[01:24] Rocket2DMn: hi [01:36] hi everyone === ShadowChild is now known as lukjad007 [18:23] hi everyone [20:39] starcraftman: hi, how are you [20:47] lo dhillon-v101 [20:47] starcraftman: how is it going [20:47] I'm ok guess, just got on a bit ago. Practicing my typing today, gotta keep up to scratch. Especially since I seem to be fixing documentation mostly, involves lots of word typing... [20:48] dhillon-v101: using gtypist, nifty little ncurses program that runs in a console, in the repos. Even got dvorak lessons for those inclined. [20:49] starcraftman: I might have told you before that I wanted to get ubuntu membership, I have noticed that there are some people here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Membership/RegionalBoards/Americas who haven't made that significant contribution but are still applying, so do you think comparing my profile to their I stand a chance [20:54] dhillon-v101: I've only sat in on a few meetings of the board, all I can say is that imo its better to have more than less. If you want examples of people recently approved by the regional board, I'd look at the page history of the entry and then cross reference recent applicants with those who were added to the lp ubuntu member team. [20:55] dhillon-v101: on wiki.ubuntu pagehistory is the info button at top, next to edit. Wish it were a bit more obvious. [20:55] thanks, what is imo [20:56] dhillon-v101: in my opinion. [20:56] so do you think I should try [20:56] where's your page again? [20:58] https://launchpad.net/~dhillon-v10 [21:02] dhillon-v101: your wiki.ubuntu.com page I meant. That's where ya should list all your contributions. lp, just shows what teams your in. [21:02] wiki.ubuntu.com/dhillonv [21:04] hey why is my username being changed over and over [21:05] dhillon-v103: i dunno did ya use the nick command? [21:05] no i didn't [21:06] dhillon-v103: as to applying, I think you should wait a bit, I don't consider myself an expert though on applying for membership. I'd suggest ya restructure your contributions to be more of a list type thing, makes it tidier for when members glance over it. [21:07] dhillon-v103: for example, see how I listed contributions > https://wiki.ubuntu.com/starcraft.man [21:08] dhillon-v103: also, I'd strongly encourage ya to get testimonials from members who've worked with you in teams or who are leads in teams you work. Testimonials make it much easier to go through the process. [21:08] starcraftman: alright, that's a good example I will do so really soon [21:09] dhillon-v103: feel free to click edit and borrow some of the code if ya like, just don't apply changes. [21:09] dhillon-v103: unless I made a typo or something... [21:09] starcraftman: I will :) thanks and talk to you later [21:09] dhillon-v103: later === lukjadOO7 is now known as lukjad007
