=== Martyn is now known as Guest71661 === Martyn- is now known as Martyn [00:48] snookie_, are are you trying to do? We do not support cross-compilation of Ubuntu packages [00:48] hey lool, are you still around? If so, can you point me to your fis tool? [06:01] hey ogra, you awake? [06:07] NCommander, good morning [06:08] hey cooloney [06:09] NCommander, where are you located? [06:09] i am in China [06:09] Rochester, NY [06:12] NY? oh, it is middle night, right? [06:12] Right :-) [06:15] i bought a LCD and boot up my babbage board with the SD LIVE image from ogra [06:15] Score :-) [06:15] * NCommander has also been working on porting the alternate installer [06:16] it the ethernet in redboot ok on your side? [06:17] Ethernet works in RedBoot, but you need to either have it get an IP address via BOOTP, or set one via the fconfig command [06:17] There are issues with 2.6.28 kernels and latency w.r.t. to Ethernet. [06:18] ok, so i can download my kernel to the board in redboot via tftp and store it into the SD card, right? [06:49] cooloney, its easier just to XMODEM It over serial unless you already have the tftp server and friends setup [06:53] NCommander, thx. i will try [06:54] currently, the output resolution of my babbage is 640x480 [06:54] do you know how to change it to 800x600 or bigger? [06:54] The VGA port is hardware limited to 800x600 [06:54] But I haven't run X on my Babbage in quite awhile, and last time I did, it just did the right hting [06:59] ok, currenty, i want to try my own kernel and root fs. [06:59] for root fs, should i follow the wiki to build it from scrach? [07:01] NCommander, for the root fs, you built it from scratch? [07:02] No, I believe I used ogra's live image [07:04] OK, i see, thanks [07:04] ogra is also in US? or UK? [07:35] cooloney: ogra is in .de [07:36] amitk, thanks [08:15] NCommander: http://svn.nslu2-linux.org/svnroot/fis/trunk/ [08:19] lool, oooh, handy. I'm working on getting a local d-cd setup :-) === Mirell_ is now known as Mirell === Stskeepz is now known as Stskeeps [15:10] Güt Morgen [15:15] ogra : Is the work done for this image relevant also to getting an image for the OMAP3 EVM board? [15:16] no, we dont do any work on omap ths release [15:17] (the script expects to find a distro kernel inside the image it converts, there are no distro kernels for omap atm) [15:20] *nod* [15:20] what's the probability of a drop today? [15:23] Given the progress this weekend? [15:31] Martyn, What sort of "drop" do you seek? I'm not sure the script in question will work for anything other than imx51 [15:33] persia : Ogra/lool/Ncommander/amitk have been working towards another live image. There were some issues related to RedBoot, specifically aound having to fill in the -s parameter for boot. They were playing around with padding the ramdisk [15:33] to make it a predictable size. [15:35] Right. I've been watching that traffic. [15:36] But yes, that's specific. I just wanted to make sure you weren't looking for something else towards which I could point you :) [15:36] Unfortunately, in this case, I don't have any sort of answer. [15:41] yep, and I think ogra stepped out for a bite to eat [15:42] I'll keep working on getting ext2 working on redboot [15:42] since we need that on my project [15:42] I'm also going to keep working on getting the network driver more stable. Right now it's a bit of a pile of fail. [15:43] redboot+ext2 would be awfully nice. You're using a regular /boot? [15:44] Trying [15:44] although I'd be fine with it working from flash [15:44] That'd be extra cool. [15:44] Frankly, for the project I'm on, I'm more interested in getting redboot working over raw PCI [15:44] I already have a u-boot that can do TCP over PCI-e/PCI [15:45] but getting it working on mx51 is a nonstarter right now [15:45] I'm waiting for fsl to push a u-boot port that I can start from [15:47] I'm headed to the office. See you in 15-20 minutes. [15:47] Have a good trip :) === giedz_ is now known as lucious === lucious is now known as giedz === giedz is now known as lucious === lucious is now known as luciousx77 [16:12] Okay, @office [16:26] ping? [18:34] re [18:34] ogra: Are we building the usb net modules?
