jussi01JontheEchidna: so any idea when you can make that hit the experimental ppa?00:02
JontheEchidnajussi01: in about 5 minutes, not counting building time00:03
jussi01JontheEchidna: you rock my world! thanks!00:03
JontheEchidnajussi01: uploaded at almost exactly 5 mins ;-)00:07
jussi01JontheEchidna: link me to the build queue?00:08

=== vishalrao_away is now known as vishalrao
vishalraokde 4.3 you can easily set the kickoff menu icon, that reminds me, why doesn't kubuntu use a branding icon? like the circle of friends as its menu icon?00:57
vorianJontheEchidna: HAHAHAHA!!!04:55
voriandude, I just say my picture in the wallpaper selections04:55
voriananyone else getting "There are exceptions caught in the script 'Librivox.org'. Please refer to the log." in amarok?05:11
=== iivv__ is now known as iivv_
Mamarokvishalrao: that would look odd09:16
vishalraoMamarok: looks good to me though :D not a big deal since it will be easy to do in 4.309:17
Mamarokvishalrao: I hope not, it wouldn't fit into the KDE experience, needs svg09:18
vishalraoi just took the kubuntu bling logo and cut the circle part in inkscape and voila09:18
vishalraothat logo is sv09:18
vishalraog09:18
Mamarokvishalrao: maybe in a seperate theme, but not in Oxygen, god beware!09:19
vishalraoSee the "bling" logo here -> https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KubuntuArtwork09:19
vishalraolooks good to me with air theme09:19
vishalraoplus its a branding/marketing thing... spread the kubuntu love!09:20

yao_ziyuan.09:50
Mamarokyao_ziyuan: that is not funny, guess why there are diffrent channels09:51
yao_ziyuana truth channel and a joke channel09:51
Mamarokyao_ziyuan: behave!09:51
yao_ziyuan.09:51
Mamarokand contribute instead of bashing09:51
Mamarokvishalrao: then it belongs definitely in a different them, Oxygen branding is a no go IMHO09:53
Mamarokvishalrao: ask Nuno what he thinks of that09:54
vishalraoMamarok: does nuno visit IRC? which channel? btw i wasnt saying change the oxygen theme itself, i was saying kubuntu specific mod for the menu itself... but it isnt a big deal... easy to change for me :)09:55
Mamarokvishalrao: there is oxygen, and plasma, and other kde channels09:55
vishalraook thanks09:56
Mamarokvishalrao: making a Kubuntu theme is ok for me, but certainly not changeing Oxygen09:56

Mamarokryanakca: yep, both my buddies from Switzerland :)14:23
Mamarokryanakca: don't know if they have arrived yet, though, their flight was at 13 from Zürich I think14:24
ryanakcaAh, so they should be arriving eventually, 15:26 here14:28
Mamarokyeah! Gwenview doesn't crash anymore!14:28
jussi01Mamarok: thank JontheEchidna for that... I asked him to do it last night, which he kindly did14:55
jussi01:D14:55
MamarokJontheEchidna: thanks a lot!14:56
Mamarokthe only thing missing for me is kdebase-dev now...14:57
=== yuriy_ is now known as yuriy

JontheEchidnaMamarok: what did you need kdebase-dev for? There weren't any development headers in there, just a few private symlink .so's16:13
Mamarokhm, I can't compile anymore, and it asks for kdebase-dev16:13
JontheEchidnahmm, what are you trying to compile?16:14
MamarokJontheEchidna: I try to get back the stuff that was in the kde-devel metapackage16:15
Mamarokas this has disappeared16:15
MamarokJontheEchidna: local installation of Amarok16:15
JontheEchidnaoh, so maybe the metapackage is outdated now and won't install because kdebase-dev is missing16:16
MamarokQt version is ok, all libraries and dependencies are there as I didn't touch the folders, but can't compile anymore16:16
Mamarokyeah, that metapackage has gone unfortunately16:17

Riddelldon't think I've seen them16:45
Mamarokwell, they left at like 13:00 from Zürich, maybe still on the road16:46
Riddellor maybe they're just not where I happened to wander through, this place is huge16:47
Mamarokyou will certainly see them these days :)16:48
ScottKI've seen stgraber.  He's here.16:53
Mamarokyeah, just seen him online :)16:55
jarlelatest experimental amarok crashes with SIGSEGV when kde is setup to use the phonon-xine-backend, works fine with the gstream-backend (however then I get no sound), not sure if this is an amarok bug or a kubuntu package bug?17:01
JontheEchidnaI don't suppose anybody would be around to sponsor bug 379997?17:02

