Sarvatthmm, the g-s-d touchpad tab in mouse settings is adjusting things in /desktop/gnome/peripherals/mouse/ and not /desktop/gnome/peripherals/touchpad where the keys actually work now05:45
mac_vSarvatt: i think touchpad ,settings are from gsynaptics05:47
mac_vi just had problems and installing gsynaptic fixed all05:48
Sarvattno /desktop/gnome/peripherals/touchpad is from http://git.gnome.org/cgit/gnome-settings-daemon/commit/?id=4eb9bd09219afbb56f114a2d10bc585e24db803e05:48
Sarvattgsynaptics doesnt work on my system because xserver-xorg-input-synaptics dropped SHMConfig support05:48
mac_vSarvatt: have you tried gpointing-device-settings ? but that has no tap-to-click05:49
Sarvatti can adjust things with fine its just g-s-d is loading the default settings for /desktop/gnome/peripherals/touchpad every boot which has tap to click false after it loads the hal settings05:50
Sarvattyeah, its not a problem changing things here, i'm talking about the package being broken for some reason05:50
mac_voh... ok05:50
Sarvattits like loading the old touchpad menu thats adjusting the settings in /desktop/gnome/peripherals/mouse even though the patch that added that was dropped..05:51
Sarvattand not the new touchpad menu with all of the new options that works right05:51
mac_vah... got it05:51
Sarvattoh i see, its a gnome-control-center problem05:59
Sarvatthttp://git.gnome.org/cgit/gnome-control-center/commit/?id=e14a84a718d9882d320de1f359c0547836a9b4e306:02
Sarvattso we dropped the custom one that was changing settings in mouse and have nothing interacting with the touchpad gconf keys, and the touchpad tab is doing aboslutely nothing right now06:04
Sarvattoookay I give up trying to add http://git.gnome.org/cgit/gnome-control-center/commit/?id=e14a84a718d9882d320de1f359c0547836a9b4e3 to fix the touchpad stuff  :D cant figure out how to add it since it patches configure.in and that change doesnt get picked up so it builds without xinput support so no touchpad tab07:48
huatshello  everyone !15:35
chrisccoulsonhello huats!15:41
huatshi chrisccoulson15:41
chrisccoulsonyou just missed something exciting. some tumbleweed appeared and then went away a few minutes before you arrived15:42
chrisccoulson(it's very quiet in here ;))15:42
chrisccoulsonSarvatt - just saw your earlier message regarding g-c-c - didrocks is already working on the update15:43
Sarvattah good to hear! thanks for the info chriscoulson15:44
chrisccoulsonbut if you're desparate for the update - you need to do an autotools update with "autoreconf -i" after touching configure.in15:44
hyperairtumbleweed?15:46
Sarvattahh silly me was using -f with autoreconf, thanks for the tip :)15:47
hyperair-vfi, to be exact15:47
hyperairthat's what i see in most debian/rules scripts15:48
Sarvattyeah i used that and just autoreconf, both used -f and -f screws it up15:48
chrisccoulsoni've seen people say that you should never run it with -f15:54
Sarvattseems like its taboo on all gnome packages the way they build at least :D15:56
Sarvattoops almost forgot libxi-dev in build depends now16:02
Sarvattwell that was *horribly* convoluted and i dont know exactly what I did to make it work but its compiled now, thanks again for the help chrisccoulson!16:12
Sarvattjust removing patches 26 and 28, applying the git commit by hand, removing 99_autoreconf.patch, touching configure.in and running autoreconf -i  didn't work, got this16:14
Sarvattgnome_appearance_properties-appearance-main.o: In function `main':16:14
Sarvatt/opt/source/xorg-pkg-tools/gnome-control-center-2.27.3/capplets/appearance/appearance-main.c:174: undefined reference to `effects_init'16:14
Sarvattcollect2: ld returned 1 exit status16:14
Sarvattwhich i was assuming was because of the new stuff added in 95_desktop-effects-integration.patch not getting picked up in that autoreconf -i16:15
Sarvattso i paused it after the patch was added, touched a ton of .in's because autotools is the devil and ran autoreconf -i again, then it built fine16:16

* Sarvatt cheers16:26
* diverse_izzue tunes into Sarvatt's cheers16:28
hyperairSarvatt: still doesn't have circular scrolling? =(16:48
