[07:58] morning all === akgraner_ is now known as akgraner === pleia2_ is now known as pleia2 [14:31] morning mdke [14:58] hiya [14:59] who of you is interested in Packaging Docs and has been participating in the discussions there already? [14:59] hello [17:23] dholbach: I have started work on editing the Complete Packaging Guide on the wiki. [17:31] missaugustina: yeah, I saw it - great work - let's talk about it on the list :) [17:31] I'm on the phone right now, which is why I didn't directly reply [17:31] dholbach: no problem. Nathan is currently reviewing it and offering feedback for me. [17:31] :-) [17:31] cool [17:32] I don't know anything about packaging in ubuntu ;) So I was starting from scratch [17:32] I worked as a Release Engineer for about 8 months for InDesign, so I have some experience with packaging [17:33] Nathan's feedback has been great. I mainly want to make sure the information is accurate and consistent with how you actually do things. [17:49] cool [17:49] I appreciate your good work on this! [17:51] missaugustina: maybe you send another mail to the packaging-docs list about your work so we can all have a chat about it? [17:51] dholbach: no problem! Packaging is a really great way to get folks involved with Ubuntu and currently it's pretty difficult to get started. [17:51] Yeah I can do that :) [17:52] packaging is the bread and butter of Ubuntu - even if you just want to work on small fixes, you have to know a bit about it [17:52] so any way in which we can speed up things is going to be great [17:52] I have a bunch of others ideas already and it's great to have a forum for that now [17:52] and some motivated people! :) [17:52] I'm glad you put together the list, I felt like I was fumbling around in the dark ;) [17:53] I really like writing and helping people that way (hence why I'm on the doc team) [17:53] I'll try to get some more people involved in this as I feel there's more and more demands [17:53] I will put together an email describing what I've been working on and send it out today :) [17:53] like upstream people that just want to know about our release schedule and how to "push the right buttons to get something done" [17:53] or people who packaged something in a PPA and want to get it in Ubuntu now [17:53] cool [17:53] thanks a bunch [17:54] I'll call it a day now and have a quick dinner and take the dog out :) [17:54] have a great day [17:56] you too! [19:05] just start reading up on the doc team on wiki? [19:05] bbl === zach is now known as Guest13430 === nhandler_ is now known as nhandler
