[01:32] having good luck with libdrm 2.4.17 with just this reverted too so far - http://cgit.freedesktop.org/mesa/drm/commit/?id=b73612e4fd69565aa2c5c2e9677f3e0af1945f7d [01:38] Sarvatt, kewl [01:39] Sarvatt, if you remind me next week I'll make sure we get that reverted and get libdrm merged in [01:41] heyo bryce! happy holidays! well I'm not positive yet, i got almost 4 days uptimewith 2 commits reverted trying to track it down and i'm trying with just this one reverted now, only been about 6 hours but I was really lucky to last that long with a stock 2.4.16/17 [01:42] * bryce__ nods === bryce__ is now known as bryyyce [02:17] Sarvatt: I notice you're playing with libdrm in xorg-edgers; are you going to update that to git HEAD, or are you playing “find the regression" with it? [02:18] I say this because nouveau is re-jigging their #defines again... [02:18] want me to update it? [02:18] i was just reverting the one bad commit for other people that had the problem [02:20] i didnt update it fully because i knew i'd have to rebuild first and redo symbols and i'm on battery power :D [02:23] I'd quite like it, yeah. [02:23] I'll just check that mesa doesn't build against it first, though. [02:24] I mean “Doesn't build against the existing libdrm", of course. [02:25] on it now [02:25] Ta. [02:25] it doesnt? [02:25] I'm not sure, I'm just trying now. [02:25] It may well not, because of the #define changes; certainly the newest DDX won't build properly. [02:26] well theres no nouveau built in the edgers mesa so it should be ok? looks like 7.7 just failed on lpia on karmic, theres something screwy on lpia where most things arent building there anyway [02:27] Oh... this was mainly for my benefit (and a new DDX); I want to see how compiz stability is going :) [02:29] Yeah, there we go. No mesa build for me! [02:32] :( [02:33] oh wait thats just with the last libdrm ya mean? updating it should fix that? [02:34] its building now so I can see the symbol changes if any [02:38] Updating it should fix it, yeah. It'll pick up the new nouveau_class.h [02:40] it'll be up in about 10 minutes, things take forever on this atom [02:40] Ta. [02:40] and i only get an edge signal where i'm tethered at, fun [02:40] Woot! [02:51] just one new symbol nouveau_pushbuf_fini@Base 2.4.17 [02:52] uploading now [03:03] that got built and published fast === Amaranth_ is now known as Amaranth === \vish is now known as mac_v [08:37] Sarvatt, no freeze for me too since I have installed it === mac_v is now known as \vish === mac_v is now known as \vish [15:33] I wanna start a terminal in a xsession. Something that looks like failsafe. I have a purpose-build box that if I kill the main app (ran by putting it in ~/.xsession) I just have a X cursor and no way to start the app again. Any Idea what I can run to have a terminal running as well/underneath? [15:36] maybe just xterm? === \vish is now known as mac_v === mac_v is now known as \vish [16:37] *sigh* another day without a working wacom tablet... [21:23] execbuff while wedged crash with just that one commit reverted :(
