uvirtbotNew bug: #500272 in qemu-kvm (main) "qemu-kvm 0.12.1.1 needed (KSM not available in current 0.11 version)" [Undecided,Confirmed] https://launchpad.net/bugs/50027203:41
qman__anybody here use apcupsd? I have it connected and apparently working, since it detects the model correctly, but it's not showing battery status messages of any kind04:11
PC_Nerd101Hi - I'm setting up apt-cacher and thei bug reported in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt-cacher/+bug/423340 says that the status has been changed to Fix Released - however eth version in the karmic repositories is still 1.6.8 instead of 1.6.9 which is the version in the debian repositories which is the fix....    Does anyone know when this fix will be pushed through the package repository?04:13
uvirtbotLaunchpad bug 423340 in apt-cacher "Error reading from server - read (104 Connection reset by peer) (dup-of: 83987)" [Undecided,Confirmed]04:13
uvirtbotLaunchpad bug 83987 in apt-cacher "apt-cacher doesn't know about Translation-[lang].bz2 files" [Medium,Confirmed]04:13
Psi-JackDoes anyone here do anything like keepalived, heartbeat, pacemaker, for routers with failover to backup router?04:37
klearHello everyone, I'm having problems SFTP'ing into my server -- Filezilla says "Fatal: unable to initialise SFTP on server: could not connect" -- Can someone help me troubleshoot this?04:42
qman__brilliant -- "Terminating due to configuration file errors."04:44
qman__yet it provides no functionality for me to find out what the problem is04:44
klearI was trying to setup chroot with RSSH and then with SCPONLY and now SFTP is dead04:44
Psi-JackGuessing nobody presently here knows much about clustering routers, eh?04:45
qman__no, sorry04:45
qman__currently wrestling with apcupsd04:45
Psi-Jackheh04:46
Psi-JackI've been trying various methods of router clustering and it's painful.04:46
Psi-Jackheartbeat is the easiest of all, but also ANNOYINGLY deprecated.04:46
qman__I know about the theory and methods, but no practical application04:47
Psi-Jackkeepalived is working, but it's causing elections every second, or whatever my advertising interval is set to.04:47
qman__learned from cisco stuff04:47
Psi-JackYeah.04:47
Psi-JackI'm, just finding it very wierd that I'm doing it with keepalived with both routers holding onto my external IP address simaltaneously, and keepalived just pops the internal routing IP on the active node.04:47
Psi-Jackheh, and it's not causing a conflict.04:49
qman__I guess I'll just let the thing charge up before I mess with it any more04:56
qman__I just replaced the battery and got a cable for it at the same time, previously it was just doing its own thing04:56
qman__I have full connectivity, I'm just not getting any information about the battery04:59
qman__everything is NA or 004:59

uvirtbotLaunchpad bug 223502 in apt "apt cron.daily script doesn't check value-existence" [Low,Fix released]09:58
subanomichow big should my /var partition be on a debian server (running a webserver, mail server, ftp server)10:21
subanomicoh, meant ubuntu server, sorry10:21
hjmfsubanomic: it depends on how much data are you expecting to store in it10:35
hjmfsubanomic: if it doesn't need to have much user data you can place 30GB to / maybe some to /tmp and all the rest to /var10:36
subanomickk10:36
hjmfsubanomic: consider to configure your partitions in LVM, hence you can add disks and resize at pleasure10:37
hjmfsubanomic: also use at least a raid1 if the data in /var is critical10:38

Aisonhello ;)10:53
Aisoni've got a dhcp device on my router (running ubuntu server). how can I avoid that dhcpclient overrides my default route and resolv.conf entries?10:54
qman__Aison, I'm not sure if/how to stop it, but I have worked around it by adding a script in /etc/dhcp3/dhclient-exit-hooks.d/11:37
qman__that changes settings after each renewal11:37
Aisonkk11:57
Aisonqman__, I guess I found a nicer solution ;)13:02
