lesshaste | something has gone horribly wrong and when X starts it comes up with the log in screen but neither the mouse nor keyboard do anything, this is in jaunty ubuntu with the radeon driver. the X log doesn't look that bad to me.. here are the EE lines I see. "open /dev/fb0: no such file or directory", "config/hal: couldn't initialised context: (null) (null)" | 15:52 |
lesshaste | the X log is at http://pastebin.com/f6b56a8c7 | 15:53 |
jcristau | why is hal not running? | 15:53 |
lesshaste | I don't know... something broke after I installed qemu it seems.. | 15:53 |
lesshaste | can I reinstall it? | 15:53 |
lesshaste | jcristau, I could just do sudo apt-get install hal.. | 15:56 |
lesshaste | what do you think? | 15:56 |
jcristau | i don't know. i asked you a question. | 15:56 |
lesshaste | jcristau, the answer to your question is that I don't know.. the only thing I did was install qemu and kqemu | 15:57 |
lesshaste | this seems to have killed hal I suppose | 15:57 |
lesshaste | hal is installed | 15:57 |
lesshaste | I would need to reinstall it I suppose | 15:57 |
lesshaste | sudo apt-get install --reinstall hal | 15:59 |
lesshaste | seems to have fixed it for the time being.. weird | 15:59 |
