DavieyHi, is the /current karmic netboot installer working?20:42
Davieyvmlinuz-2.6.31-100-imx5120:42
Martyn-netboot?  No20:46
Martyn-not on arm anyway20:46
DavieyMartyn-: hmm.. there isn't an arm netboot since jaunty then?20:47
Martyn-I wasn't aware that even jaunty had a working net-install20:47
Martyn-netboot, yes20:47
Martyn-net install?  no.20:47
Davieymy bad, i mean't netboot20:48
DavieyI can't get the karmic vmlinuz-2.6.31-203-dove or vmlinuz-2.6.31-100-imx51 working..20:49
DavieyWhat should the -M be?20:49
Davieyfor qemu :)20:49
Martyn-dunno20:51
Martyn-I have real hardware :)20:51
Martyn-for even Cortex-A9 :)20:51
Davieylucky :)20:51
DavieyMartyn-: would you be really kind, and give me the output of dpkg-architecture on an armel box?20:54
Daviey(or anyone else for that matter)20:54
Martyn-can't at the moment .. I'm at home, not at work :)21:00
Martyn-sigh21:00
Martyn-wait, I might be able to VPN in if you're patient21:00
DavieyMartyn-: nah, don't worry. but thanks anyway.21:01
Davieynot that i'm being impatient, i just don't want you to go to extra effort :)21:02
ali1234i did a net install on armel... it didn't work, but i  think only cos the box didn't have enough ram21:13
ali1234it got quite far before it crashed21:13
ali1234Daviey: there is a rootfs building script for armel which uses qemu heavily, perhaps it will provide some hints for you? link is in topic21:15
Davieyali1234: i'll check it out, but it seems the kernel for karmic isn't working for some reason.. There isn't a versatile one, only dove and imx51, and neither of these seems to work with qemu :(21:19
ali1234build your own then :)21:19
ali1234i've only tested with jaunty anyway, and i think that's what the rootfs script uses also21:20
ali1234but it doesn't seem too picky about kernel. i used a random 2.6.25 and it mostly worked21:20
Davieyhmm.. ok thanks ali123421:21
