MythbuntuGuest71 | Hi. I'd like to add a second user to mythweb who cannot access settings. How can I do this? | 03:04 |
---|---|---|
darthanubis | can't | 03:09 |
MythbuntuGuest71 | Not even by setting up a different realm? | 03:13 |

hads | You can't. Perhaps you could try denying by URL for specific users from Apache though it depends on the URL scheme. | 03:30 |
hads | Either that or go PHP hacking. | 03:30 |
dewman | Good Evening, I am trying to follow the mythtv dot org slash wiki slash snd-bt97x document and where i am getting stuck at is where it says making your system load the module when it boots. I am not sure what it means when it says echo "snd-bt87x, Can someone explain to me what that section means? I would love to get the sound to work correctly rather then to connect a plug from the tuner to the sound card. | 03:33 |
MythbuntuGuest71 | OK. I think that would make a nice feature. Thanks for all the great work. Bye. | 03:33 |
dewman | Here is the log files in case anybody asks.... Via Pastebin... | 03:37 |

tony_o | Hi all. I've got a question. Trying to install Mythbuntu using Wubi. I get to a screen that asks me about using the open source driver for my graphics card (Radeon 8500DV) or using the AMD drivers. If I select the AMD driver I can choose a TV out method. No matter what I do I cannot get the forward button to become available. Any thoughts? | 04:09 |
darthanubis | Here is a thought...Don't use WUBI to install mythhbuntu, like what is the point of that? | 04:27 |
hads | Just upgraded my main backend to jaunty, seems to have gone fine. I had to remove networkmanager as it was disconnecting then reconnecting the LAN but apart from that everything seems normal. | 05:49 |
fo3nix | Hey guys | 11:42 |
fo3nix | before I go out and buy an Apple bluetooth keyboard (new slimline alu ones) | 11:43 |
fo3nix | Can anyone confirm that they work well in Mythbuntu? | 11:43 |
fo3nix | (I've seen some conflicting reports from reading around forums and google, but most reports are old.) | 11:43 |
gbee | fo3nix: might be worth asking that in #ubuntu since you will reach a wider audience and the question isn't specific to mythbuntu | 11:59 |
fo3nix | gbee: ok, thanks. | 12:15 |
Zanthus | damn mythtv | 13:57 |
Zinn | Zanthus: Please watch your language. | 13:57 |
Zanthus | whoops | 13:58 |
Zanthus | sorry | 13:58 |
Zanthus | I almost had it working too | 13:58 |
dewman | almost only counts in horseshoes.... | 13:59 |
dewman | =) | 13:59 |
Zanthus | yeah | 14:00 |
Zanthus | I got one tuner going, then started messing around with the config for the frontend and now it can't pick up any signal | 14:00 |
Zanthus | there's still signal coming down that cable though | 14:00 |
Zanthus | something just went slightly awry | 14:01 |
Zanthus | the really annoying thing was that my mythbox was working | 14:03 |
Zanthus | but the ext3 partition became full to capacity with log files | 14:04 |
Zanthus | then the xfce stopped working properly | 14:04 |
Zanthus | then the sql database started having some kind of issue | 14:04 |
dewman | how much disk do you have? | 14:06 |
Zanthus | its 80gb, and I installed using the mythbuntu 8.10 amd64 image | 14:13 |
rhpot1991 | Zanthus: you should prob repair your db, if / fills up mysql will shut down or die | 14:29 |
Zanthus | ah, that makes sense now | 14:29 |
Zanthus | because the ext3 partition got filled to the brim with log files, that's why the sql errors started | 14:30 |
Zanthus | I do have a question though; after I get mythbuntu all set up the way I want it; what's the best program to take an image of the hard drive so that I can do a complete restore later on, if I need to? | 14:34 |
henrik_ | gbee: where can I get in contact with the radeon opensource developers? | 17:28 |
gbee | they have an iRC channel on this network, but their mailing list might be better - http://lists.opensuse.org/radeonhd/ | 17:30 |
henrik_ | thx! so this has nothing to do with mesa or is mesa also maintained by radeon group? | 17:31 |
henrik_ | I saw that superm1 fixed this problem before. | 17:32 |
gbee | http://lists.x.org/mailman/listinfo/xorg-driver-ati if you want the "radeon" driver and not "radeonhd" | 17:32 |
henrik_ | yea! my notbook is problebly not hd material ;) | 17:33 |
henrik_ | But do you know if this has been reported to them before? | 17:34 |
javatexan | hey robin hood are you around? | 19:29 |
rhpot1991 | javatexan: you mean me :) ? | 20:38 |
dewman | Hello, last night i posted a message here and I was wondering if anyone had seen it. | 20:51 |
