Tonio_Riddell: when you read this, can you please reject kopete-facebook ? it misses a missing build-dep... I'm fixing and reuploading00:01

apacheloggerRiddell: as I see it they are both not regressions from jaunty, so they shouldn't stop the moving the -updates13:19
apacheloggerthe bugs shoudl be reopened and reinvestigated though13:20
apacheloggerthey are just not fixed yet :) so another option would be to just delay the move to -updates and get those 2 issues resolved first13:20

RiddellScottK: does ubuntu netbook remix do ARM?14:10
ScottKRiddell: No, they just did it on lpia (now i386), but AFAIK there is no official product for armel yet.14:11
RiddellScottK: so why do you include ARM in the spec?  what's the use case?14:11
ScottKI've seen KDE running on small arm devices like N810 and freerunner.14:11
ScottKI need to investigate specific platforms (those use older arm devices, so wouldn't be a target for us), but I believe it's reasonably doable.14:12
Riddellthat's the trouble with ARM, each device is different from the other, hard to make a generally installable medium14:13
freeflyingScottK: most of the armel device only have opengles support14:13
ScottKRiddell: I want to see Kubuntu everywhere, so I put it in because it's a place we might be able to get.14:13
freeflyingScottK: but UNR needs opengl14:13
ScottKI guess the question (I don't know the answer) is does the Plamsa MID shell need opengl?14:13
freeflyingseems like so :)14:14
ScottKSeems it does.14:15
ScottKRiddell: OK, based on opengl, I think armel should come out.  Just i38614:15

Riddellsuper15:40
macois the panel supposed to resize to "however big is needed" within the constraints of min & max sizes?  karmic's seems to just stick to the min size, period, end of story, even if it means cutting some plasmoids in half15:41
Tonio_Riddell: talking about the icons preview or the preview pane ?15:42
Riddellmaco: I don't follow, the panel should be 100% width unless set otherwise15:42
RiddellTonio_: icon previews (preview pane is on and should remain so)15:42
macoi'm talking about the "set otherwise"15:42
macoyou know how you can set a min & max width?15:42
macothat makes it *seem* like it should resize automatically to try to fit all the plasmoids at their natural sizes, but cannot be smaller than some amount nor larger than other set amount15:43
macohowever, when i set a minimum size that is smaller than absolutely necessary to display all plasmoids, it'll just cut my pager in half instead of growing to "bigger than minimum, but smaller than maximum"15:44
Tonio_Riddell: hum I wonder where this is stored, no change in .kde/share/config when I change the view settings...15:45
kwwiirgreening: hey15:45

Riddellthe applets are all on top of each other15:46
Riddellremind me never to play with plasma settings again15:46
macoeven without resizing the panel, my kicker was sitting on top of the tray15:46
macofiguring out how to grab it to move it was an exercise in frustration15:47
macoand why did the upgrade rearrange everything into a heap and throw my panel to the bottom of the screen? i thought settings like that were supposed to persist15:47
macoby the way, regarindt he pager and its behaviour when you click the current workspace, i *think* it is determined by the value (0,1,2) of...well, find plugin=pager and note its container and applet #s then find the configuration section for the same container & applet #s, then its currentDesktopSelected=215:48
macos/regarindt/regarding/15:49
Tonio_Riddell: the easiest way to get this set on by default is patching ./src/settings/dolphin_directoryviewpropertysettings.kcfg15:50
Tonio_Riddell: nevermind if I do that ?15:50
* ryanakca headdesks because of maintainers and bloody inline patches :/15:50

Riddellmaco: well I guess test with beta 2 next week and moan to plasma people if it's still broken15:52
RiddellTonio_: no way to just have a setting in k-d-s?15:52
