joshI'm having an issue related to focus running XFCE4, and mplayer. When mplayer is started from mythtv frontend, the mplayer window isnt raised or given focus. How can I fix this?02:53

duffrecordsI recently had to revert back to Ubuntu 8.04, which means I need to compile the cx18 driver for my Hauppauge HVR-1600.  I didn't have trouble doing this the last time I used Hardy, but this time it tells me I don't have the full kernel sources installed (even though I have the linux-headers package installed)18:16
MythbuntuGuest17I have a really quick question. I have almost everthing working except I only have one channel working. When I change the channel to any other channel except channel 2, all i get is a black screen18:34
MythbuntuGuest17any ideas18:34

=== Mazga is now known as _Mazga
MythbuntuGuest17my PVR-150 handles the changing of channels and I do not have a STB, however I only get one channel20:14

duffrecordsMythbuntuGuest17: can you follow the mythbackend.log from a terminal while you're changing channels?  the log output you pasted looks like you're trying to watch a previously recorded program.21:44
duffrecordsyour question sounded like it was about live tv21:45
MythbuntuGuest17yes that is correct21:52
MythbuntuGuest17i am trying to watch live tv21:52
MythbuntuGuest17I tried a couple of other things and my new log is at /f5a3531f621:53
MythbuntuGuest17i'll try now to follow the log doing tail -f21:55
MythbuntuGuest17hmmm, now i cant even see the channel :(21:57
tgm4883MythbuntuGuest17, looks like you need to repair your DB, I don't have the commands on me to do that though (at work)22:01
tgm4883MythbuntuGuest17, there is a perl script to do it, you can also do it from mythweb is you go to http://BACKENDIP/mythweb/settings/database22:02
rhpot1991you can also run optimize_mythdb.pl22:03
rhpot1991which lives in /usr/share/doc/mythtv-backend/contrib22:03
rhpot1991mythweb is easier22:03
MythbuntuGuest17ok thanks!22:05
MythbuntuGuest17I'll give it a whirl22:05
MythbuntuGuest17thanks for your repsonses, i have been in here for about 6 hours :)22:11
duffrecordshow about this one?  when compiling the v4l-dvb drivers, I keep getting the following message, even though I have the kernel source installed:22:13
duffrecords***WARNING:*** You do not have the full kernel sources installed.22:13
duffrecordsThis does not prevent you from building the v4l-dvb tree if you have the22:13
duffrecordskernel headers, but the full kernel source may be required in order to use22:13
duffrecordsmake menuconfig / xconfig / qconfig.22:13
duffrecordsI'm only interested in the cx18 driver, so I was wondering if it's possible to only compile that22:24
cr3how can I preseed ubiquity/text/master_be_fe in mythbuntu for karmic?22:29
MythbuntuGuest17I am not able to connect to mythweb for some reason, can i repair the DB with mythbuntu control center?22:35
squidlyI'm trying to get the .22 release for mythtv installed on my box22:36
gbuttersMythbuntuGuest17: yes22:36
squidlybut when I do an apt-cache policy mythtv-backend I only see .2122:37
MythbuntuGuest17gbutters, thanks22:38
cr3nevermind, mythbuntu/install_type22:38
squidlyhow do I get the .22 builds enabled?22:41
MythbuntuGuest17after trying to fix the db its telling me "No config found22:43
MythbuntuGuest17I also tryied to run /usr/share/doc/mythtv-backend/contrib/optimeze_mythdb.pl22:43
MythbuntuGuest17It gives me the error "No config found; attempting to find mythbackend via UPnp. No backends found. PLease copy /home/>user>/.mythtv/config.xml from a working installation instead."22:45
superm1cr3, be careful if you are trying to preseed a network/alternate install. i wouldn't expect it to work as expected22:50
superm1if you are preseeding a ubiquity install it should be fine22:50
cr3superm1: thanks for the warning, this is the value I ended up preseeding: ubiquity mythbuntu/install_type string Master Backend/Frontend22:52
cr3now I'm trying to figure out how to preseed ubiquity/install/services, but I'm quickly running out of time.. need to jet real soon :(22:52
superm1cr3, sounds as though it should be sane.  if you a fully scriptable example seed, look at wubi22:52
superm1it's in the wubi source tree22:52
cr3superm1: oh man, thanks!22:52
superm1cr3, no prob.  probably should have documented it's existence somewhere better :)22:53
cr3superm1: I guess it's been especially rough for the ubiquity folks with special cases on a per flavour basis22:53
gbutterssquidly: which mythbuntu version are you running22:53
superm1i'm not sure what happens though if you have an nvidia card if you can preseed that page still22:53
squidlygbutters: my backend is an ubuntu 9.04 amd6422:53
superm1cr3, well i've tried to reduce as much delta as possible for ubiquity stuff22:54
squidlyI installed the mythbunt repos as said on the webpage22:54
superm1eventually (hopefully LL) will have it as a plugin to ubiquity instead of a separate frontend22:54
gbutterssquidly: go to go MCC and enable trunk22:54
squidlygbutters: MCC?22:55
squidlycan I do that from command line?22:55
gbutterssquidly: mythbuntu control center22:55
squidlykk though so22:56
squidlygrr wife needs me22:56
squidlygbutters: ty I'll try that22:56
