52
foxbuntublahrus_, it blows away AMD in my testing04:52
foxbunturhpot1991, you have a splitter/booster on your cable coming into it?04:53
rhpot1991and I can't reliably make it happen, so I'm thinking signal04:53
blahrus_foxbuntu: yea, it's quite insane of a CPU really, well for spending an extra 50 - 75 bucks04:53
rhpot1991booster04:53
foxbunturhpot1991, pull the booster out04:53
daandehttp://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=33181&vpn=BX80571E5200&manufacture=Intel04:53
foxbuntuthats what fixed mine04:53
rhpot1991and splitters outside04:53
daandeor04:53
daandehttp://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku=34028&vpn=ADV6000DOBOX&manufacture=AMD04:53
rhpot1991well I added the booster to replace splitters04:53
rhpot1991cause I was having worse problems, random skips on firewire recordings04:53
foxbunturhpot1991, I replaced my booster with a splitter and whamo, problem solved on the spot04:54
blahrus_foxbuntu: looks like I am overscalling on all HDMI04:54
rhpot1991foxbuntu: its a 5 way split too though04:54
foxbunturhpot1991, well split before the booster then use the HDHR without04:54
blahrus_3 live CDs has done it04:54
foxbunturhpot1991, I have like 3 splitters before my HDHR04:55
blahrus_the bios screen has done it as well04:55
foxbuntuthus the booster04:55
foxbuntublahrus_, yea, its common with HDMI04:55
rhpot1991foxbuntu: I'll have to mess with it, problem is that I don't want to lose my recordings and don't have time otherwise04:55
rhpot1991couple that with the fact that I can't reproduce it and its a headache04:55
rhpot1991foxbuntu: http://www.mcmelectronics.com/product/33-1022604:55
rhpot1991thats what I have04:55
rhpot1991I have a 2nd one to try outside as well if I ever get around to waterproofing the connections04:56
foxbunturhpot1991, it finally annoyed me enough I ate a recording to test it04:56
foxbuntuhavent had an issue since04:56
rhpot1991I have a ghosting problem as well, so I might have cable issues04:56
blahrus_foxbuntu: is there xorg settings to scale it down?04:56
rhpot1991I just know comcast is gonna point at that and blame everything on it04:57
foxbuntublahrus_, it takes allot of messing around with mode lines and such to get rid of it, its specific stuff to your TV04:57
blahrus_suck.04:57
foxbuntublahrus_, I would check what videos look like on it before going to that trouble04:57
foxbuntublahrus_, I use one of my systems with the overscan and dont notice it in TV at all04:57
blahrus_foxbuntu: so this a crappy TV issue then? all distro's linux and windows will have this issue?04:58
foxbuntublahrus_, its different with different video cards/drivers (and versions)/TVs04:59
foxbuntublahrus_, its a crap shoot to get it to not have the overscan04:59
foxbuntuvia HDMI/DVI05:00
foxbuntusometimes DVI -> HDMI is better than str8 HDMI05:01
foxbuntuVGA is always better05:01
foxbuntublahrus_, you should be able to get the same res and quality of res from VGA with a good cable05:01
foxbuntuand not have the overscan05:02
foxbuntujust make sure to get a 15 pin shielded gold tip cable05:02
blahrus_hurm05:03
blahrus_might have to go that route05:03
blahrus_I should have known better to think I would have this done tonight :)05:03
foxbuntublahrus_, there is no such thing as *done* in mythtv05:03

foxbuntuthat too05:05
foxbuntuthus all my test systems now05:05
blahrus_really shocked there are all these overscan issues05:06
foxbuntublahrus_, the issue is the video cards not grabbing the TV's EDID data properly over the HDMI/DVI ports05:07
foxbuntuand its because there is no real industry standard for doing so05:07
foxbuntuexcept with VGA05:08
blahrus_weird, I guess I just assumed someone like intel would do it right, and figure a way to read them all05:08
foxbuntunot so much the video card's fault as it is the TV05:08
blahrus_is there a known tv copmany that works better than others?05:10
