[04:31] gentlemen, could anyone help with a probem on a netbook? [04:31] the keyboard doesn't respond at all [04:32] have you tried to test if it's a hardware problem at all? [04:32] it works perfectly in the bios [04:32] so it's not hardware [04:32] and worked in Windows [04:32] 20 minutes ago [04:32] had it worked before? [04:32] (before I blew away the HD) [04:32] yup [04:32] well, not on Ubuntu [04:32] just installed [04:32] the machine is MSI Wind [04:33] tried the netbook remix? [04:33] that's what I have [04:34] USB keyboard/mouse work; I think MSI Wind has PS2 kybd [04:34] did it work in the live session? [04:35] didn't try; just went ahead and installed [04:35] stupid of me, I think [04:35] how did you install without keyboard usage? [04:35] plugged in a USB external [04:36] odd... and you've tried restarting it? [04:36] yup [04:36] BIOS works as wll [04:36] odd indeed [04:38] Hrm... to be honest, i'm not sure what would cause ps/2 failure off a clean install [04:38] no idea [04:39] this happened under OSX too, that's why I went to UBUNTU [04:39] but that seemed to be a driver problem [04:40] tried checking drivers list? [04:40] hmmm no, where? [04:40] system>administration>hardware drivers [04:40] hold on [04:41] says "no proprietary drivers in use" [04:43] shucks... I've heard about problems of proprietary drivers conflicting [04:43] gonna try live cd [04:44] ok, kbd doens't work booting off USB either [04:45] sorry, dude, I can't think of anything that should cause that... definitely send in a bug ticket [04:45] this is the weirdest... I've struggled with EVERY part of a machine while installing Linux, never with Keyboard! [04:46] hmm... maybe I'll go back to OS X... I just want a functional M$-free netbook
