[17:13] not really appropriate [17:14] it reads more like a blog post than anything else [17:14] I'm pulling it [17:15] MTecknology: think you might want to ask us before posting [17:44] when Jaunty Beta comes ? [17:44] in a few hours if all goes well [17:44] ok :) [17:46] james_w: are you a developer ? [17:47] I'm a MOTU, yeah [17:48] nice [17:48] i'm just a part of the dutch documentation team, (for 2 weeks now :p ) [17:51] james_w: can you ping me when it is released ? [17:52] I'll probably be gone by then sorry [17:52] ok [17:52] ETA is about 4 hours I believe [17:52] but that could easily change [17:53] boredandblogging: sorry, I'd pull it if you didn't already. [17:53] ok, does it show up on http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/jaunty/ ? [17:53] boredandblogging: If it was written more like an article and less like a blog would it be good for the fridge? - Not that I'll put it back at all [17:54] Tumie: I think so [18:51] boredandblogging: oh - the reason I put it on the Fridge is because I considered it advocacy [19:48] james_w: is ext4 safe to use ? [20:37] http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/jaunty/ , he's empty ! [21:17] Tumie: I wouldn't use ext4 if you don't have good backups [21:18] ok, so it still isn't safe? [21:19] well, no file system is safe [21:19] but it is still quite new, so there would be a higher chance of problems [21:20] plus some changes in behaviour that it has are causing some issues that you may have heard about [21:20] i heard that some files are stored in the RAM for a long time, before placed on the harddisk [21:21] yeah, that's the gist of it [21:21] most filesystems do that, but the cases where it happens on ext4 are a bit different [21:22] and does the beta comes in 10 minutes, or can i go for a good night sleep ?
