[05:26] <cleary_> I'm currently building a custom ubuntu karmic based livecd for deployment in my workplace
[05:27] <cleary_> part of the legacy hardware this needs to support is ~30 machines running older nvidia 7XXX series cards
[05:27] <cleary_> the rest of the machines are intel - 
[05:28] <cleary_> as a result, during boot I do a bit of rudimentary detection, and build/install the nvidia kernel module if required
[05:28] <cleary_> this happens in a sys v init script
[05:29] <cleary_> with the concurrent init feature in 9.10, X is starting well before this kernel module build process has had a chance to complete
[05:30] <cleary_> so my question is, what can I do to hold the upstart process while this init script executes?
[05:31] <cleary_> (or how should I be approaching this issue if this is not correct?)
