[03:04] * JontheEchidna is listening to Take The Time by Dream Theater on Images And Words [Amarok2] [03:58] ScottK: you forgot to do "bzr add kubuntu_81_revert_scrollwidget.diff" in bzr, I just say for reminder you :) [04:34] lex79: I did add it, I thought [04:34] Maybe the push didn't go [04:35] lex79: bzr claims no new revisions to push [04:39] weird, there is no patch in this revision: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~kubuntu-members/kdelibs/ubuntu/revision/124 [04:42] OK. I'll investigate [04:42] I know. [04:42] bzr add [04:42] okay :) [04:44] OK, give it a few minutes and try 125 [04:46] ScottK: perfect, kubuntu_81 is in bzr now [04:48] lex79: Thanks for checking [04:48] no problem === highvolt1ge is now known as highvoltage [07:41] Hi! Is it known bug that bluetooth in karmic is completely broken? [07:41] see my bug here https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bluez/+bug/453885 [07:41] Launchpad bug 453885 in bluez "bluetooth in karmic is nonfunctional" [Undecided,New] [07:42] in short adapter is detected ok, but doesn't function [07:42] but it works in jaunty and WinXP [09:57] Riddell, good morning. Just a quick note to let you know I've just imported the kdepim-runtime translations -> https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu/karmic/+source/kdepim-runtime/+imports. They should be in Launchpad soon. === Squt is now known as Sput [10:33] dpm: super === agateau is now known as agateau|lunch [11:46] ArneGoetje: translations for apps from kdetoys aren't in the language packs because kdetoys is in universe. if I move it to main will they magically appear in the next language packs? [12:00] markey, Nightrose: we still seem to have adverts in our lyrics amarok plasmoid, is anything else needed besides this patch? http://paste.ubuntu.com/296753/ [12:01] Riddell: hmmm that should be all - are you maybe seeing cached lyrics? [12:03] Nightrose: that could be it [12:04] Nightrose: my under-listened to Johnny Cash collections seems not to have the adverts so it must be cached [12:04] hehe [12:04] ok [12:05] you should be able to make it refeetch with the green arrow at the top of the applet [12:05] -e [12:06] Riddell: would you have a look at bug #455358 again, something went wrong with the patch last time. [12:06] Launchpad bug 455358 in launchpad "wrong patch "fix_gnome_file_dialog.diff" in kid3 package" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/455358 [12:08] neversfelde: ok [12:12] hi there [12:13] buenos dias doc___ [12:14] Riddell: hola :) [12:27] nobody able to test k3b? [12:28] Riddell: jaunty or karmic? [12:31] Riddell: alt just got added to the tracker so I can test it now for you if you want? [12:39] jussi01: karmic [12:39] davmor2: it's new packages not in the archive [12:39] Ah okay :) [12:39] http://kubuntu.org/~jriddell/tmp/k3b/ [12:40] Riddell: whats different in it, what has been fixed? [12:43] jussi01: it burns stuff ;) [12:43] hehe [12:43] ok === agateau|lunch is now known as agateau [13:36] Riddell, re: your question earlier on kdetoys and language packs: yes, translations will magically appear in langpacks once the package is promoted to main (assuming it creates a POT template on build -> https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/Internationalisation#Language%20Packs) [13:38] dpm: see e-mail for further questions :) [13:38] Riddell, ok :) [13:43] JontheEchidna: your blog is the spammed [13:43] like really [13:43] you should probably clean up [13:44] blaa [13:44] thanks [13:44] np [13:47] grr, I already cleaned that post... why are there more? [13:51] dpm: is there a sensible way to diff .po files? [13:51] diff -u isn't much use [13:51] but there must be a gettext commend to find out what strings are in one and aren't in another and what translations are different [13:57] Riddell: for some reason kubuntu.mk is deleting .cpp files from darkroom: https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/darkroom/1.3+svn-26122008-0ubuntu5/+build/1056153 [13:58] I've not been able to narrow it down any further, but un-including kubuntu.mk from kde.mk works around the FTBFS [13:58] * JontheEchidna will file a bug report so that this does not get lost [14:00] JontheEchidna: hmm, that's strange, I'll take a look in a bit [14:01] yeah, nothing looks obviously wrong in kubuntu.mk. perhaps it's a corner case [14:01] bug 455432 [14:01] Launchpad bug 455432 in pkg-kde-tools "kubuntu.mk deletes .cpp files from darkroom source, causing FTBFS" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/455432 [14:01] JontheEchidna: it's probably something wrong in the Messages.sh file [14:02] it probably has a rm -r *cpp rather than rm -r rc.cpp or something [14:02] Riddell: what should I test? [14:02] the package lacks a messages.sh [14:03] Mamarok: whether you can burn a CD and do other k3b things with these packages http://kubuntu.org/~jriddell/tmp/k3b/ [14:03] * Mamarok tries [14:04] JontheEchidna: http://paste.ubuntu.com/296829/ [14:04] oh wait, that's backwards [14:04] well, you get the idea [14:07] Riddell: worng architecture, sorry [14:07] wrong* [14:08] fooey, let me put it into a PPA [14:10] if someone has a little time, I filed a nice easy bug just before (bug #455305) should be a simple fix IMHO, but as IM at work.... [14:10] Launchpad bug 455305 in skrooge "There is no documentation available for skrooge" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/455305 [14:14] Riddell: just ping me when you get 64bit packages ready :) [14:29] Riddell, there is no direct way to do it with gettext, AFAIK. In the past, when I've tried to do this I've used 'msgexec 0' (http://www.gnu.org/software/gettext/manual/gettext.html#msgexec-Invocation), but there have been several attempts to create external podiff tools. There is one here, but I haven't tried it -> https://edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu-translator-tools/stable/0.1 [14:30] or perhaps at the translation project they might have something, let me have a look... [14:31] seems fairly important in doing translation QA, "how do our translations differ from upstream" is something that should be easy to check [14:34] Riddell, hmm, can't find anything at the translate toolkit site. I agree. You can do that already in Launchpad, but only on a per-template basis using the "changed in Launchpad" filter. I believe the LP Translations guys will be working in fixing the bug whereby you can see this per language, which should be much more useful [14:36] dpm: I need to check before launchpad since it might have been broken at the packaging stage [14:38] Riddell, I see. Then you can perhaps try one of the suggestions above [14:47] dpm: for a priority-translations list you want that by template name or by source package? [14:48] Riddell, in the case of Kubuntu, better to have both, if possible (srcpkg/templatename) [14:53] Riddell, also, when you've got some time, could you please add a few words of how the X-Ubuntu-Gettext domain gets added to the Kubuntu .desktop files here -> https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/Internationalisation#Desktop%20Entries? I'd be interested to know how this gets added to the files (is it a script which does it normally?, is it a CDBS rule in those packages using it?, etc). Just a few hints will do, so that at least I can investigate [14:53] the rest myself. === fenris__ is now known as ejat [15:11] dpm: "Also note that X-GNOME-Gettext-Domain used to be called X-Ubuntu-Gettext-Domain in the past." what's with that change? [15:14] dpm: it doesn't seem to be true, transmission and nautilus both use X-ubuntu [15:17] Riddell, pitti told me about this. Apparently ony we were using this initially, and although it hasn't been accepted at fd.o upstream, at least OpenSuse started using the same method, so it is now recommended to use a more distro-agnostic nomenclature (X-GNOME in the case of GNOME). That's the reason behind it. Now the langpack.mk CDBS rule still adds the X-Ubuntu- key, but pitti fixed this in bzr last week to add X-GNOME- instead. In the case of glib [15:17] this shouldn't be a problem, since it tries to load either of the keys [15:18] dpm: but now we have a desktop specific key for something which has no reason to be desktop specific [15:20] Riddell, that's a good argument. I didn't know how the Kubuntu .desktop files were dealt with. The best person to speak to is pitti, though. [15:28] Mamarok: k3b now in my PPA "deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/jr/ppa/ubuntu karmic main " [16:27] hmm [16:28] Plasma