ryanakcamaco: Outch, use quilt, very easy to use... add an include to debian/rules and add it as a build-dep, then just go "quilt push -a; quilt new patch_name.diff, quilt edit filename; quilt refresh; quilt pop -a" :)15:52
Tonio_Riddell: with share/apps entries, that's pretty crap, really15:52
Tonio_Riddell: and pretty random too :)15:53
macoryanakca, -_- i just break things when i try quilt15:53
Tonio_Riddell: well it'll just be a one line patch, not hard to maintain as this shouldn't change in the future on upstream side15:53
macothough..hrm15:53
macoquestion!15:53
macois it valid to start the patch management stuff then at the part where you'd normally edit files, just run the "patch" command on it and then tell it you're done "editing"?15:54
yuriywow the now playing widget is really clever, it only shows pause and next in the panel15:54

yuriykwwii: I can start working on a list of OO.o icons I haven't found in Oxygen.  What can I do with such a list?15:55
Tonio_Lure: which are ?15:55

macoTonio_, i think he was typing ;)15:55

apacheloggersomeone do something about that topic16:13
Tonio_Lure: yup16:13
LureTonio_: so we should rename inigo package to melt and do Conflicts/Replaces16:14
LureTonio_: btw, there is one in Debian already: http://packages.debian.org/unstable/melt16:15
LureTonio_: so we should rather merge16:15
Tonio_Lure: done here16:15
Tonio_hum when did they do that ?16:15
Tonio_wasn't there yesterday16:15
LureTonio_: not sure, that I got on google now ;-)16:16
Tonio_Lure: okay they did exactly the same thing as me... what a waste of time16:16
LureTonio_: that is why working on debian alioth svn is probably the way to go16:17
Tonio_since I wanted to sync with them...16:17
Tonio_Lure: true, in a certain way16:17
* Lure tries to merge digikam/kipi-plugins ubuntu changes back to debian that way16:18
Tonio_Lure: I uploaded debian's package for sync16:18
* Lure has to run16:20
neversfeldeTonio_: k3b 1.66 offers to install libk3b3-extracodecs and not libk3b6-extracodecs, is this correct?16:30
Tonio_neversfelde: of course not :)16:31
neversfelde:)16:32
Tonio_neversfelde: at least the patch works, which is pretty cool :)16:32
neversfeldehehe, yes it works fine16:34
Tonio_neversfelde: I really like this mecanism16:36
neversfelde+1 it is very userfriendly16:36
Tonio_rekonq is on review, can someone look at it please ?16:37
Tonio_as well as frescobaldi, for which nobody cares for months...16:37
Tonio_that would be very nice :)16:37

macoapachelogger, hrmm what about wpa2?16:50
JontheEchidnaTonio_: rekonq's packaging looks good, but the long description looks iffy imo16:50
Tonio_JontheEchidna: I wasn't greatly inspired to be honnest.... I just did a copy/paste from upstream's website16:51
Tonio_JontheEchidna: feel free to write any better one :)16:51
JontheEchidnaok16:51
Tonio_JontheEchidna: if you propose me any better one, I'll fix and upload16:52
apacheloggermaco: didn't work in stock jaunty network-manager plasmoid16:56
apacheloggerit certainly does with what is in proposed16:56
JontheEchidnaTonio_: How's this? http://paste.ubuntu.com/186635/16:57
macoand here i go, upgrading to karmic where even *normal* WPA doesn't work with the nm plasmoid! pffft my timing sucks!16:57
apacheloggermaco: well, karmic might still have the same svn snapshot jaunty has16:57
apacheloggerthe new one is only in proposed AFAIK16:57
maconah, jaunty worked for normal WPA, just not WPA216:58
Tonio_JontheEchidna: not bad :)16:59
Tonio_JontheEchidna: can I upload fixing the desc then ?16:59
JontheEchidnaTonio_: oh, it might be good if I testbuild first16:59
apacheloggermaco: maybe we have a regression at hand?16:59
JontheEchidnaTonio_: but probably it would be ok to upload16:59
Tonio_JontheEchidna: ho sure ! ;)17:00
macoapachelogger, yar17:00
Tonio_JontheEchidna: I'll wait for your permission17:00
apacheloggermaco: does your AP only support WPA?17:00
* apachelogger would find it weird to use WPA when WPA2 is available :P17:00
