mechcozmoas i'm setting up the Input connections, should i have the coax plugged in?00:31
mechcozmo(was planning on setting it up in my workarea, then moving it over to the TV cable.  it does have ethernet, though)00:31
tgm4883well yea, you are going to need to scan for channels00:32
mechcozmowas hoping it could just read from SchedulesDirect... ok, let's see what magic we can make00:33
mechcozmothanks for your help!00:33
tgm4883well you should also be able to import it from SD too, but i prefer scanning00:34
mechcozmoit does seem more likely to work, as it'll get the sources directly from the tap, if you will00:35
waltmHi all.  I've been running mythbuntu 9.04 with vdpau fixes and everything was running fine till a few months ago after an update.  the internal player will not play .mkv files with dts or ac3 audio (spdif passthrough) that used to play fine.  mplayer plays them in stereo tho.  It might be audio related but I don't know enough about how things work to figure it out. I have pasted the logs at http://mythbuntu.pastebin.com/f22a03564 as I do not know what t00:39
tgm4883waltm, you are in the wrong channel.  Mythbuntu does not come with VDPAU fixes.  You need to find whoever made that repo available and talk to them00:43
waltmOk, thanks.00:43

MythbuntuGuest61Hi All.  I was just wondering as I tore my hair out trying to find my missing RAM...  The Mythbuntu 9.04 amd64 iso does not seem to be 64 bit - rather it is an i686 build.  Is this correct?  Is it possible to find a true 64 bit release for download?  Thx DJK14:03
rhpot1991MythbuntuGuest61: thats not correct14:07
rhpot1991unless something went wrong, provide some information about where you got it from?14:08
MythbuntuGuest61Thk for the reply.  I got it from uname -a, which gives "Linux ubuntu 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:57:59 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux", and it can only see 3G of my 4G RAM...  (excluding graphics RAM)14:11
rhpot1991Linux ultramagnus 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:58:03 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux14:24
MythbuntuGuest61Sorry about that delay.  Were you saying that your Mythbuntu was x86_64?15:20
rhpot1991yep15:24
rhpot1991so where did you get your iso from?15:24
MythbuntuGuest61internode mirror in Australia.  Maybe it's the case I've accidentally downloaded the i386 version, which is actually i686 instead?15:25
rhpot1991what is the name of the iso?15:29
MythbuntuGuest61erm, can't say, I deleted it to save space after I'd burnt it :(  I just checked the mirror again, and the options are i386 and amd64.  I'll make an md5sum of my cd and see which it matches.  Just to confirm, though, could it be the case that the i386 version is actually i686?15:33
rhpot1991Linux megatron 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:57:59 UTC 2009 i686 GNU/Linux15:36
rhpot1991thats the x8615:36
MythbuntuGuest61OK, that must be it then.  I've accidentally downloaded the i386 iso, and then gotten confused when uname gave me i686.  I've also just checked the md5sum of the CD, and it matches the i386 iso md5sum listed on the mythbuntu website.  Thanks heaps for your help - I can stop scratching my head now!  Thx, DJK15:42