crashes a lot here with latest Karmic updates [16:28] not sure why, should look a the backtrace next time [16:30] dpm: https://wiki.kubuntu.org/UbuntuDevelopment/Internationalisation#Desktop%20Entries updated. X-GNOME isn't used so I fixed that and added in info for KDE stuff, there's some Gnome bits to be filled in [16:31] Riddell, thanks a lot, I also followed the conversation on #ubuntu-devel [16:31] markey: hmm, the only recent change is ScottK's fix for the netbook launcher [16:32] IIRC the fix I reverted to fix netbook was just a performance fix. [16:32] Riddell: here it often crashes e.g. when starting amarok [16:33] but anyway, next time I'll save a backtrace [16:33] hmm [16:33] this reminds me [16:33] it's bit of a pity that ubuntu doesn't dump core by default [16:34] though I know it's configurable [16:34] I haven't gotten around to do it [16:35] * Mamarok has not had any plasma crashes so far [16:35] I got a "non-wake-up-from-screensaver" crash, that's it [16:35] but that could well by my ACPI settings here [16:36] Plasma... we have to convince Aaron somehow to go multi-process [16:36] this single process design isn't great [16:36] it'll never be fully stable [16:36] one app shouldn't bring down the whole shell [16:37] http://packages.ubuntu.com/ [16:37] is down [16:37] anyone knows what happended [16:37] ? [16:37] -ed [16:57] Riddell: ktorrent, if you want upload, https://edge.launchpad.net/~alessandro-ghersi/+archive/staging/+packages [17:05] Mamarok: did you try k3b? [17:07] I was up to, but had some IRC support going on, moment [17:07] Should questions regarding kubuntu-netbook-edition go here or in #ubuntu+1? [17:09] zorael: depends if it's about something developers care about :) [17:20] Riddell: ripping works, testing CD burning now [17:31] Mamarok: great, thanks [17:32] this upload will add translations for a bunch of languages so that should keep apachelogger in a good mood [17:37] Riddell: burning went well, too, so everythink OK from my POV [19:21] oy vey [19:54] Hey Riddell what did you do to break the installer ;) [20:01] davmor2: sat on it? [20:06] Tm_T: :D no cookies for you [20:07] davmor2: I've heard [20:31] Riddell: thanks for uploading kid3. Unfortunately fix_gnome_file_dialog.diff is now in the debian dir and in debian/patches. I think it is not worth another upload? I can keep an eye on it for lucid and remove it during merge or whatever happens first. [20:53] :/ ibus or ibus-anthy broken :/ [20:53] neversfelde: but the package built? [20:54] davmor2: installer works for me, what's the issue? [20:55] Riddell: straight installs work fine try formating a partition in manual or try moving the slider on auto resize :) [20:56] Riddell: yes [21:13] Riddell: twitter patch needs updating (one-liner): http://websvn.kde.org/?view=rev&revision=1036051 [21:20] I uploaded kdebase-workspace with a patch to make brightness fn keys working (when they aren't handled by the hardware) to my ppa: https://launchpad.net/~debfx/+archive/ppa/+sourcepub/771195/+listing-archive-extra [21:22] could someone whoes fn keys already work test it to make sure it doesn't double increase/decrease the brightness? [21:50] meh Riddell no checkboxes work in Kubuntu just tried twitter through Konqueror fail with the checkbox to remember password :( === flacoste is now known as flacoste_afk [22:58] yay, usb creator works [22:59] kpackagekit 0.5 was released, unfortunately it requires libpackagekit > 0.5.3 :( [23:00] which requires policykit 1 which requires some future version of KDE [23:00] perfect :) [23:04] Riddell: cool [23:08] JontheEchidna: twitter patch updated [23:09] davmor2: formatting a partition on manual worked for me with today's CD [23:09] davmor2: and tickboxes work fine too [23:10] Failed on both 32 and 64 bit here. But alternate is fine [23:11] davmor2: how about ubuntu desktop? [23:11] haven't looked at it only been doing Kubuntu :) [23:12] you love us too much [23:12] Riddell: only oem on 64bit alt left [23:13] oh and wubi which is guaranteed to fail as cj hasn't finished looking at it to fix it but I might have a quick look tomorrow and see [23:14] Riddell: ara started on Ubuntu so I took Kubuntu it saved reproducing tests [23:17] debfx: dood! brightness bling! [23:18] debfx: working great for me