foxbuntuI have had good luck with Samsung, but thats just me05:10
blahrus_hurm05:11
foxbuntuI have three Samsung TV's05:11

foxbuntuyea05:14
foxbuntuyou might be able to adjust it some on the TV as well05:14
blahrus_I assume this issues doesn't happen if the tv has DVI inputs?05:16
rhpot1991for the record too I've seen a lot of 1080p TVs that don't do 1080 resolution over VGA, samsung is one of the few05:17
foxbuntuit depends, it still does sometimes with DVI05:17
foxbunturhpot1991, yes, not many will accept 1920x108005:18
foxbuntuhave to watch out for that05:20
foxbuntuanyways...I gtg, catch you later blahrus_05:20
blahrus_foxbuntu: yup yup, thanks for the help05:20
blahrus_have a good one05:20
aaron_hello. I just got a mythbuntu system up and running and was hoping somebody could help me fix a few problems I'm having, the worst of which is the lack of audio over HDMI?08:09

henrik_how is the weeklys comming along for 8.1014:15
bobbob1016Ubiquity keeps crashing on me when I try to install Mythbuntu Ibex or Hardy, can anyone help?  Ibex itself can install fine, but if I do that, how can I strip it to be just plain mythbuntu, as in take out all the gnome stuff?17:18
superm1bobbob1016, do you have a log of the crash?17:19
superm1/var/log/syslog would be quite helpful17:19
superm1sounds like you found a bug.. it's too late to fix it for intrepid, but you can likely work around it and we'll have it fixed for jaunty17:20
bobbob1016superm1, I didn't know it logged there.  I did try from terminal though, I'll open that file now.17:20
bobbob1016It's as the installer gets to 83% or so17:20
superm1bobbob1016, okay so that's probably the configuring mythtv step17:21
superm1pastebin the log and i'll look17:21
superm1!pastebin | bobbob101617:21
Zinnbobbob1016: when pasting more than 5 lines of data please use http://mythbuntu.pastebin.com so you don't flood the channel.  Then please post the link in the channel.17:21
superm1you can use the pastebinit tool in mythbuntu live disk to do it17:21
superm1pastebinit /var/log/syslog17:21
bobbob1016I would, but the network isn't connecting.17:22
bobbob1016I'll see about copy/pasting to this machine, and posting it from here17:22
bobbob1016copy to flash drive*17:23
bobbob1016This won't post any of the info I put in ubiquity, will it?17:24
superm1unless you ran in debug mode, no17:29
bobbob1016superm1, It has my name, but that's it, I did find for my passwords, and nothing.  I'm going to do a find/replace then post it.  You think I can just try to boot anyways now?17:34
bobbob1016superm1, http://pastebin.ca/127607017:37
superm1bobbob1016, lets see.  word of warning, the usernames and passwords could possibly have been the cause17:38
superm1did you use any non alphanumeric characters?17:38
superm1i think there is a bug opened about something going on there17:38
bobbob1016superm1, No, just letters and numbers17:38
superm1okay lets see.  looking at the diff17:38
bobbob1016I looked and saw something about not finding a partition table, but not sure.17:38
superm1bobbob1016, okay so two things stand out17:39
superm11: [ 1741.515052] Buffer I/O error on device sdg1, logical block 117:39
superm1a disk of yorus is having errors17:39
bobbob1016That's my flash drive17:39
superm1ah okay so you just pulled it out with ejecting17:39
bobbob1016yeah17:39
superm1okay so the other thing, are you installing over the same drive again?17:40
superm1it looks like it didn't format the drive the first time17:40
superm1which caused a problem17:40
superm1ln: creating symbolic link `/target/home/user/.mythtv/mysql.txt' File exists17:41
superm1so if you remove /target/home/user/.mythtv  and try again it should be fine17:41
superm1please file a bug against ubiquity (http://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity) and attach this log there17:41
