hggdh | nhandler, thank you, will do. But I expected the deb-src to be as up-to-date as the binary packages... nevertheless... pull-lp-source, here I come ;-) | 00:06 |
---|---|---|
nhandler | hggdh: Do you have jaunty deb-src lines in /etc/apt/sources.list? | 00:07 |
hggdh | nhandler, yes. I actually only have Jaunty entries nowadays | 00:09 |
BUGabundo | can some one mark bug 354844 as wishbug ? | 00:10 |
ubottu | Launchpad bug 354844 in gnome-app-install "gnome-app-install should offer tasksell " [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/354844 | 00:10 |
hggdh | BUGabundo, sorry, only now I saw your question | 00:14 |
BUGabundo | hggdh: np | 00:14 |
BUGabundo | 1min is not long | 00:14 |
hggdh | heh... I was talking about the question you posed me about 1 HOUR ago | 00:15 |
BUGabundo | ahhh | 00:15 |
BUGabundo | LOLOL | 00:15 |
BUGabundo | what was I? | 00:15 |
BUGabundo | *it | 00:16 |
BUGabundo | I don't remember | 00:16 |
hggdh | wishlisted | 00:16 |
hggdh | about your patch | 00:17 |
BUGabundo | ahh lol | 00:17 |
BUGabundo | I've request a merge | 00:17 |
hggdh | and the answer is... I do not know. Not good in that area | 00:17 |
BUGabundo | let asac process bug mail to catch up | 00:17 |
BUGabundo | it was just my 1st | 00:17 |
BUGabundo | then I made 3 more! | 00:17 |
cwillu | bryce_, silly question, do you check your email on weekends? | 00:17 |
BUGabundo | it was so easy | 00:17 |
BUGabundo | cwillu: aahaha | 00:17 |
cwillu | BUGabundo, finally got that kernel bisect finished, hopefully ext4 will stop crashing soon :) | 00:18 |
BUGabundo | I still don't understand what X has to do with Ext4 | 00:19 |
asac | BUGabundo: you patch was against mbpi ... you requested merge against NM ... wrong ;) | 00:19 |
BUGabundo | yeah let me see | 00:20 |
BUGabundo | I just followed LP recommendation | 00:20 |
asac | i am off now. i rejected the merge because it was against wrong branch. do the same against mobile-broadband-provider-info | 00:20 |
BUGabundo | ~network-manager/network-manager/trunk (branch details)– development focus | 00:20 |
BUGabundo | bad LP | 00:21 |
asac | for mbpi? | 00:21 |
asac | thats wrong then. always request merge against whatever branch you started on | 00:21 |
BUGabundo | asac: I can't find it using search | 00:21 |
BUGabundo | mobile-broadband-provider-info | 00:21 |
asac | BUGabundo: well. you started with some branch. use that one ;) | 00:21 |
BUGabundo | returns nothing | 00:21 |
asac | BUGabundo: use https://code.launchpad.net/... | 00:22 |
asac | and append whatever is after the lp: | 00:22 |
asac | i gave you | 00:22 |
BUGabundo | I used https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~network-manager/mobile-broadband-provider-info/mobile-broadband-provider-info.ubuntu | 00:22 |
asac | yes. so that branch is where you should ask merge into | 00:22 |
BUGabundo | strange | 00:22 |
BUGabundo | maybe I got lost along the way | 00:22 |
asac | ;) | 00:23 |
asac | thats ok | 00:23 |
BUGabundo | LP is confusing for new users | 00:23 |
asac | first merge request | 00:23 |
asac | is confusing for sure | 00:23 |
asac | you can just ask for ~network-manager/mobile-broadband-provider-info/mobile-broadband-provider-info.ubuntu | 00:23 |
asac | in the lp field | 00:23 |
asac | that should work | 00:23 |
asac | maybe search for "mobile-broadband-provider-info.ubuntu" | 00:23 |
BUGabundo | Invalid value | 00:24 |
asac | BUGabundo: do the same for the other 2 branches ;) | 00:24 |
asac | you will find it ;) | 00:24 |
BUGabundo | bah! | 00:24 |
asac | the LP search is really borked | 00:25 |
BUGabundo | seems so | 00:26 |
asac | i would think that the ~network-manager/... path from above should work | 00:26 |
BUGabundo | https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~bugabundo/network-manager/bug353957/+register-merge | 00:26 |
BUGabundo | doesn't allow me to request what you asked | 00:26 |
asac | BUGabundo: the problem is that you pushed your branch to ~network-manager/network-manager | 00:26 |
asac | thats wrong | 00:26 |
BUGabundo | ahh | 00:26 |
asac | it should have been: ~network-manager/mobile-broadband-provider-info/... | 00:26 |
BUGabundo | it was what I was told on #LP | 00:27 |
BUGabundo | I'll pull and push again | 00:27 |
asac | BUGabundo: yeah. please remember to delete the other branches ;) | 00:27 |
asac | otherwise they will always show up as network-manager branches | 00:27 |
asac | BUGabundo: anyway. thumbs up. good work. i will look at the merges tomorrow for mbpi | 00:28 |
hggdh | question re. bug 354542 and bug 129514: obviously, 129514 is a general case, and 354542 a specific (perhaps even basic one). I masked the former a dup of the latter. Is this wrong? | 00:28 |
ubottu | Launchpad bug 354542 in xchat "Cannot change language of spell checker (dup-of: 129514)" [Undecided,Incomplete] https://launchpad.net/bugs/354542 | 00:28 |
ubottu | Launchpad bug 129514 in xchat "enable selecting spell check language by channel" [Wishlist,Triaged] https://launchpad.net/bugs/129514 | 00:28 |
* asac now off | 00:28 | |
BUGabundo | bzr: ERROR: Permission denied: "/~bugabundo/network-manager/mobile-broadband-provider-info/mobile-broadband-provider-info": : Cannot create branch at '/~bugabundo/network-manager/mobile-broadband-provider-info/mobile-broadband-provider-info' | 00:28 |
hggdh | bdmurray, pls see my question above | 00:30 |
cwillu | hggdh, I'd say that leaving them seperate, but linking one to the other might be more useful. Just at first glance, it would appear that one is more of a global-xchat wishlist, wheras the other is asking for the ability to change things for a particular channel (#ubuntu-fr to french, while leaving everything else in english) | 00:30 |
cwillu | but I have no authority here :p | 00:30 |
hggdh | cwillu, indeed, I see that. Ah well, I will separate them. And would you not have auth here? ;-) | 00:31 |
bdmurray | hggdh: I think they are different enough to be separate bugs too | 00:34 |
hggdh | bdmurray, I already split them, based on cwillu's input, thanks. I will open an upstream bug as soon as possible (or link to one) | 00:38 |
BUGabundo | is bugzilla gnome always this slow? | 01:15 |
hggdh | BUGabundo, it can be slow... | 01:16 |

