[01:23] well so myth can change channels on comcast box === stoneymonster is now known as stoneymonster|aw === stoneymonster|aw is now known as stoneymonster [06:19] upgrade broke lirc [16:46] im having a slight problem getting traffic outside of my internal net to connect to my mythweb. i have ports forwarded, and am using a dynip service, and even tried my IP address, nothing works. i even logged into my firewall and port forwarded 80 to my box. [16:47] is there some kind of setting in mythbuntu i have to change or am i missing something? [16:48] never mind, i think i got it :) [19:32] !help [19:32] !help Use ! followed by a topic to get help on the topic (if it exists) example: !logs. [20:26] it looks like it does something like amixer aset PCM XX [20:26] which is a simple modification of the mixer setting that doesn't take in to account capture and playback [20:41] I guess it is a mythstream issue [20:47] When I go into mythstream the frontend just closes? [20:57] I have mythbunut 8.10 and installed from cd [20:57] can you file a bug report? [20:57] http://bugs.launchpad.net/mythbuntu/ [21:02] ok === croppa_ is now known as croppa [23:12] hey whats the easiest way to download the weekly -fixes source and then apply a patch / rebuild the deb? [23:14] that's been documented in the forums by superm1. something involving "apt-get source" and "debuild" [23:15] i know how to patch it normally [23:16] but the source tree seems to be missing the package stuff in it [23:16] if u do an apt-get source mythtv-backend-master you get the latest stable, not the weekly -fixes because its missing [23:17] from browsing the tree tho you can find the tarball of mythtv-fixes up through 19084 but not the deb source [23:17] you need to add a deb-src entry in your sources.list [23:17] laga: you may be right. let me go dig it up [23:17] totally forgot about taht [23:17] a smarter way would be getting a -fixes checkout [23:17] and use https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-mythtv/mythplugins/mythplugins-fixes and https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-mythtv/mythtv/mythtv-fixes [23:18] https://code.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-mythtv/ - more stuff [23:18] so off the mythbuntu site there is a mirror for weeklybuilds but its not a launchpad link [23:18] what's the different? [23:19] difference? [23:19] launchpad holds the source which is used to build the source packages which is then pushed to the ppa [23:20] but an apt-get source would be useful for getting the code to build a package, no? [23:20] you can assemble that by hand by checking out -fixes from trac and getting a copy of debian/ from launchpad [23:20] which is a bit better since you can use bzr for version control [23:22] wont the debian/ from launchpad be specific to the version that's checked out since it has all the patches in it? [23:22] you can remove patches in debian/patches/00list [23:22] we do that automagically in the weekly builds script [23:26] laga: so i should remove all the patches in 00list if im pulling from launchpad [23:26] and then patch appropriately [23:27] it'll tell you which patches are failing. [23:27] one of the patches needs to be updated, i'm gonna do that soon [23:28] okay - im just trying to understand the whole packaging thing a little more and how the dev stuff works -probably should be having this discussion in -dev instead [23:29] just try it and you'll find your way around [23:29] there's also, like, documentation around - building debian packages is not rocket science [23:29] i'm going to bed, ttyl [23:32] later on - thanks for pointing me in the right direction