superm1assign it to me (Mario Limonciello: superm1) and i'll take care of it for jaunty17:42
bobbob1016superm1, Ok, one sec, on the phone, sorry17:42
bobbob1016superm1, Sorry about that, going to remove .mythtv from the target home now.  Quick question though, should I use 64bit or 32bit with an AMD X3 (it is 64bit), I'm planning on installing coreavc in mplayer, so not sure which it'd work better with.17:58
superm1bobbob1016, you are better off with 32 bit if you are messing with coreavc17:59
superm1bobbob1016, if it's that powerful of a machine though - an X3, you probably can get away without coreavc17:59
bobbob1016superm1, That is what I thought.  I want coreavc since it chugs with 1080p x26417:59
superm1bobbob1016, an alternative is the new NVIDIA VDPAU stuff18:00
bobbob1016and the people in #mplayer said it won't work too well, but with coreavc it'd work fine, since coreavc does multithread and mplayer doesn't yet18:00
superm1not sure what GPU you have in there though18:00
bobbob10168200gs18:00
bobbob1016nvidia18:00
bobbob1016superm1, I tried it on an pentium-dual-core 1.6ghz with no luck, I'll try it with this though.  One thing I still have to play with is the 8200 has builtin hdmi out, and since I have it to my receiver not my TV, it can't seem to get the right resolution, and can't pipe sound out.  But I'll play with that.18:04
superm1bobbob1016, ah too bad. the 8200gs isn't supported with vdpau: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/lists/mythtv/dev/35733218:05
bobbob1016superm1, I have an 8400 too, but no hdmi out, so not sure which to use.18:06
bobbob1016I know they have the new hybrid-sli which does mobo gpu + pcie gpu, but not sure where it'll output18:07
superm1not sure either18:07
bobbob1016I'll do the coreavc trial first though.  Might be an idea to include some coreavc installer thing, as in you give it your serial and the exe you download from coreavc, and the installer does it automatically.  Might be able to get some referral $ from coreavc, not sure if it violates any rules though, just a thought anyways18:10
lagawe kinda had such a setup, but h264 support in ffmpeg improved a lot and we decided we didn't want to support a proprietary solution18:11
bobbob1016laga, Oh, ok.  Any way I could find said setup again, or better to go manually?18:12
lagabetter go manually, it's not too hard18:12
bobbob1016laga, Ok, just thought I'd ask.18:13
bobbob1016superm1, I'm at 90%+ now, that seems to have done it.18:13
bobbob1016superm1, Seems like someone else found this a while ago https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/17337818:18
superm1bobbob1016, odd that it was fixed back then but came back18:18
superm1file a second bug, but mention that other one in the bug18:18
bobbob1016Now I'm getting grub error 22, means it can't find the partition, right?18:20
superm1that's usually a side effect of odd booting scenarios where you need to install grub somewhere special (see last advanced button in installer)18:21
bobbob1016I rebooted again, and it found it....  Not sure, but ok...  I'll do the bug soon18:22
bobbob1016Ok, I posted and assigned it to you.18:25
whodathow do i revert back to the default ffmpeg mythbuntu .21 uses? the one i installed isnt working quite right.22:13
jphillipwhodat well where did you install the other from?22:35
silverdulcetI'm having some issues with livetv, intermittently when I change channels, the channel will be distorted, but the sound will work fine. If I exit out of viewing livetv and start again it fixes it. If I don't it seems to kill the xserver, since gdm restarts and deposits me at the login window. Hardware is AMD64 3200+ and an HVR-1600. I'm only using the DVB for OTA tuning.23:19
silverdulcetrecording programs works without issue.23:19
silverdulcetany ideas on what to check?23:20
jaxesdoes anyone here us a keyspan remote?23:37
