NCommanderStevenK, what was the name of the spec that we talked about doing cross-installations of Ubuntu? (I'm trying to find it ATM)02:10
StevenKHuh? Cross-installations?02:10
NCommanderThe spec where you can install an ARM system from a x86/amd64 host02:10
NCommanderUsing an ISO of the CD02:10
StevenKThat so wasn't it02:11
NCommanderWell, yes, that's why I'm trying to find it to refresh my memory :-P02:11
StevenKhttps://wiki.ubuntu.com/specs/OfflineInstaller02:11
NCommanderAh, that's it02:12
NCommanderAnyway, I took a peek at how emdebian handles package installation/removal02:12
* StevenK goes for lunch02:13

ograthebishop, filled positions get removed from the page :)14:36
thebishopah, nice14:36
thebishopI don't have ARM experience, but i have done some hacking on PSP (MIPS), and PS3 (Cell), plus Ubuntu has been my primary development platform since the first release14:37

loolasac: Do you have the xulrunner-1.9 1.9.0.5 tarball already?16:30
asaclool: currently copying to chinstrap:~asac/1.8.1.19/ffox/17:03
asacbut its not yet out ;)17:04
loolasac: Oh ok; I'll wait til it's public18:06
asaclool: will you update the packaging branch? e.g. merge from .hardy?18:06
asaclet me do that for you18:07
loolI did already18:09
asaclool: great. seeing that. well done!18:10
asaclool: a typo in the USN number :/18:14
asaclool: can you redo the merge when i uncommit or should i commit on top and "re-release"?18:15
asaclool: pong ;)18:16
asacerr ping!18:16
asaclool: ok committed on top and RE-RELEASED ;)18:18
loolasac: Sorry was afk for dinner and bath19:30
loolasac: I get no new rev here; I guess you didn't push yet19:31
asaclool: hmm i have a bind ... let me check19:34
asaclool: are you using lp:~... url for merging? or http?19:34
asaclool: oh sorry. that was firefox ;)19:34
asacso not for you19:34
asaclool: check that USN is 69019:35
asac-119:35
bhundvenI guess I am still a little confused by all of the recent name changes. Getting a G1U CMXP, this would be mid or umpc?19:43
bhundvens/G1U/Q1U/19:48
zackrhey, so what's the magic to compile a new kernel on ubuntu mobile? fakeroot make-kpkg --initrd kernel_image kernel_headers exits with debian/ruleset/misc/checks.mk:36 "Error. I do not know where the kernel image goes to [kimagedest undefined] ..."19:56
loolasac: ssh19:59
loolasac: I thought you meant the mobile branch, but you meant yours19:59
loolhmm no20:00
bhundvenah... mid20:00
loolasac: USN is correct in all cases20:00
loolzackr: I'd check the ubuntu kernel wiki on the ubuntu wiki20:00
zackrlool: yea, i haven't seen anything there20:04
loolhttp://www.google.fr/search?q=ubuntu+build+custom+kernel&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=com.ubuntu:fr:unofficial&client=firefox-a20:09
loolhttps://help.ubuntu.com/community/Kernel/Compile20:09
zackryes, that doesn't answer any of the questions. i don't know what arch/subarch combination mid-8.04.1-menlow uses and randomly trying them out is not optimal20:13
loolOh I thought you didn't find the wiki; nm20:14
loolzackr: You can get the config file from the lpia kernel or the git repo20:14
loolWe use the standard hardy kernel20:15
loolBut for the lpia arch20:15
NCommanderhey all20:18
zackrlool: yea, the config isn't the problem, i copied it over. it's the make-kpkg that just refuses to run with the defaults. i could compile it all by hand and then change the grub also by hand, but obviously one of the reason for running a distro on those things is not have to do that =) 20:18
loolzackr: TBH I found make-kpkg a horrible tool and regret having looked at it in the past20:19
loolIt's hard to debug, complex and error prone  :-/20:20
loolzackr: You could take the kernel source package and build it like a regular debian package though20:20
zackri need 2.6.28. i need gem and pat patches in20:21
zackri'll probably just compile it all by hand20:21
loolWe have 2.6.28 in jaunty20:23
loolBut not for lpia20:23
loologra: http://article.gmane.org/gmane.comp.handhelds.moblin.devel/101220:30
lool10 MB tarball20:31
loolThe fact that there are separate tarballs for various distros kind of worries me20:31
