quentusrexAnyone around for some packaging advice? I'm trying to learn how to handle conffiles special... But I can't figure out how to tell the packager that these files are conffiles...00:20
micahgquentusrex: for ubuntu packaging, try #ubuntu-motu00:23
quentusrexI've asked this question in there previously...00:23
micahgquentusrex: this channel is for #launchpad issues only00:24
quentusrexok00:24
micahgquentusrex: you have to be patient sometimes00:24
quentusrex:) my package is being published through launchpad :)00:24
amogorkonhello00:51
amogorkon1stupid disconnections00:54
amogorkon1i would like to start using my bzr branch on launchpad00:54
amogorkon1i registered an SSH key as described in the tutorial00:54
amogorkon1but the bzr command (using windows XP) still doesn't recognize my launchpad login00:55
amogorkon1well, it does see that my account is there, but it says that there's no SSH key registered00:56
amogorkon1is there anything i'm missing?00:57
amogorkon1hm.. is it normal that bzr takes the crippled email address as id, not the username? - that was the problem01:00
amogorkon1:s01:00
thumperamogorkon1: still around?01:59
amogorkon1yes02:00
thumperamogorkon1: got it working yet?02:00
amogorkon1well, i got it to recognize my account, but still can't use SSH :(02:01
amogorkon1i tried installing the newest package with the bazaar explorer and pageant, but it still can't connect to launchpad02:02
thumperamogorkon1: what is your launchpad id?02:03
RenatoSilvaif I have a project X depending on a fix for Y, which in turn depends on a fix for Z, and so forth, when I report the problem, what projects are affected?02:03
amogorkon1~d-launchpad-anselm-kiefner-de02:03
RenatoSilvaI mean, one is the directly affected, but because other project uses it, it is affected too02:04
RenatoSilvaand other  project that uses the project that uses it etc....02:04
thumperamogorkon1: what do you get if you type `bzr lp-login` at a terminal?02:05
amogorkon1d-launchpad-anselm-kiefner-de02:06
thumperRenatoSilva: whatever projects you register the task against02:06
thumperamogorkon1: do you have the pageant icon in the task bar?02:06
RenatoSilvathumper: whatever affected project I've set? But that's the question, what projects are 'affected'02:07
amogorkon1yes02:07
RenatoSilvathumper: one is directly, aon two others indirectly and in cascade02:07
thumperRenatoSilva: obviously all the projects that use the code are affected, but it is up to the bug reporter to decide which to add02:07
thumperamogorkon1: have you added your private key to pageant?02:07
amogorkon1yes02:07
RenatoSilvathumper: ok I'll check all the projects then, thanks02:08
thumperamogorkon1: then it should work...02:08
thumperamogorkon1: what do you get if you go `bzr revno lp:bzr` ?02:09
amogorkon1can i paste 4 lines?02:09
thumperI think 4 would be ok :)02:10
amogorkon1http://pastebin.com/m4bcc8402:10
thumperamogorkon1: in which case, your ssh connection to LP is working02:11
thumperamogorkon1: you just talked to lp using bzr+ssh02:11
amogorkon1ok..02:11
RenatoSilvathanks all02:11
amogorkon1then i'm slightly confused02:11
amogorkon1i have no clue how i fixed it02:12
amogorkon1windows voodoo ftw02:12
thumperamogorkon1: adding the private key to pageant is needed02:12
thumperamogorkon1: it doesn't remember it02:12
amogorkon1thumper: i had that before, too, and it didn't work02:13
* thumper shrugs02:13
* amogorkon1 shrugs, too02:13
amogorkon1ok, thanks anyway :)02:13
amogorkon1ah, do i need to add the key each time i run pageant?02:14
amogorkon1or is there some convenience-settings i don't know yet?02:14
thumperamogorkon1: I haven't yet found a convenience setting02:28
thumperamogorkon1: although I don't use windows, I just know people to do02:28
amogorkon1okay02:28
amogorkon1no prob02:29
amogorkon1thanks again02:29
thumpernp02:29
ashadocathuh, whenever I try to access the branch content of this https://code.launchpad.net/~psiphon-inc/psiphon/psiphon-1.6 I get a please try again error...02:32
thumperashadocat: it appears the code browser has crapped itself again.02:36
thumperLuckily we have someone looking into fixing that02:36