macoi'm not sure my roommate's laptop supports WPA217:00
apacheloggershould check17:01
macoits running windows...i dont know how17:01
apacheloggerhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wi-Fi_Protected_Access#WPA217:01
apacheloggermaco: just change the AP to WPA2 and see if the laptop still connects :)17:01
macoheh17:01
macowell i'm moving out over the course of this week anyway. person i'm living with now does, i think, have all wpa2-able hardware. we just have no internets in the new place yet :P17:02
apacheloggeroh dear17:02
apacheloggerno intartubes access is horrible17:02
ryanakcaAnybody know of an easy to use repo managing app? I used to use Seveas' falcon, but it doesn't seem to work on hardy anymore and requires python2.4 :/17:03
JontheEchidnaTonio_: oh, there isn't an XSBC-Original-Maintainer17:03
Tonio_JontheEchidna: hum true17:03
* apachelogger remembered that awkward time last summer when they "accidently" cut the street's landline17:03
apacheloggeroh dear17:03
apacheloggerJontheEchidna: not necessary :P17:03
Tonio_JontheEchidna: fixed17:03
apacheloggerryanakca: the are loads of them17:03
apacheloggersearch help.ubuntu.com17:04
ryanakcaTonio_: Packaging rekonq?17:04
apacheloggerapt-ftparchive being the simplest of those17:04
apacheloggerit really just dumps the binary files in $folder17:04
nixternaloi oi17:04
apacheloggerso if you want to have a pocket based system you might want to look into something different :D17:05
Tonio_ryanakca: yup17:05
ryanakcaTonio_: feel like getting it into Debian?17:05
Tonio_ryanakca: why not, but I'll not be the one doing this :)17:06
JontheEchidnaIf only arora had session management/tab restoration after crashes...17:06
ryanakcaapachelogger: I don't really care, I just want a way to get libqinfinity in a repo so that I can use it while compiling kobby for sid...17:06
Tonio_ryanakca: I decided to stop this 3 years ago since I got tired of getting ignored whenever I used my @ubuntu.com address17:06
Tonio_and answered when using the @gmail.com one17:06
* JontheEchidna finds it a pain to open up all his tabs in the proper order every time he opens arora17:06
Tonio_ryanakca: anyway, they can merge my package if they want it17:06
Tonio_ryanakca: that's arch, I know :)17:07
Tonio_ryanakca: but anyone wanting my package is free to sync17:07
JontheEchidnaTonio_: ship it!17:07
JontheEchidnalooks just fine here :)17:07
Tonio_JontheEchidna: kk I fixed the 2 issues you mentionned17:08
Tonio_JontheEchidna: uploaded thanks :)17:08
JontheEchidnayou're welcome17:08
* JontheEchidna tries rekonq17:08
Tonio_now if someone could *please* revu frescobaldi.... it's been waiting in revu for month...17:08
Tonio_and I don't want to override the revu proces...17:09
apacheloggertag it with kde or qt :P17:09
RiddellTonio_: rekonq contains GPL 3 in COPYING but is GPL 2 in source17:09
apacheloggerSynopsis: LilyPond sheet music editor for KDE417:10
JontheEchidnadoh, missed that17:10
apacheloggeraint no goody17:10
RiddellTonio_: that can be accepted into the archive fine (GPL 2 can be upgraded) but it's a bit weird17:10
apacheloggerwhy would I care that it is KDE 4?17:10
ryanakcaTonio_: Hehe, I've been waiting for months to get it into Debian, builds fine under karmic, but it doesn't under sid... because lilypond has been broken for ages17:10
Tonio_Riddell: yes, you're right, I'll ping upstream about that17:10
apacheloggerI mean besides the fact that we used KDE 4 all across instead of KDE417:10
Tonio_ryanakca: still last week, I sent 3 debdiffs using my ubuntu account, got ignored17:10
Tonio_ryanakca: and everytime I use another address, it's okay17:11
apacheloggerwhy would I, as user, care about it being for KDE 4, considering I don't have a KDE 3 desktop available from non-3rd-party-sources and I probably won't care either if I was using gnome or xfce17:11
Tonio_ryanakca: I'm sick of waisting my time with debian on that point...17:11
Riddellkb9vqf has loads of stuff on revu!17:11
