FlannelEr... That wasn't a clear reference to *anyone* in particular.  A "drama llama" is a llama that shows up when there's dramatic situations.  Much like the awkward turtle.13:03
FlannelAt least how I understood (and responded) to Madpilot's comment.13:03
FlannelDaviey: ^^13:03
FlannelMmm, seems urban dictionary disagrees13:05
FlannelActually, it seems that it conflicts with itself, both agreeing and disagreeing.13:06

ubottuTo replicate your packages selection on another machine (or restore it if re-installing), you can type « aptitude  --display-format '%p' search '?installed!?automatic' > ~/my-packages », move the file "my-packages" to the other machine, and there type « sudo xargs aptitude --schedule-only install < my-packages ; sudo aptitude install » - See also !automate17:46
tonyyarussoHey jrib - why does that use complicated aptitude stuff instead of just 'dpkg --get-selections' / 'dpkg --set-selections' ?17:47
Picitonyyarusso: I believe  that there was an issue with --get-slections not working on all supported versions of Ubuntu.  I could grep my logs for more, but thats what I remember from memory17:48
tonyyarussoPici: Interesting...  That would explain it, although I'd like to see background on that.  Could be that the one it didn't work on is EOL now.17:49
Piciplus perhaps retaining packages set as manually installed or not, I don't think using dpkg  would keep that meta-information17:51

Flanneltonyyarusso, Pici: the prblem with get selections is that it doesn't keep the "you installed this" vs "this was installed as a dependency" information19:48
PiciFlannel: Yeah, dunno if my second message was lost or not, but thats what I was talking about by meta-information19:56
FlannelYeah19:56
PiciI lost my local internet connection as I wrote it19:57
FlannelDoes the aptitude thing work now?  I know last time we made that change it ended up not working for 80% of the people or something20:14
