ToobazzHello. Despite the somewhat rude posting from the last subscriber, bug 486474 really should have its importance raised.08:20
ubot4Launchpad bug 486474 in software-center "software-center doesn't alert when trying to delete important packages" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/48647408:20
* micahg is looking08:23
micahgToobazz: I set it as high08:31
Toobazzmicahg: thanks08:31
micahgit didn't seem critical as, I don't think most people try to uninstall random software08:31
micahgbut someone else might change it08:32
Toobazzmicahg: no, I think "high" is OK. I mean: it _is_ critical, but indeed only for a minority of unlucky users08:34
slacker_nl can someone perhaps have a look at this bug 443167?09:36
ubot4Launchpad bug 443167 in debian-installer "mini.iso installs openoffice packages for cli systems" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/44316709:36
TheNewAndythe "Report a bug" link at launchpad.net/ubuntu redirects me to the wiki10:44
TheNewAndyAm I doing something wrong?10:44
seb128TheNewAndy, did you read the wiki page you are redirected to?10:47
TheNewAndyyes... just not well enough. "ubuntu-bug" it is then :)10:48
TheNewAndyhowever, I think the making the "Launchpad" link under "Filing bugs at Launchpat.net" take me back to where I just came from is cruel :)10:50

aburchHi.  Can someone set the priority of 94933, 237233 to wishlist, and 312051, 433545 to medium please?12:51
titchyHi All, sorry if you are on #ubuntu too the next entry from me is a repost as suggested by a member of that list12:51
titchyHi All, I just upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 from the previous version, it killed my display as the new nv driver was unable to drive the Nvidia ION in my system, though it seemed to work previously. I had no choice but to install the proprietary drivers to get a system that works, even then I had to add them to the xorg.conf to get them to load. Is this a good enough place to say this so it helps the code change so others are not struck by a flashing t12:51
lfaraoneHey, I've got two bugs in my package autokey, both occur on package removal. I can't seem to reproduce, and I'm unable to find out any commonalities in the two. Bug 479131 and 485438.13:20
ubot4Launchpad bug 479131 in autokey "Autokey crashes on post-install, should "restart" if daemon already running" [Medium,Incomplete] https://launchpad.net/bugs/47913113:20
ubot4Launchpad bug 485438 in autokey "package autokey 0.54.5-1 failed to install/upgrade: le sous-processus script pre-removal install? a retourn? une erreur de sortie d'?tat 1" [Undecided,New] https://launchpad.net/bugs/48543813:20

jldupontmicahg: hi?18:15
micahgjldupont: hi18:16
jldupontI am really struggling with Synaptic here...18:16
jldupontIt's only my 3rd package on LP...18:16
micahgjldupont: is synaptic showing the new version at all or just not under origin?18:16
jldupontunder ppa.launchpad.net/main, it is showing **but** not when I do a search on it.18:17
jldupontI don't understand why there is an "ubuntu" logo next to it also...18:18
micahgprobably  because it's in main18:18
jldupontok18:19
jldupontWhat could go wrong with the "quicksearch" under Synaptic?18:19
jldupontI tried "banshee" and it lists the packages OK.18:20
micahgidk18:20
micahghow are you searching?18:20
jldupontin the "Quick Search" when "ppa.launchpad.net/main" is selected on the left.18:21
micahgwhat do the docs say about how the search works?18:22
jldupontI can't find anything.18:24
jldupontFor the "search filter", every knob is ON... it should search for everything/everywhere!18:25
micahgjldupont: what are you typing?18:26
jldupont"phidgets"18:26
micahgwhat should show up?18:27
jlduponthttps://launchpad.net/~jldupont/+archive/phidgets18:27
micahgjldupont: is it in the list?18:28
jldupontmaybe the "quicksearch" only searches in the "text" associated with a package?18:29
jldupontmicahg: yes it is in the list... just won't get displayed when I do a "quick search" for it18:29
jlduponthttp://tinypic.com/r/281vgx3/618:32
jldupontthat's what shows up... without the "quicksearch"18:32
jldupontany idea?18:35
Riottacan somebody help me testing a bug? requirements are Karmic/Gnome and 5 minutes of time18:36
jldupontdoes Synpatic rebuild its database "on the fly" or is it a scheduled task of some sort?  ( I know about the Reload button )18:40
WeatherGodjldupont: synaptic searches whatever is contained in its cache18:52
WeatherGodReload is one method of updating that cache18:53
jldupont@WeatherGod: thanks for the input.  Is there something special between "quick search" and "search" then?18:53
WeatherGodidk18:53
WeatherGodI would presume it is the difference between searching the summaries and the descriptions18:54
WeatherGodbut I am only guessing here18:54
jldupontthat's an interesting theory... I shall investigate.18:55

esrHi., I'm here to report a serious regression from 9.04 and that it's being systematically misdiagnosed on the Ubuntu forums.  Any maintainers responsible for the X.org packages here?23:16

esrgreg-g: Thanks, will do.23:21
