hggdhnhandler, thank you, will do. But I expected the deb-src to be as up-to-date as the binary packages... nevertheless... pull-lp-source, here I come ;-)00:06
nhandlerhggdh: Do you have jaunty deb-src lines in /etc/apt/sources.list?00:07
hggdhnhandler, yes. I actually only have Jaunty entries nowadays00:09
BUGabundocan some one mark bug 354844 as wishbug ?00:10
ubottuLaunchpad bug 354844 in gnome-app-install "gnome-app-install should offer tasksell " [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/35484400:10
hggdhBUGabundo, sorry, only now I saw your question00:14
BUGabundohggdh: np00:14
BUGabundo1min is not long00:14
hggdhheh... I was talking about the question you posed me about 1 HOUR ago00:15
BUGabundoahhh00:15
BUGabundoLOLOL00:15
BUGabundowhat was I?00:15
BUGabundo*it00:16
BUGabundoI don't remember00:16
hggdhwishlisted00:16
hggdhabout your patch00:17
BUGabundoahh lol00:17
BUGabundoI've request a merge00:17
hggdhand the answer is... I do not know. Not good in that area00:17
BUGabundolet asac process bug mail to catch up00:17
BUGabundoit was just my 1st00:17
BUGabundothen I made 3 more!00:17
cwillubryce_, silly question, do you check your email on weekends?00:17
BUGabundoit was so easy00:17
BUGabundocwillu: aahaha00:17
cwilluBUGabundo, finally got that kernel bisect finished, hopefully ext4 will stop crashing soon :)00:18
BUGabundoI still don't understand what X has to do with Ext400:19
asacBUGabundo: you patch was against mbpi ... you requested merge against NM ... wrong ;)00:19
BUGabundoyeah let me see00:20
BUGabundoI just followed LP recommendation00:20
asaci am off now. i rejected the merge because it was against wrong branch. do the same against mobile-broadband-provider-info00:20
BUGabundo~network-manager/network-manager/trunk (branch details)– development focus00:20
BUGabundobad LP00:21
asacfor mbpi?00:21
asacthats wrong then. always request merge against whatever branch you started on00:21
BUGabundoasac: I can't find it using search00:21
BUGabundomobile-broadband-provider-info00:21
asacBUGabundo: well. you started with some branch. use that one ;)00:21
BUGabundoreturns nothing00:21
asacBUGabundo: use https://code.launchpad.net/...00:22
asacand append whatever is after the lp:00:22
asaci gave you00:22
BUGabundoI used https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~network-manager/mobile-broadband-provider-info/mobile-broadband-provider-info.ubuntu00:22
asacyes. so that branch is where you should ask merge into00:22
BUGabundostrange00:22
BUGabundomaybe I got lost along the way00:22
asac;)00:23
asacthats ok00:23
BUGabundoLP is confusing for new users00:23
asacfirst merge request00:23
asacis confusing for sure00:23
asacyou can just ask for ~network-manager/mobile-broadband-provider-info/mobile-broadband-provider-info.ubuntu00:23
asacin the lp field00:23
asacthat should work00:23
asacmaybe search for "mobile-broadband-provider-info.ubuntu"00:23
BUGabundoInvalid value00:24
asacBUGabundo: do the same for the other 2 branches ;)00:24
asacyou will find it ;)00:24
BUGabundobah!00:24
asacthe LP search is really borked00:25
BUGabundoseems so00:26
asaci would think that the ~network-manager/... path from above should work00:26
BUGabundohttps://code.edge.launchpad.net/~bugabundo/network-manager/bug353957/+register-merge00:26
BUGabundodoesn't allow me to request what you asked00:26
asacBUGabundo: the problem is that you pushed your branch to ~network-manager/network-manager00:26
asacthats wrong00:26
BUGabundoahh00:26
asacit should have been: ~network-manager/mobile-broadband-provider-info/...00:26
BUGabundoit was what I was told on #LP00:27
BUGabundoI'll pull and push again00:27
asacBUGabundo: yeah. please remember to delete the other branches ;)00:27
asacotherwise they will always show up as network-manager branches00:27
asacBUGabundo: anyway. thumbs up. good work. i will look at the merges tomorrow for mbpi00:28
hggdhquestion re. bug 354542 and bug 129514: obviously, 129514 is a general case, and 354542 a specific (perhaps even basic one). I masked the former a dup of the latter. Is this wrong?00:28
ubottuLaunchpad bug 354542 in xchat "Cannot change language of spell checker (dup-of: 129514)" [Undecided,Incomplete] https://launchpad.net/bugs/35454200:28
ubottuLaunchpad bug 129514 in xchat "enable selecting spell check language by channel" [Wishlist,Triaged] https://launchpad.net/bugs/12951400:28
* asac now off00:28
BUGabundobzr: ERROR: Permission denied: "/~bugabundo/network-manager/mobile-broadband-provider-info/mobile-broadband-provider-info": : Cannot create branch at '/~bugabundo/network-manager/mobile-broadband-provider-info/mobile-broadband-provider-info'00:28
hggdhbdmurray, pls see my question above00:30
cwilluhggdh, I'd say that leaving them seperate, but linking one to the other might be more useful.  Just at first glance, it would appear that one is more of a global-xchat wishlist, wheras the other is asking for the ability to change things for a particular channel (#ubuntu-fr to french, while leaving everything else in english)00:30
cwillubut I have no authority here :p00:30
hggdhcwillu, indeed, I see that. Ah well, I will separate them. And would you not have auth here? ;-)00:31
bdmurrayhggdh: I think they are different enough to be separate bugs too00:34
hggdhbdmurray, I already split them, based on cwillu's input, thanks. I will open an upstream bug as soon as possible (or link to one)00:38
BUGabundois bugzilla gnome always this slow?01:15
hggdhBUGabundo, it can be slow...01:16
hggdh(but one gets used to it. I did)01:16
BUGabundobah LP is so fast01:18

