slaine_Hey Guys08:40
slaine_Upgraded my 8.10 (with 8.04 kernel) EPIA to 9.04 last night08:40
slaine_all went pretty smooth, congrats08:40
TechnophilHi, I have a Sony CRT HD TV which does 1080i.  The Screen underscans, that is the menu is off the screen etc.  Using an NVIDIA 8500GT.  Is there a way to get the whole screen onto the TV?  Would modelines be what I need here?10:12
TechnophilWhen setting the 1080i option it seems nothing in xorg.conf will change the screen10:13
Technophilxvidtune also has no effect.10:13
TechnophilShould Sony be asked to add a switch to "normoscan" the TV as I understand some recent digital TV's may be able to do.10:19
TechnophilMaybe the answer is to run a LCD as the desktop and run images just on the TV, if only I could get the combination to work!11:03
TechnophilMan it helps when the VGA cable is plugged in....!11:30
slaine_lol11:34
TechnophilYeh I hate that....11:40
slaine_I was doing something equally silly earlier with an RTSP server11:50
slaine_wondered why it wouldn't stream11:50
slaine_Was pointing to the wrong server IP, gah11:50
slaine_Anyone know if XvMC-vld shoule be working ok with the 9.04 installs on EPIA systems ?11:51
slaine_I can get xine -V xxmc playing at 30% CPU, but mythfrontend is playing back around 75%-80%11:52
Essobimorning..14:03
spoky99hi all16:09
spoky99someone can help me?16:09
spoky99I had a hauppauge hvr 110016:10
spoky99it work fine with xine, I see the dvb-t channel one time then I selected a channel and... every time that I start the tv I have one error message and the frontend return to the menu16:13
EssobiUmm.. how do a specify a different server IP for mythfrontend/mythtv?  I assumed all I had to do was config the mysql server, which I did and that appears to work.. but I get an error connecting to the myth protocol port on 127.0.0.1 which obviously isn't the right IP.17:56
superm1Essobi, run mythtv-setup, and you set the master backend ip there17:58
Essobiroger that18:00
Essobisuperm1: Really? that's wierd.. I assumed all the configs would be in the frontend packages..18:01
Essobisuperm1: ubuntu is telling me that mythtv-setup is in the backend package18:01
superm1Essobi, on your backend pc you have to do this18:01
Essobisuperm1: Aaaaah, that makes more sense now. :)18:04
Essobianyone seen a pen based live frontend boot disk?18:07
Essobis/disk/install18:07
superm1you can just install onto a usb key using ubiquity18:09
EssobiYea?  nice..18:20
EssobiI can't find any docs on libmyth-perl...18:21
spoky99hi superm18:27
superm1hi spoky9918:27
superm1how's it going18:27
spoky99O_o18:28
spoky99superm1: I open a bug.. but I'm going to modifi it :)18:28
superm1spoky99, what's the bug?  my bug mail is overflowing :P18:29
spoky99superm1: here we ave a bad dvb-t signal, two trasmitter in opposit place in the same frequenze, one digital and the other analogic, the signal digital often is null18:29
heyheyheyis mythbuntu gona ever update to .2218:29
superm1heyheyhey, .22 has to be released first :P18:30
heyheyheyi see18:30
spoky99superm1: I select a broken channel and... every time the tv start go into this channel18:30
heyheyheywell i using the trunk right now it is wicked18:30
superm1spoky99, there is a setting in the mythtv-setup app for which channel to start on18:30
superm1heyheyhey, yeah it will be nice once we can switch18:31
heyheyheyyeah18:31
heyheyheythey are doing a nice job on .2218:31
heyheyheylove that channel grouping feature18:32
spoky99superm1: I know, but it work only the first time, the other time remember the last channel selected (I dont' know how deselect this freature)18:32
superm1heyheyhey, but at least for now there's weekly ubuntu builds, so you dont need to go from source and what not18:32
superm1spoky99, i'd go in the channel editor and just remove the channel then so you dont hit this in the future18:32
spoky99superm1: is not easy... the channel work sometime and sometime don't work18:33
superm1spoky99, can you maybe add an amplifier to your line?18:33
spoky99superm1: and the strange ting is that some channel tath I see with xine on the same card and computer... in mythtv tv are locked :)18:33
superm1spoky99, that's too bad.  you can consider switching to 0.22 to see if it handles the situations more gracefully18:34
superm1!weekly | spoky9918:34
Zinnspoky99: Weekly builds are available for MythTV 0.21 (Stable) and MythTV Trunk 0.22 (Unstable, use at your own RISK) for Hardy and Intrepid.  See http://www.mythbuntu.org/auto-builds for more info.18:34
spoky99superm1: the mythtv-setup option channel.conf a manual setting... don't work :)18:35
spoky99superm1: I try the weekli :)18:35
spoky99ops18:35
spoky99superm1: weekly :D18:35
spoky99superm1: using dvb-utils i create a good channel.conf but mythtv don't see one channel using it, also putting the right channel and option manualli don't see anu channel :(18:37
spoky99superm1: also this bug is solved with the 0.22?18:37
superm1spoky99, it's possible.  i don't follow 0.22 development closely enough to confidently say yes or no though18:38
spoky99I could learn how to save all the setting of mythtv :)18:39
spoky99superm1: you ar't a computer?18:39
spoky99:P18:39
Essobianyone gotten snd_bt87x to work?18:48
spoky99superm1: & Zinn: i don't found the "Mythbuntu Repos" program, or I'm not undersanding the text into the link page?18:53
superm1spoky99, at the bottom of that page there is a link18:53
superm1click it and you will get a deb to install and enable weekly builds18:53
spoky99opsss... :) excuse me :)18:54
spoky99hi all!19:01
stepz_do people have any success running the mythtv weekly builds?19:42
stepz_mythfrontend segfaults consistently for me19:42
stepz_across several weeks, I wonder if it's to be expected or is it worth debugging19:43
stepz_here's the last page of output from running it with gdb: http://pastebin.com/m5f382f8719:46
superm1stepz_, is that trunk?19:56
superm1er is looks like -fixes19:57
superm1is that an AMD graphics card?19:57
superm1if so, look at the release notes20:00
stepz_that's trunk and on an nvidia card20:04
stepz_integrated chip, GeForce 7050 PV if that is of any consequence20:06
superm1stepz_, so if that's trunk, you need to reset the theme to GANT21:34
superm1unfortunately Mythbuntu's theme isn't ready for trunk yet21:34
stepz_switching to G.A.N.T didn't change anything except the background that flashes before the segfault21:39
superm1can you show the new log?21:43
stepz_http://pastebin.com/dc40b3fc21:52
superm1wow that's totally unuseful21:54
stepz_the stack trace is also the same21:55
stepz_and I can't figure out if there are any dbg packages to install to make it more useful21:55
superm1for the weekly builds we don't have them i dont think21:56
superm1they would be .ddebs21:56
superm1so maybe for weekly builds we should reinstitute -dbg packages for these types of situations21:56
stepz_is it relevant that I have installed the packages on top of kubuntu 9.04?21:58
stepz_ok, found out what the issue was22:04
stepz_somehow I had mythstream installed22:04
