NavY-SeaLu used the disk test and the test was fine01:22

ebil_andyso, I did an update for mythbuntu, and now my video card is f'd up.  it's a Geforce FX 5something, and it was using either the nv or nvidia drivers before (I think nv) and now, it won't load either of those and only loads the vesa drivers04:56
ebil_andyi've tried running the mythbuntu control center, but that's just making things worse it appears04:57
ebil_andymy card is a GeForce FX 570004:58
Technophil1Hi  I Just got VDPAU running it looks fantastical crisp, except it errors and crashes after a few seconds....  Log sent to (man this thing is so kewl!) http://mythbuntu.pastebin.com/fea4095309:51
basement-serverHello.  I started my system with Ubuntu, then upgraded to mythbuntu with the website download.   Installed all the software, worked thru some problems w/ my Database, ect...   but my problem is now that I can't seem to "see" any input on "Watch Live TV" when I run the frontend on the same computer that is master backend.  If I open XawTV I can see the live tv channel, but I need to change the "Capture" from "overlay" to "14:57
[ToT]ALiPdoes someone know why the output of the TV Function to my LCD-TV is damaged ? TVTime work Perfect, video over the Frontend works well.17:54
[ToT]ALiPScrenn : http://img40.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc00534s.jpg17:54
[ToT]ALiPis the resolution of the mythTV Player Hardcoded ? Or does it need a minimum of a resolution like 800x600 ?19:11
basement-serverThe Myth backend should start everytime I reboot, correct? or do I need to add that manually?20:00
tgm4883basement-server, yes is should20:01
basement-serverCause I'm still having the same problem.  I reverted to the older intel video drivers.  But I still only get a black screen when i run the frontend :(20:01
tgm4883did you check the logs?20:02
basement-serverchecking ;) lol... i forget about the logs... lol20:03

basement-serveryes, reading thru those now :) i'll post them if anyone has time to look ;)20:06
tgm4883post them, i'll look20:06

basement-serververy nice setup!20:06
basement-servermythtv: could not connect to socket20:06
basement-servermythtv: No such file or directory20:06
basement-serverthat may be problem.. humm20:07
tgm4883#20:07
tgm48832009-05-23 14:57:12.993 Channel(/dev/video0) Error: GetCurrentChannelNum(): Failed to find Channel20:07
tgm4883#20:07
tgm48832009-05-23 14:57:13.062 Channel(/dev/video0)::TuneTo(): Error, failed to find channel.20:07
tgm4883looks like it can't find the channel20:08
basement-servercheckning20:08
tgm4883did you go though all the steps in mythtv-setup?20:08
basement-serveri had thought so.. what i did is use xawtv and found that channel 19 came thru ok so I set that in the mythtv-setup...20:09
basement-serveri will check that again20:10
basement-serveri think i've gone thru the setup a few times.. possible that i'm missing something20:10
tgm4883what tuner?20:11
basement-serverit's option 36 from what i remember..20:14
basement-serverLifeview20:14
basement-serverIt's the lifeview w/ FM tuner and Video Capture.. and has TV tuner20:14
basement-servercard=36 - Lifeview FlyVideo 98FM LR50 / Typhoon TView TV/FM Tuner20:17
tgm4883what type of card did you set it up as?20:21
tgm4883and how do you get your signal?20:21
basement-serverright now I am just trying to use airware.. or even static... as long as I see somethign I will be happy :)20:21
basement-serverin the Capture Card Setup, i have card type as : Analog V4L capture card20:21
basement-serverI think it found that on it's own... arrg.. can't remember that part20:22
tgm4883sec20:22
tgm4883software encoder, so that seems right20:24
tgm4883did you try scanning inside of myth rather than use xawtv20:24
basement-serveri think so.. and still got blank screen... or it wanted my username/pass to the XMLTV grabber thing..20:25
basement-serverwhich i don't have20:25
basement-serverin xawtv i have to change capture from overlay to grabdisplay and i see no option like that in mythtv20:25
basement-serverok.. on the scan i get no signal :(20:32
tgm4883hmm20:32
basement-serverso... i may just need to go ahead and hook this to my cable signal...20:32
tgm4883err, well yea, if it can't find channels because you didn't hook it up thats not going to help us ;)20:32
basement-servercause i'm trying just broadcast right now.. and i KNOW that channel 19 comes in.. very weak and static.. maybe mythtv says it's not strong enough to be a signal20:32
tgm4883yea that could be20:33
basement-serverlol.. i thought it might be able to see it.. but i will find away to get my cable signal over here..20:33
tgm4883basement-server, just FYI, if that is indeed a software encoder card, you may want to look at getting a hardware encoder card in the near future20:34
tgm4883actually, where do you live?20:34
basement-serverusa20:38
basement-serverwell.... i dunno what kinda card it is.. i think it is hardware20:39
tgm4883ok, if you are using cable, then a regular hardware encoder should work fine, if you are using antenna, you will want/need a digital card20:39
tgm4883didn't look like a hardware encoder card during my brief search on it20:40
tgm4883and if it is one, then you set it up wrong in mythtv-setup20:40
basement-serverIt is a Philips 3139  147  13411L20:40
basement-serverlol if that helps any20:40
basement-serverI think i had gone through finding the card and correct options with another mythtv-user guy..20:44
TeabagHello21:14
Teabag!help21:15
Zinn!help For a  complete list of my knowledge visit: http://www.baablogic.net/Zinn.cgi  Other available commands: !status, !about, !bug [bug_number].21:15
TeabagAnybody there?21:18
tgm4883!ask | Teabag21:19
ZinnTeabag: Please don't ask if anyone is around or if it is alright to ask a question.  Many people check back periodically and may answer your question when they see it.  IRC is not normally an instant fix so check back often for an answer.21:19
TeabagOk sorry im unfamiliar with all this. When i connect a sata hard drive in mythbuntu,i cant access it.I could access it in ubuntu but not mythbuntu for some strange reason mythbuntu cant.21:19
tgm4883did you mount it?21:28
TeabagHow do i mount it?21:33
tgm4883Teabag, assuming it's formated, "sudo mount /dev/sdXX /path/to/mount/point"21:40
TeabagNo,it is not formatted. It is a windows drive i want to get some files off of before i format it.22:21
[ToT]ALiPWhat to do if my Xv is destroyed or not used ?22:25
tgm4883Teabag, is it NTFS?22:55
TeabagYes22:56
tgm4883Teabag, ok then you probably just need something like "sudo mount /dev/hda1 /media/windows/ -t ntfs"23:04
tgm4883where /dev/hda1 is your ntfs drive23:04
tgm4883but it will probably be /dev/sdXX23:04
tgm4883depending on how many drives you have, and how many partitions are on your ntfs drive23:05
TeabagOk i will try them both23:05
Teabagam i meant to replace the two x's with something?23:06
Teabagive tried sudo mount /dev/hda1 /media/windows/ -t ntfs  and  sudo mount /dev/sdXX /media/windows/ -t ntfs23:12
hadsYes, you need to find the actual partition you want to mount. XX is not valid.23:16
hads`sudo fdisk -l` will print a list of partitions.23:16
Teabagok thanks for that.it says i have sda1,2,5,6.All of them say linux except for two, one which is extended, and to my knowledge extended is linux, and system.23:19
TeabagIve tried all of them and it says they are all invalid ntfs23:22
tgm4883Teabag, is there a sdb?23:41
TeabagdI got it sorted lads. Thanks very much.23:54