maxbI need some advice on bug processes: bug 330596 concerns spurious ucf conffile prompting. The maintainer "fixed" it by making the package silently clobber user changes in the conffile!02:50
ubottuLaunchpad bug 330596 in checkbox "Configuration file `/etc/checkbox.d/checkbox.ini' changed (prompts for install/keep/diff even though I never changed checkbox.ini)" [High,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/33059602:50
maxbReopen that bug, or file a new one?02:50
dtcheni'd file a new one02:51
dtchenthat way there's existing bug history for that particular symptom02:51
=== ziroday` is now known as ziroday
cwillumaxb, I don't know that any particular packager can do anything proper to fix that issue.  That behaviour is by design (the spurious prompts)06:26
cwillumaxb, i.e., updating an unchanged configuration is changing the configuration, which is cause for concern in many upgrade scenarios (servers especially)06:27

JonChargeThe question is actually directe to the whole channel, whomever can answer?16:03
andolJonCharge: Basically yes. Just a sec and I'll give you a link.16:14

GSMXwhat to do when the original poster doesn't have the problem anymore (with unknown reason), but someone in the comments does???16:20
GSMXfix released? confirmed?16:20
GSMXshould the one in the comments post a new bug?16:21
charlie-tcaGSMX: It is still a valid bug, right?16:21
charlie-tcaIf the commenter reports a new bug, it would probably be a duplicate?16:22
GSMXbut the original poster says he doesn't have the problem anymore (probably through an update)16:22
charlie-tcaThat did not make it invalid16:23
charlie-tcaYou should be able to confirm it16:23
charlie-tcaYou can't make it fix-released unless you know what fixed it. If others are having the same issues, it is not fixed if they are up to date.16:24
GSMXthats true... ok thanks!16:24

yghannam7388hello everyone, some one has reported a bug saying that there is a CD/DVD creator program in the "System Tools" menu and that it should be in the "Sound & Video" menu. The CD/DVD creator program is the one built into Nautilus and it seems only useful for data disks, not music/video disks, and that is why it is under "System Tools". I told the bug reporter this and how to remove it if they wish. My question is can I mark this a19:57
hggdhyghannam7388, is this the nautilus-cd-burner?21:17
yghannam7388hggdh: yes21:35
yghannam7388hggdh: when i click on the icon it opens nautilus and basically acts as a folder to place items21:37
=== mnemo is now known as mne|afk
hggdhyghannam7388, isn't nautilus-cd-burner the burner that has just been replaced by brasero as the default on Jaunty?21:48
yghannam7388hggdh: i believe so21:49
hggdhwhat version of UBuntu is the reporter running21:49
hggdh?21:49
yghannam7388Jaunty 64bit alpha 621:50
yghannam7388it was reported about two weeks ago21:50
hggdhk21:50
yghannam7388i confirmed it also on my computer21:50
hggdhI think the bug should be kept open21:51
hggdhthere is a potential confusion on the naming and usage21:51
yghannam7388ok21:51
yghannam7388what should be done to resolve this? should we change the name on the icon or have it not install at all?21:52
