[13:32] In Jaunty I used to set my keyboard settings in /etc/default/console-setup, but it's being ignored now in Karmic, both for console and X. I need to use setxkbmap everytime I login and also everytime I switch to the console. How can I set my keyboard variant permanently now? [13:33] /etc/default/console-setup is still supposed to work afaik [13:33] maybe gdm overrides it though? [13:34] it doesn't work even for the console [13:37] no clue then, sorry [13:37] I reported Bug #359719 in jaunty about the particular variant not being available anymore (it used to exist in the UIs in Hardy), but now in karmic the situation has degraded since the workaround doesn't work anymore [13:37] Launchpad bug 359719 in xserver-xorg-input-keyboard "abnt2 keyboard layout missing thinkpad variant" [Undecided,Invalid] https://launchpad.net/bugs/359719 [13:37] should I report a new bug agains this issue? [13:38] oh hum, the weird brazilian layout.. [13:38] yes :) [13:38] so you remember [13:39] not this particular bug. just the fact that abnt2 has some weirdness with keycodes [13:40] so, what should I do now? === marjomercado is now known as marjo