Tonio_ryanakca: when I send a fix or anything, 50% go in 50% is waste of time...17:11
Tonio_ryanakca: I may be very unlucky, but I don't want to work with people who don't accept collaboration17:11
Tonio_ryanakca: collaborate with others is the reason I'm doing free software17:12
ryanakcaTonio_: *nod*, do you have a sponsor or do you just wait for someone to pick it up? It's incredibly fast with a sponsor, a day or two and it gets uploaded17:12
Tonio_ryanakca: I know my opinion about that is arch, especially since I have lots of friends at debian17:12
Riddellthe mysterious usrlp just added Kubuntu/UbuntuFeatureParity to KubuntuKarmicSpecs17:12
Tonio_ryanakca: I don't have a sponsor no, since I decided to stop sending emails 3 years ago except for very specific packages whom I know the maintainer well, fabo for example17:13
Tonio_ryanakca: my work is open source, so if they decide to repackage something they miss and we don't already have, I don't see why I should do that for them17:13
JontheEchidnaRiddell: that's usr, he's been annoying apachelogger and myself in the bug tracker for ages ;-)17:13
ryanakca*nod*17:14
RiddellJontheEchidna: and he registered a session at UDS which somehow got accepted17:14
Tonio_ryanakca: they are waisting a lot of energy not merging our packages when working on them, that's not my problem, especially since I tried to collaborate, and got mostly rejected...17:14
Tonio_ryanakca: and yeah, I know, I should be ass kicked speaking like this... ^^17:15
macodoes kubuntu include a cd burner by default?17:15
maco(on that feature parity topic)17:15
Tonio_ryanakca: anyway, I still love debian, just than my personal experience with them has been bad in the past, period :)17:15
ryanakcamaco: k3b17:15
ryanakcaTonio_: *nod*, I had the same issues, but the -fr people are quite welcomming and now that I have a sponsor, it's not all that bad17:16
Tonio_ryanakca: yeah and that's what I HATE about that17:17
Tonio_ryanakca: have a sponsor ? you are respectable17:18
Tonio_no sponsor ? then you're just a pet17:18
Tonio_ryanakca: and it's because we do the exact opposite than I contribute to ubuntu, and not to fedora or opensuse :)17:19
Tonio_ryanakca: so technically I should contribute to debian17:19
macoryanakca, ok i wasnt sure if that was included on the cd since its still qt317:19
Tonio_ryanakca: but my ethics is to contribute to the most opened community only :)17:19
Tonio_ryanakca: and to me my ethics is more important than the technical things, otherwise I would do bsd or osx stuff :)17:20
ryanakcamaco: I don't know about karmic, but it's here on jaunty...17:20
Tonio_ryanakca: and that's all thanks to Riddell :) since he invited me when I wanted to learn and didn't knew anything about packaging17:20
Tonio_ryanakca: when debian just told me to come back in 2 years, after having learned about the policy and packaging guide... :)17:21
ryanakca:)17:21
* Tonio_ must have been very unlucky17:21
Tonio_so I assume you can understand than when they came back 6 month later to ask me to contribute to debian instead, I was like....17:22
Tonio_unlikelly to accept :)17:22
macoryanakca, i honestly have not looked through the menu to see what is included by default. i have the apps i want installed, and i launch them like this: mod+shift+enter (to open a shell in xmonad), type in "nohup <command> &" mod+shift+c (to close the shell)17:22
ryanakcaTonio_: Of course17:22
Tonio_ryanakca: the time I decided to stop was after sending 5 debdifs for kdepim to fix packaging issues17:23
Tonio_ryanakca: none of them got any response, so I tried using an anonimous address a few weeks later, all accepted...17:23
Tonio_ryanakca: that was my last collaboration attempt :)17:23
* Tonio_ hugs Riddell for never rejecting n00bs :)17:24
ryanakcaTonio_: Mind you, I think Debian has pretty much gotten over the Ubuntu/Debian rift...17:24
ryanakcaI would think anyways, or hope...17:25
