niadhHey I have an unusual issue was wondering if anyone had come across it before. My motherboard failed so I replaced it, ubuntu appeared to not need to be reinstalled because everything appeared to work fine. After a week the sound card would not produce any sound and the live CD can't seem to play music either12:22
yofelniadh: this  channel is for help on triaging bugs, for usual support use #ubuntu for stable releases and #ubuntu+1 for karmic12:25
niadhHence why I'm here, is it not a valid bug? Am searching the bug list atm to find something similar see if it's been reported yet12:26
yofelniadh: which ubuntu release are you using?12:27
niadh9.0412:27

maxbHi, any thoughts on where I can most usefully file a bug noting that the default murrine progress bar causes Xorg to chew CPU ?18:16
maxbIt rather cuts across X, gtk, and graphics drivers18:16
Kamusinis it Linux Mint  supported by ubuntu?18:18

kklimondahey, why is bug 297793 still on hugday list for nautilus?20:17
ubot4Launchpad bug 297793 in gvfs "Inconsistent spelling of "Filesystem" (vs. "File system")" [Low,In progress] https://launchpad.net/bugs/29779320:17
kklimonda(it is triaged and assigned to desktop team)20:18
kklimondadesktop-bugs*20:18
kklimondaAlso I think there is something wrong with bug watches for GNOME bugzilla - it's another bug I've seen that can't import bug from there20:19
thekornkklimonda, it is in the category of "14 Bugs with Patches"20:19
thekornand this bugreport has attachments which are marked as aptches20:20
kklimondathekorn, yes - but it's triaged and beeing worked on20:20
kklimondamaybe because it's in gvts..20:20
thekornkklimonda, I'm not sure, but the items in this category seem to be totally independant from status20:21
thekorncriteria seems to be patch or no patch20:22
kklimondafrom a patch attached I think that this particular bug shouldn't be reported against nautilus as nautilus takes name from gvfs module.. I'll check it and probably invalidate nautilus task..20:22
thekornI think this category does not make sense at all for this hugday, as the desktop team has a very strict policy on how to handle patches,20:24
thekornand what status such bugreports get,20:24
thekornso maybe "working" on them as hugday tasks might cause more harm than beeing helpful20:25
bdmurraypart of the intent of the patches section was to unmark patches which are clearly not like screenshots20:34
thekornbdmurray, ok, but the desktop guys are doing so good work, there will never be an attachment marked as a patch when it's not a patch ;)20:38
bdmurraythekorn: ah, that's great! pedro has been setting up the hug days most recently so maybe mention it to him?20:39
kklimondaactuallly i've found one png marked as patch just now ;)20:40
bdmurraysome images can be patches...20:40
kklimondabut I have to agree that desktop team is pretty good at keeping their bugs clean20:40
kklimondabdmurray, when you mark file as a patch it's content type is set to text/plain and you can't open it directly in browser..20:42
kklimondai mean if it's an image and not a text file.20:42
bdmurrayI think sometimes it is set to other things than text/plain like if it is a debdiff but that text/plain will be used as a fallback if the type is not detected.  However, I'm not positive - the launchpad team would know best.20:44
BUGabundohey hey hey guud evening ;)21:30
* BUGabundo is Happy.... enjoy while you can :D21:30
kklimondahappy? why?21:30
BUGabundobetter question: why not!!21:34
BUGabundoI'm that kinda of guy! I'll be Happy unless I have reasons to not be!21:34
kklimondaBUGabundo, dunno, I live in Poland - nothing to be happy about ;)21:34
