=== Turl1 is now known as Turl === Ng_ is now known as Ng [15:21] newz2000, thanks :) [15:22] emmajane: happy to help ;-) [15:22] We have a term for it, "bike shedding," and it's one of Canonical staff's favourite past times [15:22] newz2000, I know the term. :) [15:24] newz2000, My first core patch for drupal proposed this as the front page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/emmajane/3586458575/ [15:24] hah! [15:25] surprisingly people couldn't decide what colour to paint it. ;) [15:43] newz2000, have you seen: http://nicksergeant.com/blog/everything-else/event-apart-boston-2009-recap ? I'm sure there are others as well but this is the first one I've bothered to read. Not sure if you've been to any of the Event Apart conferences? [15:47] no, not read that nor been to one of those events [15:47] * newz2000 looks [15:51] it's got some fantastic one-liner quotes. [15:52] "Risk adverse companies produce crap" [15:53] "Why'd you create Comic Sans? — 'beacuse sometimes it's better than Times New Roman.'" [15:54] also: "There's like 50 letters in the alphabet, or something" [15:54] hah. I've said stuff like that before. [15:55] presenting is hard. You forget everything when there are a hundred people staring at you. :-) [15:56] :) [23:39] Hey newz2000. I'm sorry to bother you again, but it seems that SpreadUbuntu still has yet to get any sort of further response at RT. I'd be more patient, but without any sort of status feedback, I feel like its been a forgotten issue. [23:40] AliTabuger7_, as i've been told, IS is "very busy" and we have waited on several issues over a year now. [23:40] Ok. Thanks. I had no idea the kind of timeframe it would be. [23:41] i hope you will get better response. [23:42] even if our tickets are an annoyance, nothing depends on them so it's somehow acceptable it takes so long. [23:44] Yeah, that is kind of a long time. I was hoping to get the domain before Karmic. [23:45] mmh. [23:45] i suppose that has a bit bigger priority. [23:46] we only want both the xubuntu domains (.org & .com) point to same place and that subdomains (whatever.xubuntu.org) would rather show our default page than an apache directory listing. [23:46] the funny thing is that we would have fixed this thing for hundreds of times if we only had the rights to do it. [23:49] If the domain is going to your server, is there really a technical reason why you can't create subdomains? [23:49] the reason is that we have no administratory rights to do that. [23:49] IS must handle it. [23:50] i don't know the details on where the server is etc., but this is the situation.
