[01:05] is this the right channel to ask some questions about putting ubuntu on a mobile phone? [01:07] I want to install ubuntu mid on a phone & was just wondering what the best handset was to choose [02:19] So, what's an awesome Touch-screen/Keyboard phone that can run Ubuntu Mobile? [02:19] Is there a list somewhere of top rated ones? [02:32] nobody here has an awesome phone with Ubuntu Mobile on it? [02:32] huh, strange, I thought this would be the place... [08:14] hi [08:15] can we install ubuntu mobile on viliv s5 ? and can we use it correctly, wifi touchscreen and the rest :p [08:18] Celtiore, Looks like poulsbo graphics, so you've that set of issues. I'd recommend getting the 1024x600 model for resolution reasons. [08:18] I don't see any information on the touchscreen or WiFi, so can't tell you if those drivers work. [08:18] ok thanks you [08:19] Celtiore, For future note, www.umpcportal.com has a nice specifications database for most of the stuff that comes out. [08:20] i know, i check every week, but in france, it's very difficult to find infos about hardware and OS compatibility :( [08:21] I'm not sure why it's different in France than other places :) But that said, it's difficult generally to find out whether some device supports Ubuntu until it's shipping and someone else tries it. [08:22] This is even true when the device ships with linux (as you must know from your experiences with the Aigo) [08:26] yes [09:14] hi [09:14] has anybody tried jaunty lpia on a netbook? [09:15] i can't find any reviews [09:16] except a stupid phoronix benchmark, where they compare the power usage of unr and mid in a timeframe of 5 minutes.. with different window managers running [10:08] Is this the place to ask about the mobile kernels? [10:11] hi [10:11] persia: just finished the download and started it on my netbook, wlan and even webcam works out of the box [10:11] thats nice [12:41] DingTo, Great to hear. === rbelem is now known as rbelem-afk === rbelem-afk is now known as rbelem === rbelem is now known as rbelem-afk === rbelem-afk is now known as rbelem === rbelem is now known as rbelem-lunch [19:00] have been looking online at reviews of mid but can't find any hardware recommendations for phones, any ideas? === rbelem-lunch is now known as rbelem [21:18] hey [21:18] persia: are you here?
