=== asac_ is now known as asac === fta_ is now known as fta [08:21] I'm new to the idea of ubuntu mobile. Can I install it on a winmo pda? === filipegarcia_ is now known as filipegarcia === cprov is now known as cprov-lunch === cprov-lunch is now known as cprov [18:38] hi [18:38] https://launchpad.net/~fitpc2/+archive/ppa can anybody tell me if mplayer-vaapi from this site is available for lpia or not available? [19:31] Hi guys... is UbuntuMID for Karmic dead? We've not seen anything from you all for some time... [19:39] lbt, there is the current image here http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-mid/daily-live/current/ [19:39] but it seems to be from the end of May [19:40] there was an intention to work with Mer [19:40] but we've seen very little since the joint meeting [19:41] i bet that is because the focus is more towards arm i believe [19:41] ? ubuntu or Mer? [19:42] ubuntu-arm [19:42] Sorry, not following. [19:42] We (Mer) haven't seen much from ubuntu MID [19:42] Mer is an arm distro [19:43] is Ubuntu MID now focussing on Atom? [19:44] or is it that MID as such is not being developed because ubuntu-arm is being developed instead? [19:45] Ubuntu MID (or rather the lpia port) will be community maintained..developer resources have moved to focus m ore on arm..so it is the second although i am not sure MID will die [19:46] it feels like the 'based on Mer' part has stalled out though? [19:47] dunno..i have no inside knowledge of this however i just try to follow the winding path of mobile ubuntu :) [19:47] heh ... I'm giving a talk this weekend and I'm thinking that I should remove the "Ubuntu MID said they'd be using Mer" slide [19:47] thanks. well, maybe someone will pipe up at some point. [19:48] i saw that slide IIRC in Stskeeps presentation [19:48] yes, I think he took it out for debconf [19:48] i an fairly certain that there will be a karmic release of MID [19:49] Iguess at this point it seems unlikely that any Mer code will be going in though [19:49] as i understood it , it was karmic +1 with the Mer code [19:50] shame - we did a lot of work on working out a process to make supporting MID easier [19:50] instead of syncing with moblin thet will pull from Mer [19:51] lbt, well if i was you i would try to get hold of lool or ogra for more details [19:51] willdo, lool was helping me out the other day on cross-compiling but we didn't discuss the MID/Mer thing... [19:52] and persia is normally around too..i was not @ UDS so i could be talking out of my hat [19:52] i think if they said that they were going to do something they will do it [19:53] but it is all hands on deck with bugs and stuff for the release at the moment [19:53] :) [19:53] It's kinda hard when we've only met briefly via irc [19:54] right..the ubuntu mobile devs are really cool (and also really busy) so maybe it just slipped off their plate
