[00:09] updates came its working now [00:25] is jamu and ttvdb much the same? [14:39] I have a POV ION 330 with Realtek ALC662 sound, and Mythbuntu 9.04 and I have no sound, someone have tips ? [18:35] hipitihop: No sound in mythtv or throughout the entire system? [18:36] oobe: No, Jamu runs as a Cron Job and takes advantage of ttvdb to update all the videos in your database with metadata [20:46] This may sound odd, but can a TV Antenna be damaged so it won't pick up a channel? [20:56] tgm4883: sure why not [21:00] * tgm4883 shrugs [21:00] I mean the antenna, not the tuner [21:00] I wonder if thats why I can't pick up NBC on my antenna [21:01] according to antennaweb, it's the same distance as the rest of them [21:01] and I can pick up all except NBC [21:04] tgm4883: same type though? [21:05] different antenas are needed for different broadcasts [21:05] both digital [21:05] the whole color thing [21:05] oh, yea all the same type on that site [21:23] <_ben> mmm, no new builds for karmic? [22:40] Hi... I'm trying to install mythbuntu on this PC... I've been wrangling with a "chassis intruded" error, but I *think* that's solved now. [22:41] So, next question is, partitioning... for regular systems, I like to have a distinct physical partition for the system vs. the user data. This allows me to reinstall the system all day long without having to worry about user data, etc. [22:43] On my laptop, which sadly only has 60GB of disk, I have the / set to 5GB, and /home to 10GB, and the remainder (besides swap, etc) on a "bulk data" partition for data I can reload from physical media if need be (music, etc) so I only have to back up critical user data from /home. [22:44] What's a reasonable system (/) size for mythbuntu? [22:44] 5-10GB [22:47] where does the media data usually live? [22:47] E.g. should I just make /home the big partition? [22:48] /var/lib/mythtv [22:50] Thanks.\ [22:53] "The installer encountered an error copying files to the hard disk: [Errno 5] Input/output error. [22:55] Dangit. [23:00] I'd swear I already did burn the install on the lowest speed, but all the google hits are basically either hapless or finally got results by re-burning the install CD at slowest possible speed. [23:07] puff have you tried a memtest? [23:08] I had that kind of problem during an os install ... would always fail at the same point, it was memory [23:49] The Mythbuntu website is in need of assistance. It generating MySql errors when I try to get the MD5SUMS or the torrent file.