Tonio_ryanakca: not by ethics, but by obvious choice17:25
Tonio_ryanakca: and if they really do, then they should merge my rekonq package right ?17:25
Tonio_ryanakca: here is the deal, let's see what happens when they'll package it ;)17:25
ryanakcaTonio_: it hasn't been packaged yet, but there is an ITP for it...17:25
Tonio_ryanakca: yes, and if it goes in ubuntu first, then eventually it'll be merged right ?17:26
Tonio_we'll see ;)17:26
Tonio_JontheEchidna: archiving rekonq on revu17:32
apacheloggerTonio_: frescobaldi reviewed17:37
ryanakcaShould I get the konversation packaging under a bzr branch on LP?17:38
apacheloggersure17:38
* Tonio_ wonders if we should make kdenlive part of the distro...17:42
Tonio_sure it needs multiverse components, but we can use update-notifier-kde to install them17:42
Tonio_and both windows and osx have a video editor installed by default...17:43
Tonio_Riddell: couldn't that be considered when we drop kdelibs4 deps ?17:44
JontheEchidnahotness: http://imagebin.ca/view/a2W7MT.html17:49
RiddellTonio_: drop kdelibs4 deps from what?17:50
JontheEchidna^My default desktop proposal, though my screenshot is missing folderview17:50
Tonio_Riddell: frmo the cd :)17:51
macoJontheEchidna, nice :D17:52
* JontheEchidna hopes the Air theme is included in beta217:52
RiddellTonio_: we only have one and shtylman is working on it17:52
Tonio_Riddell: yes I know, but that'll make some space free17:52
Tonio_Riddell: so I was wondering if kdenlive shouldn't fit on the cd...17:53
Tonio_unless it is technically condamned to multiverse17:53
NightroseTonio_: i wanted to use kdenlive for some video editing 2 days ago (just add sound)17:53
Nightroseit was a nightmare :(17:53
Tonio_Nightrose: really ?17:54
Nightrosei gave up in the end17:54
Tonio_Nightrose: lots of people seem to like it except it isn't as stable as it should17:54
Nightrosesomeone more into video editing might judge it differently17:54
Nightrosebut I just couldn't make it do what i wanted it17:54
RiddellTonio_: we're 70MB oversized17:55
JontheEchidna oh17:55
Tonio_Riddell: ouch...17:55
Nightrosehehe17:55
Nightroseguess that solves it17:55
Tonio_Riddell: well on the dvd at least :)17:55
JontheEchidnawe're probably 70 MB over because kdeplasma-addons now has plasma-wallpapers-addons which depends on both the wallpapers from kdebase and kdeartwork17:55
macoJontheEchidna, oh, i'd say the text on the panel (i think thats part of the plasma theme?) isnt dark enough / high enough contrast, though the theme itself looks nice17:55
RiddellTonio_: sure, if you want to get rid of the multiverse deps and do the main inclusion report for it and any remaining deps17:56
Riddellbut it has complex libraries and they may not get through MIR17:56
rgreeningTonio_: I have branched the latest usb-creator and have in under lp:~roderick-greening/usb-creator/kde-frontend17:56
JontheEchidnamaco: yeah, the oxygen team really outdid itself with the Air theme, it rocks17:56
Tonio_Riddell: just a thought, mlt in main it pretty harad, that's true17:57
rgreeningTonio_: I subscribed you to that branch so you can see what changes, etc I make.17:57
Tonio_Riddell: but the latest upstream release avoids code duplication, so why not17:57
JontheEchidnathough I can't see how you could make the panel text any more black... perhaps you just don't like my font settings ;)17:57
Tonio_multiverse deps can be installed the way we do for k3b for example17:57
Tonio_atm I wonder why latest kdenlive upload ftbfs... weird...17:57
JontheEchidnamy amarok broke :(17:58
macoJontheEchidna, it looks grey when i look at the screenshot17:58
* Tonio_ notice we should ship with a default kdenliverc file too in kds17:59
JontheEchidnamaco: probably jpeg artifacts17:59
Tonio_major universe apps shoul also get their nagscreen removed and so on17:59
JontheEchidnaso after the latest updates my amarok is just sitting there "updating system configuration." :(18:02
JontheEchidnano splash screen or anything18:02