RAOFWhat are the constraints on automatic translation exports to bzr in rosetta?  I'm trying to set the export for docky out to lp:docky, but it seems that I can only export to branches I (not a team) own?05:06
lifelessRAOF: team owned should be ok, but perhaps you need to be admin of the team?05:52
lifelessRAOF: you could try setting it then changing the owner to the team :)05:53
RAOFlifeless: And can it go to the same place the translation template is being extracted from?06:16
lifelessRAOF: AFAIK yes06:20
RAOFOk.  I'll try finding an admin.06:20

oly_hi, i formatted my laptop  and have made changes to my local branch i want to send those changes how ever i get Agent admitted failure to sign using the key. i uploaded my new ssh key as well15:22
oly_can anyone suggest what might be going wrong ?15:23
maxb"Agent admitted failure to sign using the key." has in the past usually meant for me "Gnome keyring's reimplementation of a ssh-agent is buggy, use the real ssh-agent instead"15:28
oly_okay, will have to google on that one i think :p15:28
brettaltonI'm having problems registering myself to Launchpad through bzr I think. I've registered myself via 'bzr launchpad-login brett-alton' but when I push changes to my branch, it doesn't looked like it's linked to my account. It says 'brett <brett@hawking>' instead of 'Brett Alton'.15:47
brettaltonYou can see here: https://code.edge.launchpad.net/~apt-portal-devs/apt-portal/devel15:47
maxbbrettalton: 'bzr launchpad-login' sets the ssh username used to connect. The fact that you can push at all shows that that bit is right.16:03
maxbHowever the linking of revisions to launchpad accounts is done by the email addresses present in the revisions - brett@hawking is not a real email registered with LP, hence the link doesn't work16:03
brettaltonmaxb: but is it registering with my account properly? it seems like it's letting me through with my SSH key but not registering to my account16:03
brettaltonmaxb: so all I have to do is change my email to the email that I use for launchpad?16:04
brettaltonbrett@hawking is the name of my computer16:04
maxbTo solve this you must (1) commit your bzr revisions with a real email, and (2) ensure that real email is associated with your launchpad account16:04
maxbbrettalton: Try 'bzr help whoami'16:05
* maxb afk16:05
brettaltonmaxb: perfect, thanks!16:06
brongerAbout translations in Launchpad (Rosetta): In a couple of places the docs say, "Visit the translations overview page for the series and click Settings".  However, there is no "Settings" link for my project <https://translations.launchpad.net/django-refdb> although I know that something is in the import queue and "needs review".  Why is this?16:42
brongerBesides, I cannot access the import queue either.  I can only upload yet another pot file which instantly get a "needs review" status -- without telling me what is wrong about it.16:43
mathepicI uploaded a PPA then realized I forgot to upload my GPG key first. I uploaded that. Do I need to re-upload my PPA?16:47
maxbmathepic: Your question doesn't really make sense to me, could you clarify?17:09
mathepicI got it fixed17:09
mathepicI am confused on how to build my package for another version of Ubuntu17:39
mathepicLaunchpad failed to process the upload path '~/searchsolve-dev/searchsolve-ppa/ubuntu/jaunty':17:39
mathepicI'm pretty sure thats what the help said to do17:40
lyhana8hi, I'm having trouble enabling translation on my project17:42
lyhana8I've define the translation group, the permissions policy and upload .po file17:43
lyhana8but I still got the following message : "This project is not configured to use Launchpad for translations" on the translation page17:44
mathepicFrom what I remember of setting up one of my projects for translations, it takes awhile for the uploads to work17:44

ryanakcaI'm trying to run make a bzr branch of a project hosted on LP, however, I get http://paste.ubuntu.com/319487/20:08
micahgryanakca: is your ssh key added to LP?20:11
ryanakcamicahg: Yes20:12
ryanakcamicahg: Should be, anyways, lemme check20:12
sladenintellectronica: what did you actually change;  I'm still getting both the messages and the "me too's" from bug-dup-of-doom20:12
ryanakcamicahg: Nevermind, I thought it was... then I realized that all of my SSH keys seem to start with "AAAAB3NzaC1yc2EAAAABIwAAA"20:14
ryanakcamicahg: Thanks :)20:14
ryanakcaAlso, anybody know which launchpad project receives bugs on the most frequent basis? I'm testing an IRC bug announce plugin for LP...20:18
micahgryanakca: Ubuntu :)20:25
maxb(and these are already announced on #ubuntu-bugs-announce)20:30
ryanakcamaxb: Yep20:32
