* pwnguin just realized there's no c in persia's name01:44
pwnguinnow it makes a lot more sense why he's in .jp01:44
persiaActually, the two are completely unrelated (although it does make transliteration easier)01:45

eggonleadoes any body use ZSYNC to download 9.10? It reports 302 error. Seems ubuntu.com changed the file location and zsync cannot deal with http redirection.09:21
eggonleaI could use zsync for 9.10 alpha, beta and rc.09:22
eggonleabut failed on this final one.09:22
eggonlea[answer my own question] just use redirected cdn.release instead of the release server. :P09:27
ogranote that the servers are under heavy load during the first 10 days after release usually09:30
eggonlea/nod09:31
eggonleahope all are using bt or zsync instead of downloading .iso/.img directly with multithread sw09:32

kblinoh well, I'm giving up for now. ARM hardware doesn't seem to be quite ready for prime-time yet14:48
kblincan't build products on systems that decide to sometimes do the right thing14:50

suihkulokkikblin: you are aware that how well usb works on beagleboard is not representantive of how all other arm works with usb?15:08
kblinsuihkulokki: yeah, I tried a shevaplug as well15:08
kblinthat was even worse :)15:10
suihkulokkikblin: hmm? apart for the bootloader not supporting usb, usb has been solid for me on sheeva15:11
kblindoes IPv6 work for you?15:11
kblinno, the sheeva had other issues15:12
kblinnot the least dying on me after two weeks15:12
kblinand the globalscale support really sucks, especially if you're outside the US15:12
suihkulokkihaven't had a ipv6 setup for a while15:14
kblinthe default kernel shipped with the sheeva claims to support ipv6, but is missing the kernel module15:15
kblinwhich severly screws up applications that try to support ipv615:16
kblinI didn't get around to try a custom kernel, as my plug died before I could test15:18
tordnehi, i'm getting the mobile phone toshiba TG01, with a snapdragon processor16:06
tordneI want to install ubuntu on the phone, but i can't seem to find what to install on it.16:08
tordnethe snapdragon is based on ARM that is why I ended up here16:09
tordnecan someone tell me if I can install ubuntu-arm on the phone16:09
tordnethanks16:09
kblinunfortunately there's much more variety between ARMs than between x86-based chips16:10
kblinhard to give definite answers there16:11
ojntordne: after a lot of work messing around with all sorts of stuff, you would in the end have a phone that you can't make calls with. Is that really what you want?16:13
tordne@ojn: yes16:14
tordne@no :-D16:14
kblinsee, that's why open source is great16:15
kblinit's all about choice.. even if the choice is shooting yourself in the foot16:15
tordneI don16:15
ojnLinux is free only if your time has no value... :)16:15
tordne@ojn: no I wouldn't mind to mess up the phone16:16
tordne@ojn: but i like linux, and can program a bit... maybe this is a start for me to realize something16:17
tordne@ojn: I think I found something better "Mer linux"16:40
BeardedChimpOnce I've created a tarball from the rootfsfromscratch, how do I install that to an sd card such that it is bootable? I tried just creating a big ext2 filesystem and extracting inside it but the arm board seemingly didn't boot from it16:41
BeardedChimp(I had already figured that it wouldnt work but gave it a shot anyway)16:42
ojnBeardedChimp: It depends on your board. Some firmware expects to read the kernel (or even the firmware itself) from a FAT partition at the beginning of the media. It's more of a board than a distro question16:43
BeardedChimpI have an image of their edge install floating about, I'm guessing I could work it out by having a peak inside?16:45
ojnprobably, yes16:45
BeardedChimphttp://pastebin.com/m2e5b4365 I think this is the relevant bit from the docs, bit beyond me at the minute16:50
armin76BeardedChimp: hope you didn't used karmic as rootfs16:53
BeardedChimpNo :)16:54
BeardedChimpI figured that would be suicide16:54
BeardedChimpThe board comes with sarge installed on it, but with support dropped for it, it aint great16:55
ojndist-upgrade to etch?16:55
BeardedChimptbh im looking for >.27 kernel16:56
BeardedChimpWhich is why I went for ubuntu16:56
