* DanaG wonders if KMS for Radeon will end up in Jaunty.02:06
DanaGEven if we don't get Plymouth, I'd love to have a good framebuffer resolution.02:06
RAOFDanaG: I think the answer is "unlikely".  I don't think KMS for is slated for 2.6.29, and we're not likely to pull in .30 :)02:08

DanaGWill we at least get 2.6.29?02:09
DanaGIf so, that's good news -- it means I'll be able to use a daemon for the HP 3D DriveGuard (accelerometer and LED).02:09

shadowhywindhay all I am having an issue, my left click on my touchpad, is acting as a left click and a paste command at the same time, anyone have any ideas?15:15
maxbshadowhywind: First, try installing todays updates, including xserver-xorg-input-synaptics 0.99.3-2ubuntu215:16
shadowhywindk, installing that one15:17
shadowhywindwell all of them (is what i meant)15:17
rainmanp7:)15:19
shadowhywindwish me luck going to reboot (have to anyways)15:21
mlpugShuttleworth wrote 8.9.08 when introducing Jaunty: "Another goal is the blurring of web services and desktop applications". Will there be something specific on this in the final release?15:22
mlpugsome desktop widget concept or something?15:23
BUGabundo1mlpug: I haven't seen anything like that come up, yet15:24
shadowhywindTHANK YOU!!!!!!!15:24
shadowhywindmy touchpad is once again useable15:25
maxbwish mine was :-/15:25
shadowhywindmaxb: sorry to hear that, same issue as mine?15:26
maxbNo, on mine it's that edge-scrolling is broken in the new driver. I've rolled back to 0.15.2-0ubuntu8 meanwhile15:27
shadowhywindoh (just checked mine and its working, hehe15:28
maxbSeems to be hardware-specific15:28
rainmanp7Wine 1.1.4 now works with the new updates applied to jaunty. The update manager is working for it as well to upgrade it :)15:36
rainmanp7I just got the ibex version to roll into it :)15:37
shadowhywindalso another question. At one time i was able to decide if my CPU was set for dynamic/powersave/etc.. I don't have that anymore, is there a package i have to isntall for that?15:37
BUGabundo1shadowhywind: that's no longer recommend15:38
BUGabundo1you should read mgf blog to get the full picture15:38
shadowhywindBUGabundo1: why?15:38
BUGabundo1why should hw or kernel managing it15:38
BUGabundo1but you can still set uid to the applet and control the CPU15:38
BUGabundo1but it will be unsuported15:39
shadowhywindbecause when I am on power I like it being set for Dynamic, but when on power set it to powersave15:39
BUGabundo1http://mjg59.livejournal.com/15:39
BUGabundo1and search for it15:39
shadowhywindthat and the guidance-powermanager hasn't shown me using my full CPU potiential yet15:40
BUGabundo1there should be 4 or 5 posts about it, from last year15:40
BUGabundo1shadowhywind: yeah I agree too15:40
BUGabundo1but it seems the the GURUs believe that powersave actually uses MORE power15:40
BUGabundo1'cause it makes the CPU take longer to finish15:40
shadowhywindwell true15:41
BUGabundo1but as I said, you can set uid it.... so prob worked around15:41

Aondodyf  call on nvidia to support the X version or to release an open source driver for anyone else to fix it! :D17:25
maxbAondo: nVidia have already released a version supporting Jaunty's X, and it's in the repositories17:26
dyfi don't know.. it seems that i have 295 updates pending.. i'll update packages and see17:27
dyfso do i just install nvidia-glx or something? i think it should've been installed by default17:27
