=== akgraner_ is now known as akgraner [01:28] ogasawara, you are way too good to me :-) [01:28] I'll work on these a bit and hit you up with any questions as needed via e-mail [01:28] thanks [01:29] JFo: sounds good, thanks [01:30] JFo: I'm hoping you'll get some responses from those bugs so then we can work on triaging those with responses [01:30] ok, got some from the ones yesterday [01:30] do we need to do more to them? [01:31] JFo: cool, can you email me back the list of ones that got feedback? [01:31] sure [01:31] JFo: I'll take a look and see if we need to do anything else [01:31] ok [01:32] JFo: I'm gonna step away for a little bit but I'll check email later this evening [01:32] ok, thanks again :) === MobileMyles6o7 is now known as TwoToneSpirit === bjf is now known as bjf_afk === smb_tp is now known as smb [13:37] //hello/ [13:38] question... [13:38] I'm trying to install a proproietary ATI driver and I get issues with dpkg not being able to find kernel sources (even though I've apt-got installed linux-source-2.6.8) [13:38] what gives? [13:40] hi NCommander [13:44] hey roey_ [13:49] HI [13:49] question [13:49] first off, anyone here? [13:55] NCommander: I'm getting problems with a package I'm trying to build; the make system keeps complaining that it cannot find the kernel sources under /lib/modules/(kernel version)/build or (kernel version)/source [13:55] NCommander: for the life of me I cannot figure this one out [14:01] bbiab. [14:01] [16:42] i'm curious as to how it is that bug 374122 gets an sru, but bug 341735 doesn't; randomness of the universe? [18:59] chrisATberlinINg: because they fail to build on i386, pretty sure the fix is upstream now so it should pick back up at 2.6.31-rc3 [19:00] ok thank you Sarvatt [19:01] there was a problem compiling the i915 module on older gcc's that the machine that builds those uses for a bit there making it fail [19:11] Sarvatt: and what i said? [19:25] :( === zul_ is now known as zul [19:33] hello all. I've got a reproducible kernel panic that I'd like to report. I'm looking for the best way of providing useful output. I got some output by appending "no_console_suspend" to the kernel like of grub and triggering the panic, but I don't think it's complete. I can show it to anyone who is interested though [19:35] if it's reproducible on a machine with a serial port, i'd send the console there [19:36] http://imagebin.ca/view/mldpclrA.html [19:36] sn9: there is no serial port [19:37] (nor do I have access to a machine with a serial port and bluetooth) [19:37] there is no backtrace for some reason [19:38] what other option do I have? [19:38] kdump? [19:38] netconsole is also possible; i never saw kdump, but it sounds better' [19:39] but none will help if the panic dump has no backtrace [19:41] right [19:41] ok, I'll give netconsole a try. thank you!
