[22:21] Rocket2DMn: either, but you probably don't need to push your branch to Launchpad at this stage, unless you particularly want to. Publishing the branch is optional [22:21] as per a report earlier, my makefile was broken [22:22] i thought you had merged the fix [22:22] i also couldnt get yelp to show any content when i ran "yelp something.xml" [22:22] the only broken bit in the makefile was the bit that generates a pdf of the serverguide, you're unlikely to use that. But yes, I merged the fix [22:22] to check your branch is up to date, run "bzr update" [22:23] Tree is up to date at revision 146. [22:23] as for yelp, unfortunately yelp has an awkward bug which means that "yelp something.xml" doesn't work. You need to give it the full path, so "yelp /ubuntu/ubuntu-doc/repos/ubuntu-jaunty/something/C/something.xml" [22:23] Rocket2DMn: in what way is your makefile broken? [22:24] ah ok got yelp working, thanks for that [22:25] http://paste.ubuntu.com/104133/ [22:25] looks like im missing something from docbook [22:25] ("yelp `pwd`/something.xml" is often easier to type if you're in the same directory as the file you wish to view [22:25] thanks dsas___ , thats exactly what i did :) [22:26] ok, that error isn't broken, you're just missing the necessary libraries to build html from xml [22:26] try "apt-get build-dep ubuntu-docs" to get all the possible necessary ones [22:27] hi there dsas___ [22:27] ah i think thatll do that mdke , why didnt i think of that :( [22:27] probably b/c i figured build-essential was adequate [22:27] it's not really obvious :) [22:27] I can't recall if it's on the wiki [22:28] if it is, i didnt see it [22:28] was just looking at that, it's not. [22:28] probably should be on this page - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DocumentationTeam/SystemDocumentation/Checking [22:28] hi there mdke [22:28] i'll add it [22:30] ok the docs built on my desktop here, lets see how long they take on the old laptop [22:31] shouldn't be too bad just to build the English ones [22:31] it's the translations that really blow away the cpu [22:31] yeah, the laptop is going on 5 years old though [22:31] it will be fine :) [22:32] yeah im sure it will make it [22:32] maybe ill fiddle with it at the LUG meeting tonight [22:33] great [22:33] so do we prefer to make patches and put them in bug reports? [22:33] I'm off for an early night, cya all [22:33] alright, thanks, see ya [22:33] Rocket2DMn: yes, that's the best way to ensure things don't get lost [22:33] ok [22:33] ciao [23:32] mdke: i have updated the stats http://ubuntu-docs-stats.tla.ro/ubuntu-8.10/