Riddellryanakca, rgreening, ScottK: anyone hungry?17:31
Riddellyuriy: ?17:31
ScottKRiddell: I little.  we had a late lunch.17:32
ScottKI think rgreening went out for a smoke.17:32
schmidtmRiddell: afaik contact and calendar syncing works17:35
Tm_Tschmidtm: "works" is not enough I afraid17:35
Riddellwell it could be enough17:36
Riddellbut generally there's a reason why there's no release17:36
Tm_Taye17:36
schmidtmat http://blip.tv/file/1972974/ is a sample video using the resource17:36
Tm_Tschmidtm: I'm randomly testing that but I'm not convinced yet17:38
ryanakcaRiddell: Just ate, sorry17:41
schmidtmTm_T: ok, but anyway when it turns stable it would be nice to see such a feature for karmic17:41
Tm_Tschmidtm: sure17:41
Tm_Tschmidtm: we need to fill build dependencies too though17:41
schmidtmTm_T: thats obvious, the basic dependency is libgcal V 0.917:42
Tm_Tschmidtm: aye, which is not in Ubuntu repositories yet IIRC17:43
ScottKRiddell: Now I'm hungry.17:43
ryanakcaRiddell: I can tag along though17:44
Tm_Tschmidtm: ah, forgot, this is one of those projects which doesn't have public svn apparently17:44
RiddellScottK: know anywhere to eat?17:44
Riddellor alternatively supermarkets to get food and nice places to eat it17:45
schmidtmTm_T: i ve just looked my karmic says it has libgcal 0.9.0-1 in the repos17:45
ryanakcaRiddell: There's a few restaurant 5-10 minutes away17:45
Tm_Tschmidtm: hmm, really? mind to find out which packages depends on it currently?17:46
ScottKRiddell: Yes.17:46
RiddellScottK: groovy, I'll come down in 5 mins17:46
ScottKRiddell: I need to go stow my laptop.17:46
ScottKSee you then.17:47
MamarokRiddell: far too early for supper in Barcelona now, the Spanish only just had lunch  :)17:49
Mamarokclocks go differently there17:49
RiddellI know, we walked into a restaurant at about 8 last night and they said they wouldn't be ready for another hour or more17:49

neversfeldeI thought that this akonadi google ressource is part of KDE 4.3, because it is mentioned in the release announcement for beta118:04
Tm_Tneversfelde: part of extragear until it's tested enough I believe18:05
schmidtmTm_T: yes that s strange. so could u try building a package?18:05

apacheloggerbug 374248 is fun18:40
ubottuLaunchpad bug 374248 in kdeedu "Cannot change language in khangman if kdelibs-data is not installed" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/37424818:40
Mamarokwhich makes hangman useless!18:41
apacheloggerdepends on whether it will still work if $system language is $desired language18:41
apacheloggerok18:42
apacheloggerclearly that is SRUworthy18:42
apacheloggerapparently our KDE 4 stuff doesn't carry all_languages, which lists all KDE supported languages or something18:43
apacheloggerbut the KDE 3 stuff does18:43

apacheloggerthough I am most of the time ashamed of myself for other reasons anyway :P18:48
Mamarokapachelogger: you shouldn't18:48
Mamaroknever a reason to be ashamed, just stand to the errors, much easier, less hassle for your soul18:49
neversfeldethis is really up to date: https://code.launchpad.net/~kubuntu-members/choqok/ubuntu18:49
apacheloggerthat is something to be ashamed of18:49
neversfeldehow can I update this?18:49
apacheloggerI know precisely what that file does18:49
apacheloggerI know precisely that both kdeedu and kdegames heavily use it18:49
apacheloggerand still I didn't notice that it should be installed18:50
apacheloggerneversfelde: branch it, sync it with latest packaging, use debcommit and then push it back to launchpad18:50
apacheloggeralso check that control carries the appropriate VCS lines so I can blame people when a branch is out-of-date :P18:51
Mamarokapachelogger: but we will tell the users who is reposonsible for that... :P18:51
Mamarokand everybody else also, of course18:52
apacheloggerhm18:53
apacheloggerhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm18:54
apacheloggeractually18:54
apacheloggerit makes sense after all18:54
apacheloggerKDE 3 apps and KDE 4 apps need to be co-installable18:54
apacheloggerhaving the file in both kdelibs-data and kdelibs5-data would prevent this18:54
apacheloggernot too trivial to fix18:55

apacheloggerthe mentioned python* stuff is installed but still it fails to load19:25
apacheloggermaybe they ain't working with python2.6? :P19:26
freglapachelogger: when building from source you need python bindings, kross comes with kdelibs afaik19:27
apacheloggerfregl: why would it need the python bindings?19:29
apacheloggerjust kross itself should be enough, shouldn't it?19:29
apacheloggercmake ain't complaining about anything19:30
apacheloggerfregl, Nightrose: I really think it's python2.6's fault19:46
apacheloggeronly systems using it seem to be affected19:47
apacheloggeror maybe it's just ubuntu :D19:48
