mdkeanyone around who can help with a launchpad-code problem? I need to delete a backup.bzr file08:23
mdke(http://paste.ubuntu.com/325942/ - my previous upgrade failed due to a network timeout)08:24
noodles775hi mdke, does https://dev.launchpad.net/HitchHiker help?08:24
mdkenoodles775: it might do - I'd be a bit scared of breaking something but I'll give it a go if no one is able to delete the file for me08:25
noodles775mdke: I'm assuming you can use it to delete the backup.bzr instead of .bzr in the same way?08:26
mdkeok I'll try08:27
mdkenoodles775: yes, it worked :) thanks a lot08:29
mdkethat's a neat tool08:29

hakaishihi folks! I'd like to upload an PPA, but it won't do and I don't even get an email while I generated the gpg-key like said in the manual and the email-address is also the same everywhere (control-file, gpg-key, on launchpad). Even with debuild -S -sa runs without an error. Upload per dput seems to be fine too... could it be that it's something in the control-file? ( https://answers.launchpad.net/launchpad/+question/91123 )08:51
noodles775hakaishi: looking08:54
hakaishinoodles775: eh? shall I post it here, or what do you mean?08:55
noodles775hakaishi: no, there's enough info on the question - I'm checking the logs for the error.08:56
hakaishinoodles775: well, it can't be that the upload is just slow since I'm trying to upload since three days...09:00
noodles775hakaishi: no, there's definitely an error (an OOPS happening...), one tick.09:00
hakaishinoodles775: Any idea yet? - Is it really enough information?09:08
noodles775hakaishi: I've updated the question with a comment, but I'm just trying to locate the detailed error info.09:09
mr_steveAre there any issues with the PPAs right now? I can't dput; connection refused.09:11
noodles775losa: looking at the poppy log, it looks like it needs a restart.09:12
noodles775mr_steve: our losas have restarted the ftp server, you should be good to go now.09:27
mr_stevenoodles775, indeed, I just tried & succeeded. Thanks much!09:28
hakaishinoodles775: anything yet? - how does launchpad build the packages?09:32
noodles775hakaishi: we've located the detailed error report, but I don't yet have access to it.09:33
hakaishiokay, then I'll wait09:33
olyhi, i am curious about checking out a branch to ubuntu one, so that i can keep a load of computers in sync with out having to worry about commiting and updating all the time09:44
olyis this a good idea ? anyone doing anything like this currently ?09:44
intellectronicaoly: yeah, i sync some repositories like that. works fine09:46
noodles775hakaishi: http://pastebin.ubuntu.com/325975/09:50
hakaishinoodles775: so what to do?09:51
wgranthakaishi: How did you construct the .changes file?09:52
hakaishiwgrant: with debuild -S -sa09:52
wgranthakaishi: Does your debian/control not mention any binaries?09:53
olyintellectronica, cool think i shall do that then can sync my laptop desktop and work machine then09:53
hakaishiwgrant: no, there is no such line. How should it look like?09:53

wgrantBut I think I see the problem.09:55
wgranthakaishi: There should be an empty line before the 'Package' field09:55
hakaishiwgrant: I'll try09:56
hakaishiwgrant: nothing happens, but I think it will take a bit of time, right?10:04
wgranthakaishi: You should get an email within five minutes, unless the same sort of thing happens again.10:04
rithyNeed help! Why my translate template can not import into Launchpad? I wait for improvement for along time10:06

hakaishi@all thank you! It finally works ^^10:06
wgranthakaishi: Great.10:06
dpmrithy, could you post the URL of the project you are trying to set up for translation, please?10:06

LarstiQhakaishi: aaah, intereseting problem. Good it's solved!10:17
hakaishiLarstiQ: but building faild -.-10:17
LarstiQhakaishi: well that's a positive change :)10:18
LarstiQhakaishi: you don't have a build target in debian/rules?10:19
hakaishiLarstiQ: I made my source with qmake and thus there is a Makefile, but what do I need to change in the debian/rules, so that it works? - before I made my .deb with debuild -b <source> <source.deb>10:21
geserhakaishi: have you read the packaging guide?10:23
geser!packaging guide10:23
ubottuThe packaging guide is at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/PackagingGuide - See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment/NewPackages for information on getting a package integrated into Ubuntu - Other developer resources are at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuDevelopment - See also !backports10:23
LarstiQhakaishi: hmm, that looks like it should work10:24
* LarstiQ usually just invokes `debuild`10:24
LarstiQso, `cd package; vim debian/rules; debuild`10:24
hakaishi_LarstiQ: sorry my Network just went down...10:31
aleksander_mhi all... I can see a message saying "<project> does not have any download files"10:37
aleksander_mbut how can I setup files to be downloaded in the project?10:37
aleksander_mlike new tarball releases and such10:37

jldupontWhen packaging an upstream, do you guys keep a "branch" somewhere on LP with the packaging makefiles etc?14:25
jldupontanyone?14:26
beunojldupont, yes, it's common for people to keep a branch with the /debian directory14:26
jldupontso, you create a "project" per upstream?14:27
jldupontor is it more common to have a "project" per packager?14:27
jldupont... per person doing packaging?14:27
beunojldupont, yes, one project per upstream14:28

maxbjldupont: If by 'you guys' you mean Ubuntu, it's no longer necessary to create projects, because Launchpad now supports packages hanging off a distro source package, as well as off a project15:17
sorenjldupont: If the upstream project already exists on Launchpad, of course that's where we put the packaging branch. We don't create a new project just for the packaging.15:23

beuno-lunchmaxb, my understanding is every 6 hours17:53
beuno-lunchas for the branch to update, I think it's either pretty instant, or it gets stuck and james_w un-wedges it17:54
