HewAnyone had their entire session crashing recently? I'm not sure what's causing it.05:51
crdlbHew: the most likely culprit is X itself; check /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old after the crash06:24
crdlbif X crashed, there should be a backtrace at the bottom06:24

reto`howdy... I've upgraded to koala yesterday on my hp mini 2133... now the resolution problem is solved (was an issue on 9.04)... I've encountered a really strange thing now on koala... when I try to edit my connections to set a static IP and I start entering the host ip it will log me out instantly when I enter a "2"10:21
reto`so I thought I'll copy/paste the address from the terminal... but it's the same thing there... as soon as I enter "2" it will log me out, so it seems that editing the connection triggers something that makes the 2-key log out10:22
reto`kann mir jemand sagen, ob es möglich ist die network settings nicht per user, also system wide hinzukriegen?10:25
reto`also über "interfaces"?10:25
ghindoAny particular reason GDM is being held back?10:35
oldude67probably cause it hasnt caught up yet was what i was told.10:35

SeverianI have a machine I use for testing ubuntu+1.  In the past, I have been advised to skip the update when a partial upgrade was offered.  It has been doing that for a couple of days now.  Should I keep waiting, or was the advice wrong?  This is a pretty straightforward install.    No added repositories, but about 100 packages added from the main repositories.10:39
RAOFOh, no?  It doesn't seem to now.10:39
ghindoHrm, I'll update again and see what happens10:39

yofelnvidia 185.18.14 builds fine with dkms on 2.6.29.616:04

yofelkellyh: got the full dkms error here?16:05
kellyhno, sorry16:05
kellyhit was against nvidia 180.xx.xx16:05
yofelkellyh: what kernel are you trying to build on? I'll give you the manual dkms build command16:06
BUGabundoyeah that could be your trouble16:06
kellyhso might well be because nvidia needs to be more uptodate16:06
BUGabundoyep16:06
kellyhyofel: was 2.6.28-1316:06
BUGabundoif you indeed want -3116:06
BUGabundotry X-edgers PPA16:06
yofelBUGabundo: wait16:06
yofel185 should be in x-swat16:06
kellyhdon't have the .29/.30/.31 .debs anymore :/16:07
yofelkellyh: get the newer driver from here: https://edge.launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates16:07
kellyhyofel: ok, gonna give them a try16:12
kellyhyofel: http://pastebin.com/m6990d6bf - get that when synaptic installs the updated drivers16:18
BUGabundohumm I wonder if it is refusing to install on -2816:19
yofelhuh? why does nvidia-common want to run debconf?16:19
yofeland dkms doesn't even try to build the driver o.O16:20
kellyhi'm running mainline .29.3 atm, so that was run whilst using .29.316:20
yofelah wait, at the bottom it does it16:21

* BUGabundo wonders where everyone is getting there new GDM16:34
BUGabundomine is still being held back16:34
yofelBUGabundo: why?16:34
BUGabundono idea16:34
BUGabundomy guess dependecies build failure16:34
BUGabundohaven't spent time investigating16:35
flutefluteI think there may have been a conflict with it and the fast user switcher16:35
yofelI had a conflict with fast-user-switch applet and ubuntu-desktop for a day, but after that it installed fine (and removed that fast-.. thing)16:35
yofelI didn't use it anyway16:36
wolfgangYohoho. My kwin doesn't work.. :/ why could that be?16:40
wolfgang(on fglrx drivers)16:40
yofelok... in my jaunty vm 185 builds fine with 2.6.29.6 and .3016:51
yofelthe nvidia-common exit status 10 comes from dkms not building the module I guess16:51
yofelnow that the new driver is installed running dpkg --configure -a might help16:51
yofelif not, she'll have to run the dkms commands by hand16:52
yofelwell, gotta go run for now, bb in ~2h16:52