apacheloggerso18:06
apacheloggerit is 7 pm and I am so drunk that I almost fell over18:06
apacheloggerI guess that is no good18:06
JontheEchidnapurging and reinstalling amarok fixed it18:10
macoSput, feature request: "mark as away on all networks"18:16
* maco back to being away18:16
jussi01maco: file a bug report?18:19
Tonio_apachelogger: impressive review for frescobaldi :) that quick...18:33
Mamarokwhat is frescobaldi?18:34
Tonio_apachelogger: also, lots of applications have very hight initialpreference, especially kde 4 apps...18:37
Tonio_apachelogger: grep -re InitialPre /usr/share/applications18:37
apacheloggerTonio_: most of them should not18:38
Tonio_apachelogger: sure18:38
Tonio_apachelogger: I'll ping upstream about that, but won't patch, are you okay about that ?18:38
Tonio_also what to do about mo files ?18:38
apacheloggerreally, IMHO that stanza should only be used by distros or for core utils like say dolphin18:38
apacheloggerTonio_: I would patch it away TBH18:39
apacheloggerif a user installs an application after frescobaldi it clearly indicates that the app didn't fit his needs18:39
apacheloggerso the app shouldn't enforce an override18:39
Tonio_apachelogger: or repack the tarball would be easier I suspect no ?18:40
apacheloggerwell, patching is easier for this change18:40
apacheloggerhowever, in combination with the .mo stuff you might want to go for repack and ensure upstream adopts the changes for his next release18:41
macojussi01, i had to put it on the screen so i wouldnt forget by the end of picking up lunch :P im forgetful18:41
apacheloggerbecause I really think the .mos are generated at build time18:41
apacheloggersec, gotta check18:41
Tonio_apachelogger: kk18:41
apachelogger[  0%] [  0%] cd po && /usr/bin/msgfmt -v -o /tmp/buildd/frescobaldi-0.7.9/obj-i486-linux-gnu/po/tr.mo /tmp/buildd/frescobaldi-0.7.9/po/tr.po18:41
apacheloggeryeah18:41
apacheloggerthey just need to be stripped from the tarball18:41
apacheloggerTonio_: so you might want to carry the intiialpref change via a repack as well, but make sure it gets applied by upstream for the next tarball :)18:42
Tonio_yup18:42
Tonio_I have to reboot18:42
Tonio_I'll fix all of that18:42
Nightrosedo we have Skrooge packages somewhere?18:57

* Mamarok still wonders how somebody can "accidentally" press this key combination...21:53
Mamarokok, the Xorg argument is compelling, thx :)21:53
Nightroseit's a key combination from windows iirc21:53
Nightrosei'm don't remember what it does though21:54
* Nightrose lost work twice due to killing x this way btw21:54
Nightrosenow i know better but back then i didn't21:54
Nightroseso i think the decision is good and those who know can turn it back on21:55
Nightrose(I did turn it back on)21:55
m4vemacs or something uses that key combination21:57
_Groo_m4v: emacs uses every key, every combo, every thing you can think off.. emacs is pure evil...21:59
JontheEchidnalex79: I haven't started anything, but you might want to coordinate with ryanakca since I think he was going to set up a bzr branch for konversation22:00
JontheEchidnaI don't think anybody's started it yet22:00
ryanakcaJontheEchidna: What, the merge?22:01
JontheEchidnaryanakca: new upstream alpha a few hours ago22:01
ryanakcaJontheEchidna: Ah, lovely22:01
JontheEchidnaif modax is fast enough maybe it's even in debian experimental22:01
lex79JontheEchidna: there are two problem with konversation22:02
MamarokNightrose: I am all for it, just had to argue with the people making the Swiss Remix not to change it back again...22:02
ryanakcaDebian has 1.2~alpha2-122:02
lex791)missing documentation22:02
JontheEchidnabtw, KDE 4.3 beta2 tagging in 12 hours22:02
NightroseMamarok: ewwww - ok22:02
lex792) kubuntu's patch not applied22:02
lex79I think due the last merge22:03
MamarokNightrose: we will release a warning for the fglrx driver though, this is a big mess IMHO, still can't use my ATI card...22:03
