hyperairmeh. i can't change the acceleration of my mouse. why's that?07:47
petskihey guys, yesterday I've upgraded to Karmic Beta, which resulted in a really slow desktop. Xorg takes 100 CPU, so my system is hardly usable. It seems like the issue is related to LP 399782, but not much information there. what can I do to help debugging the cause?11:06
ubottuLaunchpad bug 399782 in xorg-server "[karmic] High CPU use on Acer Aspire 4530" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/39978211:06
petski_Hmm, it doesn't like me doing a strace on the xorg pid :) ..11:17
Rocket2DMnhey guys, I'm looking at bug 42122116:51
ubottuLaunchpad bug 421221 in gedit "menu entry says 'gedit' should say 'Text Editor'" [Low,Fix released] https://launchpad.net/bugs/42122116:51
Rocket2DMnthe naming in Karmic currentely is "gedit Text Editor" in the menu entry, which affects ubuntu-docs16:52
Rocket2DMnIt sounds like there is still discussion upstream - are we sticking with the current name in Karmic, or do you think it will be adjusted again?16:52

hyperairis nautilus supposed to show my LVM physical volume even when all its logical volumes are mounted?18:04
hyperairseems rather annoying to me18:04
chrisccoulsonhyperair - that seems to happen not just for LVM volumes20:39
chrisccoulsonif i mount all mounts on a particular drive, then i end up with a useless icon for the physical drive, which does nothing20:39
hyperairoh is that so?20:40
hyperairhmm i don't get that20:40
hyperairmy /dev/sda has a /dev/sda1->/boot and /dev/sda2->cryptsetup->LVM->mounted stuff20:40
hyperairbut i don't get a useless /dev/sda icon20:40
chrisccoulsonah20:42
chrisccoulsonit might be because my "physical drive" is part of a raid array20:42
chrisccoulsoni forgot that bit ;)20:42
chrisccoulsonbut its basically the same issue as you20:42
hyperairhahah i see20:47
hyperairbasically gdu's missing out some cases..20:47
hyperairi didn't notice this issue before though20:47
hyperairmaybe it's because my previous /dev/sda2 was detected as both ext3 and luks20:48
hyperairgod knows how that happened =.=20:48
hyperairi mean, fine, it was formatted as ext3 prior to me luksFormatting it20:49
chrisccoulsonhyperair - in my case, dk-disks exposes one of the raw disks which make up my array21:23
chrisccoulsonmclasen - have you seen this issue before (with gtk 2.18.1): bug 441905 ?22:53
ubottuLaunchpad bug 441905 in ubuntu-meta "[Karmic] strange behaivor by clicking buttons" [Undecided,Invalid] https://launchpad.net/bugs/44190522:53
chrisccoulsonbasically, it's no longer possible to click a button twice, without first moving the mouse cursor22:54
mclasenyes, I've seen that23:05
chrisccoulsonmclasen - thanks. do you know which commit broke it (just in case i don't need to spend time bisecting it)?23:07
mclasenno, I don't. did this break between 2.18.0 and 2.18.1 ?23:17
chrisccoulsonmclasen - i'm pretty sure it did. i only noticed the issue for the last couple of days, and we updated to 2.18.1 on 2/1023:17
mclasenbisecting it would be greatly appreciated23:18
chrisccoulsonok, no problem. i'll see how far i can tonight23:18
chrisccoulsons/can/can get23:19
mclasenthanks23:19
