[15:49] hi [16:41] hey, goshawk === playya__ is now known as playya [17:31] is there any possibility to run ubuntu on armv4? [17:32] i read that the ubuntu arm version will be for armv5 [17:33] but there are devices, like the well known Openmoko Freerunner, that uses armv4 [17:33] the ubuntu port is actually focused on armv7 ... [17:34] thought since it is based on debian it inherits armv5 compatibility by default [17:34] there might be some v7 optimized libs soon though [17:34] v4 isnt actually in focus [17:35] wait.. as long as i know debian focuses on armv4, in fact there is debian running or Freerunner. [17:36] right, but ubuntus port is based on the armv5 port [17:36] and even that is a compromise [17:37] there are currently performance tests going on about v7 vs v5 optimized builds [17:37] you lose a lot if you are building for armv4 but target v7 [17:38] but can i still run the code? [17:38] i don't care performances [17:38] we dont build for armv5 [17:38] as i said above [17:38] ok [17:38] i doubt armv5 compiled binaries run right away on armv4 [17:41] oki [17:41] thanks :)