JontheEchidnaneversfelde: oh, you'll need to include debhelper.mk if you use kde.mk22:04
neversfeldeJontheEchidna: ok, thank you, I ll try it22:05
m4v_Groo_: yep, i'm with vim.22:06
ryanakcalex79: lp:~kubuntu-members/konversation/ubuntu22:06
ryanakcalex79: Are you familiar with bzr-builddeb ?22:07
lex79ryanakca: no, btw I'm not kubuntu member, so I can't push on it :)22:07
ryanakcalex79: push to lp:~<yourlpusername>/konversation/ubuntu and someone will merge it in. Anyways, bzr-builddeb is easy to use. cd to wherever you want to work, then go: bzr init-repo konversation && cd konversation && bzr checkout lp:~kubuntu-members/konversation/ubuntu && cd ubuntu && bzr bd-do   .... do your changes, debuild, try building, etc. then Ctrl-D to exit, if you added any files, bzr add them, if you removed them, bzr rm. then: ...22:10
ryanakca... bzr commit -m "Blah blah blah" && bzr push lp:~lex79/konversation/ubuntu   ... and poke someone to merge it in22:10
ryanakcaHope that makes sense :)22:10
Tonio_hohohoho : http://websvn.kde.org/trunk/playground/pim/syncml/ !!!!!!!!22:11
Tonio_tah, we need22:11
lex79ryanakca: thanks :)22:11
neversfeldeTonio_: cool22:11
Tonio_neversfelde: I'll package...22:12
ryanakcalex79: Feel free to ask in here if you run into problems, and you can get the documentation for bzr-builddeb here: http://jameswestby.net/bzr/builddeb/user_manual/ ... we use merge mode22:12
Tonio_neversfelde: it's a SoC project, so therefore should be okay for karmic22:12
neversfeldeTonio_: very good, let me know, when you have somethin usable22:12
neversfeldeI ll test it :)22:12
* neversfelde ist excited22:13
Tonio_neversfelde: also I have a gosync account to test ;)22:14
lex79ryanakca: thanks, seems easy :)22:16
neversfeldehow to save a document on an Infinoted Server with kobby?22:20
ryanakcaneversfelde: Not sure, I'm still trying to get my packages built for Debian22:39
neversfeldemhh, promising software, but I need to figure out how to use :)22:40
neversfeldeif someone has the time. bug #382865 needs a sponsor22:44
ubottuLaunchpad bug 382865 in plasma-widget-daisy "New upstream version (0.0.4.14) available" [Undecided,In progress] https://launchpad.net/bugs/38286522:44
JontheEchidnaneversfelde: uploaded, thanks for your contribution to Kubuntu23:01
neversfeldeDanke23:01
neversfeldeäh thank you :)23:01
JontheEchidnayou're welcome :)23:03
RiddellNCommander: you pung?23:09
NCommanderRiddell, I did, but I got slangasek to answer my question instead :-)23:09
neversfeldewhy is there no process with bug 379566, do I have to ask someone to get it over the line or is it just because of UDS and all devs singing karaoke?23:09
ubottuLaunchpad bug 379566 in jaunty-backports "Please backport choqok-0.6 to jaunty" [Wishlist,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/37956623:09
Riddell_Groo_: I don't think we've said hi23:10
NCommandernellery, backports in general haven't been seeing a lot of love recently23:10
NCommanderer neversfelde23:10
NCommanderOh, Scott already acked it23:10
NCommanderRiddell, can you push the magic-backport button?23:11
neversfeldeNCommander: ok23:11
Riddell_Groo_: we had to duplicate the amarok packaging because I wasn't sure where you had put your packaging and I couldn't be sure you'd turn up in time after you didn't appear on irc yesterday23:11
Riddell_Groo_: so some duplicate work there, sorry about that, but lesson is never leave IRC :)23:12
Riddellneversfelde: it's just UDS getting in the way, I spent the whole day doing New queue which hadn't been emptied in three weeks23:12
RiddellNCommander: on chokoq or something else?23:13
neversfeldek, so I can write my next backport request :)23:13
NCommanderRiddell, chokoq please23:13
neversfeldedon't search for chokoq, better choqok :D23:14
Tonio_neversfelde: the syncml thing doesn't compile here.... I'll check regularly, but we need to have this in for karmic :)23:14
neversfeldeTonio_: yes, I am looking forward, good to see some progress in this sector23:15