maxb | I need some advice on bug processes: bug 330596 concerns spurious ucf conffile prompting. The maintainer "fixed" it by making the package silently clobber user changes in the conffile! | 02:50 |
ubottu | Launchpad bug 330596 in checkbox "Configuration file `/etc/checkbox.d/checkbox.ini' changed (prompts for install/keep/diff even though I never changed checkbox.ini)" [High,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/330596 | 02:50 |
maxb | Reopen that bug, or file a new one? | 02:50 |
dtchen | i'd file a new one | 02:51 |
dtchen | that way there's existing bug history for that particular symptom | 02:51 |

cwillu | maxb, I don't know that any particular packager can do anything proper to fix that issue. That behaviour is by design (the spurious prompts) | 06:26 |
cwillu | maxb, i.e., updating an unchanged configuration is changing the configuration, which is cause for concern in many upgrade scenarios (servers especially) | 06:27 |

GSMX | what to do when the original poster doesn't have the problem anymore (with unknown reason), but someone in the comments does??? | 16:20 |
GSMX | fix released? confirmed? | 16:20 |
GSMX | should the one in the comments post a new bug? | 16:21 |
charlie-tca | GSMX: It is still a valid bug, right? | 16:21 |
charlie-tca | If the commenter reports a new bug, it would probably be a duplicate? | 16:22 |
GSMX | but the original poster says he doesn't have the problem anymore (probably through an update) | 16:22 |
charlie-tca | That did not make it invalid | 16:23 |
charlie-tca | You should be able to confirm it | 16:23 |
charlie-tca | You can't make it fix-released unless you know what fixed it. If others are having the same issues, it is not fixed if they are up to date. | 16:24 |
GSMX | thats true... ok thanks! | 16:24 |

yghannam7388 | hello everyone, some one has reported a bug saying that there is a CD/DVD creator program in the "System Tools" menu and that it should be in the "Sound & Video" menu. The CD/DVD creator program is the one built into Nautilus and it seems only useful for data disks, not music/video disks, and that is why it is under "System Tools". I told the bug reporter this and how to remove it if they wish. My question is can I mark this a | 19:57 |
hggdh | yghannam7388, is this the nautilus-cd-burner? | 21:17 |
yghannam7388 | hggdh: yes | 21:35 |
yghannam7388 | hggdh: when i click on the icon it opens nautilus and basically acts as a folder to place items | 21:37 |
=== mnemo is now known as mne|afk | ||
hggdh | yghannam7388, isn't nautilus-cd-burner the burner that has just been replaced by brasero as the default on Jaunty? | 21:48 |
yghannam7388 | hggdh: i believe so | 21:49 |
hggdh | what version of UBuntu is the reporter running | 21:49 |
hggdh | ? | 21:49 |

yghannam7388 | i confirmed it also on my computer | 21:50 |
hggdh | I think the bug should be kept open | 21:51 |
hggdh | there is a potential confusion on the naming and usage | 21:51 |
yghannam7388 | ok | 21:51 |
yghannam7388 | what should be done to resolve this? should we change the name on the icon or have it not install at all? | 21:52 |
