lightpriesthello, I wrote a new grabber for Israel. that is tv_grab_il00:29
lightpriestwhat should I do so it would be included in the xmltv package?00:29
superm1submit it upstream to xmltv first00:30
superm1and then request that a new version be pulled in via a bug on launchpad (bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xmltv)00:30
lightpriestohh ok00:30
lightpriesti'm kinda new to this... upstream means the original project?00:31
superm1upstream means the xmltv project, yes00:31
superm1they've probably got a mailing list or bug tracker for these kinds of thigns00:31
lightpriestok thanks00:32
superm1by doing it this way, we don't get into an unmaintainable mode where we have to constantly patch their code, it's better if it's part of that code :)00:32
lightpriestyeah, i guess that's be a headache :)00:34
lightpriestthat would00:34
Essobimishehu: :)02:07
mishehusuperm1: how's it going man?  moved over to the hill country a few weeks ago02:25
hondoSevere weather is the only option I am offered in myth weather set up of Jaunty. This saddens me,02:28
hondo.02:28
Essobimishehu: Yea, I play with it a bit..02:44
Essobimishehu: got a few crapture cards02:45
rwlovegot a sound problem03:37
rwloveI think it's distro related because it was working before an update (I believe the update was the problem, can't say for sure)03:38
rwloveI've exhaused the ALSA channel03:38
rwloveanyone got a good grip on sound in mythbuntu?03:38
tyabuxI have two questions: first; I'm using an analog tvtuner card. It works perfectly with tvtime. Should I expect to have no problems with myth? Second; I have a 2.9GHz Pentium4. It has 2GB RAM. Would it be suitable for a myth backend?13:21
womboyes, yes13:44
wombomythtv supports any tuners supported by linux13:44
tyabuxand the hardware should be sufficient?14:06
_benShould be fine14:09
tyabuxnice.14:09
_benwhat video card do you have out of interest?14:09
feddeanyone have some ideea why using a 2lnb setup ends up with 4 cardinputs in the sql14:22
EssobiMorning.14:53
tyabux_ben, I'm not entirely sure :)15:15
tyabux_ben, it was "Designed for Windows XP", but since then, Pinnacle has sold that division to another company that felt they didn't want to support the card anymore. And since I no longer have the driver cd and the driver can't be found anywhere on the net, it can no longer be used on Windows XP, but works straight out of the box with Ubuntu :)15:16
tyabuxI have that experience with several hardware components: Designed for Windows XP, doesn't work at all in Windows XP, but works flawlessly in Ubuntu. :)15:17
gizmobayANyone know if I can downgrade MB trunk weekly builds to a previous version?17:14

gizmobaynevermind17:40
gizmobaychanged the pvr res to 480 x 48017:40
gizmobayguess it doesn't like that17:40
namuchanyone have any advice on upgrading my stable mytbuntu 8.04 system, to a version that will support the hauppage hd-pvr?18:16
superm1namuch, you'll have to jump up to either 8.10, 9.04, or 9.1018:23
superm1any of them have trunk builds available18:23
superm1or someone will have to help get the trunk builds working on 8.04,  they currently don't build there18:23
namuchis that something that safely be done using the dist-upgrade process?18:23
namuchor, is that even posible with mythbuntu...18:24
superm1dist-upgrades are supported by mythbuntu18:24
superm1your success rate may vary of course depending on hardware, but software to software - the packages are supported18:24
namuchnot a lot of custom hardware, since i do a split front/backend setup here18:25
namuchmy frontends are all netboot off the server, so that will be annoying.  but i'm mostly worried about which version of mythtv would have to be used to have a stable hd-pvr experience18:26
namuchsince, from what i've seen, it's mostly trunk that supports the hd-pvr, but i've had bad experiences with trunk in the past18:26
superm1well 0.22 is around the corner in a few weeks, so just sit tight then18:35
namuchyou think .22 will be out that soon?  seem like it's been an eternity...18:43
superm1well upstream is in feature freeze mode18:44
superm1and has been for nearly a month now18:44
superm1the tickets are whittling down18:44
mazda01i have file called sqlAWDgzx that's located in my / folder. when i look at it it says this on the first line, "The system tables of MySQL Server" can I delete it?20:40
