DaSkreechat least one release cycle20:57
DaSkreechare we waiting for a kubuntu.org article to announce or can we announce in #kubuntu when ready?21:47
=== rdieter is now known as rdieter_away
stdinDaSkreech: the packages aren't in the ppa yet21:51
DaSkreechI'm aware21:51
DaSkreechthey need to be copied21:51
stdinand then I'd rather wait for kubuntu.org to put some instructions up, so I can put it in the topic21:52
DaSkreechI'm just asking if we are waiting on an article (which gets linked in the topic) or if once it's up we can tell people to grab em21:52
stdinthen update the bot's factoids...21:52
DaSkreechMe too21:52
DaSkreechbut people are staying awake just to get the packages21:52
stdinthey do realise the'll all get like 5 KB/s with all those people hitting the one server :p21:53

jussi01claydoh: nice work. looks good22:55
claydohjussi01 : thanks, it was rough as I am working through a few kidney stones, but the work helped distract me a little from the hurt :)23:02
jussi01ouch23:03
claydohyes23:03
claydohx323:03
jussi01claydoh: its a nice post though. someone should transfer the guts of it to the quassel wiki.23:04
claydohI plan to, just wanted to put it up somewhere first23:04
tarimariJontheEchidna: Bug: 4.2 final plasma crashes when plamoid world clock it's used (marble)23:06
tarimariJontheEchidna: there must be also mess up in hal, because sound cards and power managements does not work23:06
tarimariJontheEchidna: aopart from the upgrade, should i install some packages? what are the minimum requried packages?23:06
JontheEchidnathe upgrade should give you all you need23:06
tarimarikdebase-workspace should be installed by itself for example? at my own upgrade i had to install saperately23:07
tarimarimaybe hardware does not work because i started from tty6 with starx. i did so because from tty7 it did not load when i alt+ctrl+backspace so to recognize external monitor23:08
tarimariany idea?23:08
tarimarii ll reboot. i ll ask again later23:08
Tonio_some good news23:15
Tonio_Riddell: I seem to have been able to connect correctly with PNM...23:16
Tonio_Riddell: it has shown significant progress today...23:16
RiddellTonio_: yay23:17
Tonio_Riddell: also, it seems that any hald update crashes plasma.... along with dbus restarts and so on...23:17
Tonio_Riddell: that will not make it easy to deal with SRU...23:17
Tonio_I can't seem to be able to create an openvpn connection.... still unperfect :)23:19
jussi01Tonio_: how did you do it? just quit knetworkmanger and add the plasmoid, then connect? or?23:27
bobesponjahey23:29
bobesponjais it planed to add ruby-plasma to jaunty like we have python-plasma?23:29
Tonio_jussi01 in my case yep it worked, but after a reboot23:38
Tonio_jussi01 take care of cleaning your old connections too, since those are badly stored.23:39
jussi01Tonio_: ahh. ok then.23:39
earleHello peeps. Sorry to bug a developer channel, but I wasn't having much luck over in #kubuntu.23:40
jussi01Tonio_: thanks for the info23:40
earleAfter having installed 4.2 via the experimental PPA, I've found that nothing is happening after submitting the login dialog.23:41
earleIE, kdm starts up fine, but that's about it. I'm not sure how to debug this issue.23:41
tarimariJontheEchidna: ok , forget the problems i mentioned before. all ok now23:47
tarimariJontheEchidna: i was asking you about powerdevil. it is not a package actually, but rather thebattery monitor plasmoid23:48
tarimarithe matter is, does it conflict with kde-power-guidance?23:48
JontheEchidnaI think I have heard of that happening23:48
tarimariif one is at powersave and the other at performance, then what will happen? should i uninstall something?23:48
tarimariwhat u have heard?23:48
JontheEchidnathat they fight each other for control of stuff23:49
tarimariso since powerdevil cannot be uninstalled, i must uninstall guidance?23:49
JontheEchidnayou could turn off powerdevil from the services section in systemsettings23:50
tarimarilet me see23:51
tarimariyou are right23:51
tarimarii can also do that23:51
ScottKclaydoh: Nice Quassel how-to.  I did change the Freenode network name to "Kubuntu IRC" in the last upload to make it more obvious.23:52
ScottKclaydoh: Since you'd had it previously installed, I don't think you saw that.23:52
* ScottK surrenders control of his laptop to a $TEENAGER for a bit. Back later.23:53
tarimariquestion about powedevil. what means presentation mode. and what is the difference between agressive, extreme and simple powersave?23:56
tarimariin the past i had with kdeguidance monitor just dynamic and powersave (apart from performance). which is the corresponding for this dynamic and this powersave?23:57
tarimarithey told me kdeguidancemonitor is a kubuntu script. for kubuntu what should work better? powerdevil or kdeguidance?23:57
Riddellthey're just two apps which do much the same thing (talking to HAL)23:58
Riddell#kubuntu for user questions23:59