Tonio_neversfelde: can you compile it ?23:16
Tonio_neversfelde: it won't find syncml.h when the includes are good.... hard to know what happens...23:17
neversfeldeTonio_: I didn't try it23:17
Tonio_cmake is nice, but harder to "debug" when something wrong occurs...23:17
neversfeldemhh, it is quite new software, so hopefully it will grow better the next days23:19
neversfeldeI would be glad to write a doc about syncing karmic with smartphones and others23:20
Tonio_neversfelde: well SoC projects tend to be achived especially when those are little ones23:21
Tonio_neversfelde: I'm full of hope =)23:21
neversfelde:D23:22
neversfeldesehr gut23:22
lubyou7topic23:33
dtchennixternal: eh?23:36
dtchennixternal: you know the drill23:36
nixternalya, forgot to post the link yesterday..what is the link to the script again?23:37
=== Mez_ is now known as Mez
dtchennixternal: use ubuntu-bug alsa-base23:39
dtchenunless you're sick of LP, in which case the script is at http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-info.sh23:40
nixternalrunning now23:40
neversfeldeRiddell: thx for pushing the backport button^^23:40
_Groo_Riddell: hi Riddell, yeah during the week i dont usually enter irc because i cant at work and im very tired when i get home23:40
_Groo_Riddell: so i usually contribute ruding the weekend23:41
_Groo_Riddell: but point taken, ive sent my debian/ to apachelogger anyway, but he was confused with it because i didnt document what i had done23:42
nixternaldtchen: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/38296823:42
ubottuUbuntu bug 382968 in alsa-driver "Sound works for system notifications through the PC speaker - no sound at all with multimedia apps" [Undecided,New]23:42
dtchennixternal: is pulseaudio installed?23:44
dtchenit doesn't appear to be active from your output23:44
Riddell_Groo_: good to have you here though, maybe you can get into some more kubuntu ninjas work with beta 2 coming out23:45
nixternal<<< nixternal@ShakaDoobie :: ~ :: 17:45.52 Tue Jun 02 200923:46
nixternal>>> [1044] dpkg -l \*pulse\* | grep \^ii23:46
nixternalii  libpulse0                                               1:0.9.15-2ubuntu1                        PulseAudio client librarie23:46
_Groo_Riddell: sure.. one thing im trying to see is if kdebindings can be compiled this time, since it brakes some pyqt stuff (like some amarok extensions and some superkarmaba themes)23:46
dtchennixternal: groups $USER |grep audio >/dev/null;echo $?23:47
nixternal123:47
_Groo_Riddell: from what ive seen so far, well have to backport current pqt from latest snapshots and some more stuff23:47
_Groo_pyqt23:47
dtchennixternal: sudo adduser $USER audio, then log out and back in23:47
Riddell_Groo_: you don't go for the easy ones do you :)23:48
_Groo_Riddell: like for example? :D23:48
nixternallogging out..brb23:48
Riddellanything but kdebindings :)23:49
_Groo_Riddell: are you working on kdebindings? or is a no no  for beta2 also?23:49
nixternaldtchen: next?23:50
dtchennixternal: apport-collect -p alsa-base 38296823:52
nixternalit works, jsut giving you a tough time because I totally didn't even catch the fact I wasn't even in the damn audio group anymore23:52
dtchenthat's still a bug23:52
nixternalok, I iwll continue on then23:53
dtchenpolicykit, via consolekit, manages access to @audio23:53
dtchenyou shouldn't need to be in @audio to access /dev/snd/*23:53
nixternalargh, stupid x-www-browser crap23:53
_Groo_oh btw guys.. anyone whos using kde 4.3 beta 1. why policykit doesnt show up in systemsettings?23:53
dtchenthat said, i don't know whether there's a policykit/consolekit/hal/devicekit/libudev migration23:53
dtchenIOW, i expect stuff to be broken WRT policykit/consolekit/hal/devicekit/libudev until a couple alphas from now23:54
nixternaldtchen: done23:56
_Groo_Riddell: where do i see the ninja tasks at hand?23:57
Riddell_Groo_: we'll make a wiki page when the tars become available (probably tomorrow)23:59
